Basic Summary-
The World is a the bi-product of the other realms existance and the power of the eternal beings of energy known as Gods. They are the source of all magic energy in the World, and those who train their mind and soul can harness their essence that leaks through the divide between the many realms. Second Earth is the second realm created after Eternity, or First Earth, realm of spirits and home of the Just Gods. Second Earth is home of Material Beings, those made of flesh and bone, but harness spirits. They are children of the Gods whether the Gods wish to accept it or not. Each race takes the form of their patron god, and thus that race's spell casters and wizards maintain some of their power.
The World itself is a vast globe of spawling deserts, burning wasteland, beautiful grasslands, and nigh infinite oceans. Composed of five continents Second Earth is the home of many races such as the Taur, the Elves, and the Lycan. It is also home to the Vampire, the undead, the daemon and worst of all the human. Many nations fight for dominance in this age. An age of Strife as it has come to be known, a thousand years of selfish plunder and war.

Norr
Norr was once a prosperous civilization before the Dark Ascent. Now all that remains is the husk of what was and a shadow of what could be. It's people once controlled massive sprawls of land, but now the human empire has become a mockery. What remains are the decedents of refugees from the Dark Ascent a thousand years ago. They have become talented swordsmen and dashing rouges. However many fell to darkness long ago, these are the Outriders and they are bands of warring tribes verging on becoming barbaric. the witch hunters of Norr are those who keep what remains of the Norrd intact, with swift and unrelenting justice.
The Wasteland
What remains of the many evil empires that ruled during the Dark Ascent, including Abrakhan, Razadon and the vastness of the Kithenician Empire. What was once lush, fertile land has become desert and blackened with the soot that rains from the massive forges that still burn to this day, creating wicked contraptions for the tribes of the major tribes of the waste. Sadly, the waste is also home to the Orcs, a now dead race that only lives on by spawning with humans creating only half-orcs. The land is littered with the forces of the Revenants, soul-bound automatons from the rule of King Derileth, guardians of his kingdom and ancient, hateful soldiers of his will. Lastly are hundreds of tribes, each formed under individual leaders and sometimes Revenants, these humans ban together in hopes of destroying one another and gaining the attention of their laughing, thirsting gods. They are merely pawns for the Avatar, the alleged reincarnation of Dark King Derileth.
Byr
Most of the civilazations of Byr are small, rural towns at the base of the byr mountains. Impenetrable and nigh impassable, within the Dwarves have made their home as well as the gnomes. Within the thousands of miles of sprawling forges, the gnomes constantly building new machines and technology using steam power and arcane magics. These forges are run and protected by the dwarven soldiers, nearly unmovable ancients of the old world and protectors of knowledge and science available only to Dwarven eyes.
The Elfen Kingdoms
To the North of Byr is the strongest magical faction in the world, the kingdoms of the fey. Composed of several different kingdoms (Meraud, Glædwine, Aesic, and Viorca) united under one government, these ancient and stalwart sages are the wisest and most powerful arcane users of Second Earth. Though they are not pure, their lengthy lifetime has lead their kingdoms astray and some even to evil. It is the duty of the Elves to protect the world as it was once under their entire rule, as it was the dwarves before them and the dragons before that. However, the Elves have failed, and they are now paying the price of their failure with the decadence of corruption and dark magics.
The Liche Kingdoms.
Formerly the grand human nation of Lithania, when the forces of the Frost Elves entroached on their land in the frozen north, they stood no chance. The Frost Elves have since then become masters of necromancy and have raised the fallen Lithanian soldiers into an army of the undead. This misuse of dark powers have lead the Frost elves to a dark path. They are know the Draculi, the Vampire in human tongue. Each family of Vampire owns their own portion of the kingdom, that is until the Jakel, the Skeleton King arises from his slumber to unite the Vampires in a planet wide genocide.
Taurus.
Once home to the cloven races of the Taur, now consumed by the Wasteland as so many others were as well. All that Remains of Taurus is the capital and its plains , long since set ablaze by the warring humans tribes. The Taur, once loving and serene peacekeepers, now bitter and spiteful to the races who's civilizations prosper after the war. The Minotaurs have now become hunters of men, slaying any tresspassers that near Taurus without mercy. The Centaurs act as the peacekeepers even still, though the magical backlash of the Waste has hindered their spirits. Lastly the Satyrs and Fauns try to keep the society alive with commerce and trade, however it fails greatly as the trickster Satyrs have become more of a pest than a member of society. Taurus is a dying ruin with little left to keep it other than a dying, long forgotten race, destined to become merely legend.
Playable Race-
Centaur
Centaurs are the guardians of Second Earth, or so they were long ago. They are kind hearted peacekeepers, attempting to fight off demons and monsters of the old world. Slayers of dragons and kings of horses, these creatures are the not soldiers but instead priests and regulators for a higher power. However, their grand life within Taurus was destroyed when the Dark King, Derileth, attempted to annihilate all non-humans of the Mainland. In the end, the Centaurs were victorious, but not without loss. Most females were slain during the war and many males and non-child-bearing females were drafted to fight during the dark Ascent. They are a dying breed, soon to drift into legends.
Dark Elf (Tree Fey/ Darklings)
The are one of the oldest breeds of the fey. They’re power and ability unmatched even by other fey. They hold themselves very highly amongst themselves but not to the point of arrogance like their brother races. They respect all life and choose to live as woodland rangers and scouts for the fey kingdoms, often acting as gypsies or assassins for hire. They are taller and lankier than most elves, their ears longer and their faces more gaunt. They are a peculiar race, with white eyes and dark blue skin; they often are mistaken for vampires, due to their close blood relation to the Frost elves.
During the dark Ascent, the Dark Elves were the first of the Elven Clans to discover the plans Derileth and his patrons were forming by creating a bond of faux loyalty to the dark king. By the time they reached the Kingdoms of the Elves the war had already begun and most of Taur and all of Lithania was in ruin. The dark elves quickly returned to the mainland to save their home but Derileth had learned of the Double agents in his midst and slaughtered Aesic the Dark Elves' only true city. With rage the Dark Elves claimed ultimate vengeance on the dark King, but their numbers were too few to fight a war. Many left the dark elves to join The Skeleton King in the north as Draculi. Those that remained loyal fought as assassins and rouges, training the humans to fight quicker and with more grace then their current primitive fighting styles.
The Dark elves had lost many by the end of the war and were in some cases labeled as traitors themselves for siding with Derileth. As most who knew the truth of the Dark Elves’ true nature were dead, they could do nothing to defend themselves. The survivors fled to the forests of Kithenica to aid the Norrds in their continuous hunt of the War Criminals from the Dark Ascent.
Dwarf
It is argued the Dwarves are the oldest race of Second Earth; that their stony disposition and flesh hard as rock means they actually formed from the mountains they guard. Dwarves are dark fleshed creatures, often in shades of grey or brown. They are bearded most often as the length of their beard is the only true way to tell their age. They bear pointed ears similar to the fey, making many question their origins. Their skin is often cavernous with scars and “cracks” making them look like rock elementals more than humanoids. Though their obvious difference in height marks the clear difference between Dwarf and Fey. Their first appearance was the end of the Age of Dragons, when King Osmar Zal came from the mountains of Byr to slay the dragon emperor, finally ending the war between the Fey and the Drake. This formed a long lasting alliance between the two factions that lasts even to this day, long after the passing of this dwarven “God-King”
During the Ascent, the Dwarves remained stalwart in their mountainous forges, using might Griffin Mortars that fired pure light to keep the Kithanians away. It was not long before the Dark Ascent became a World War that the Abrakân, a force of Chaos worshipers and monks of fire descended upon them by destroying the Isthmus of Meraud, homeland of the Merfolk. This left the Dwarves open for attack, but the attackers were met with not only the ever winter of Byr but the full brunt of a dwarven assault. Dwarves awaited outside their forges’ gates light statues for days, unparsed by the snowy blizzard. When the attacking warbands arrived, the were caught unaware when these stone statues slaughtered their warbands. It would have been a victory had it not been a massive distraction. Using chaos powers of ruination Primval Kraxis dug his most elite soldiers under the mountain and into the heart of Hellforge, unleashing daemons and soldiers upon the unsuspecting dwarven miners. Millions were swallowed by the attack in hours.
King Zal left his throne again and personally led the counter attack, slaying thousands of demons and taking on Kraxis one on one. Kraxis was slain but Zal was wounded mortally. The surviving dwarves lifted his corpse to the nearest forge where the machine-priests forged a suit of armor known to many as a “Man-o-war” that magically kept their king alive. The dwarves rejoiced as their king once again lived, sitting stalwart on his thrown awaiting the next attempt to take Byr.
Gnomes
Gnomes are quite easily the youngest race only having appeared in the last 3,000 years at the foot of Byr. These fast little creatures are roughly 3ft tall and can run as fast as a human despite their stubby legs. Their faces are roughly human in appearance, with button noses and rounded ears as well as other rounded features. They tend to be mildly chubby and have thick limbs and digits. Their eyes are typically green and their hair red. They live roughly around the same length as humans but are much less capable warriors. However, these Halflings are amongst the most brilliant minds on the planet, creating steam-powered and rune-infused machines that were never even feasible 4,000 years ago.
During the Dark Ascent, the Traitorous forces of Norr attempted to align themselves with the gnomes to which the gnomes ignorantly accepted. They unknowingly supplied advanced weapons, armor and equipment to the Kithenician war machine. The dwarves eventually caught wind of this betrayal and went to deal with the Gnomes as traitors only to see that they had no army of their own. The Dwarves revealed the Norrd’s betrayal and the naive gnomes were distraught. It wasn’t long after this great reveal that Primval Kraxis began his siege of Byr. The Gnomes, who had made their home at the foot of the Byr Mountains, were the first casualties of war. This peaceful, prosperous race was nearly subject to genocide as Kraxis’ forces plundered and raped their way through the unsuspecting gnomes. Those who survived fled to the top of the Byr Mountains, still being chased by fast, skilled riders. It was here that the Gnomes made their last stand. They began to fight and practice magic for warring purposes. They forged machines out of rock and trees that humbled any war machine from the mainland. For years these battles continued and with the Dwarves refusing to open the forges of Byr, and the Gnomes having no-where else to go, it seemed grim.
Suddenly one day the gates opened and the survivors were allowed into Byr, their trials of a warrior had been proven to the now dying god-king Zal. It was the gnomes who made the magical suit of armor work, keeping the king alive even after death. This created an instant bond between the two races. The gnomes left the ruins of their small civilization behind and began to help the Dwarves rebuild the forges and taking the dwarven expansion to new heights.
Half-Orcs
Orcs are a dead race. Their story is a tragedy filled with death and destruction. All they have to leave behind are their lesser races; their slaves and ultimately their destruction, Goblins, their inbred cousins the ogres and trolls, and lastly, their only hope to continue their legacy, the Half-orc. Half orcs are exactly as they sound a mix between human and orc. Half orcs on average stand about 6ft tall, and are often fit and athletic, looking menacing with blood red eyes. Like other fey, their ears are long and pointed, unlike other fey, so are their jaw lines and noses. As orcs are the only fragment of the fey family that could breed with humans, half-orcs were a rarity and an abomination when they first appeared. But now the fey accept these red skinned, and sometimes green-skinned, creatures as family, for their sister race of the orc is all but a memory.
In the early phases of the Dark Ascent the ever prosperous race of the Orc was at the peak of technological development. Their allies the Taur were currently aiding them in an on going war against the Goblin King, the first Demonkin. As the war came to a close and the goblins began to withdraw, Derileth came riding in as a savior to the Halfling creatures. He admired the Goblin king and promised victory in exchange for devotion. With no other choice, the goblin king agreed. In a matter of a week the Orc Empire was swallowed alive by a pincer assault from both ends. Slaughtering thousands as the goblin-human alliance lead to the world’s first true genocide. The orcs fled north to the Deimos Sea but were gunned down like dogs by the also advanced fleets of the Zartosht.
In the end only the few soldiers that fought the Dark King remained. They fled to the south, where their seed flourished in desperation to keep their legacy alive. The legacy they left behind however, was a series of generations of bizarrely intelligent, extremely powerful warriors, with a natural rage that can rarely be surprised, creating instead of brilliant humanoid scientists for a new age, became an army of bloodthirsty berserkers ready for vengeance of their fallen families.
High Elves
High elves are the largest race of fey and by far the most human in appearance. Their ears are pointed but not elongated. Their skin is a pale pink and their eyes almond in shape with dark irises. Most humans believe high elves to be the most beautiful creatures on the planet, however their insides are rotted and foul. High elves care little for others but themselves, as they are truly the most arrogant beings on Second Earth. As survivors of countless wars they flaunt their status as former rulers of earth with high regards and still argue the human’s capability to rule. High elves despise humans for their violence, they believe they are the best elves and they envy dwarves for their invulnerability. What elves lack in physical strength they make up in raw magical power. All high elves are born with a natural ability to control the elements. No matter the lore or source of their power, all high elves are gifted in the arcane.
It was during the dark ascent that the mage council formed together once more and took control over the high elf government as commander and chief. By the time the Frost Elf Empire collapsed at the hands of the nefarious Prince Jakel, soon to become the Skeleton King, the elves has prepared a full army form a counter attack in revenge of their fallen brethren and to annihilate the traitors who dare call themselves fey. The high elves were prepared for the most elaborate and daring battle in history. But as they saying goes, no battle plan survives contact with the enemy. The Frost Prince had risen and army of undead that verged on the millions, where the High elf army reached its max around a few hundred thousand. Outnumbered and outmatched, the high elves went on the defensive, fighting wave after wave of undead as they attempted to breach the walls of Great Glædwine. But each was met with failure. After some time, the High Elves began to push the undead horde to their homeland of Lithania where the final assault on the Lich known as Jakel was made. The High Elves paladins stormed the fortress as the mages cast massive balls of light to weaken the Draculi and ghouls from within the frozen fortresses. Though many Draculi were slain and many fortresses claimed, Jakel was no-where to be found.
The high elves launched a massive crusade against the Draculi and Jakel himself swearing to bring him to justice for his crimes. Though Jakel was reportedly slain at the battle of the Black Fortress, somehow his body was revived more powerful then before. This “Skeleton King” was a whole new threat. The High elves, embarrassed by their inability to kill a frost elf, became infuriated as a people. Launching infinite crusades against the North land for 1000 years, each less successful than the last. In the minds of the High Elves, there will be no true peace until Jakel and his armies are forever put to rest.
Humans.
Humans are by-far the largest race on Second Earth. Their numbers range well into the multiple billions. However their lifespan is less than impressive, but in a short amount of time, one human can make a massive impact.
Derileth, King of Kithenica was once a strong, powerful man who had turned his back on the world for power and immortality. His goal was ultimately a failure as he was destroyed by King Falador the greater, a man who sacrificed his own life to slay the dark king, dying a martyr.
Human factions are numerous and are constantly warring, since their birth into the world. Each faction has its own strengths and weaknesses, and it is their separations and feuds and infighting that cause humanity to fall short of victory. If the humans were to fully unite, as Derileth almost proved, the world would be forfeit.
Merfolk (Water Fey)
The peoples of Meraud have always been a nefarious and unique creature. They’re forms are that of the true Fey, hideous and primal. The Merfolk are tall creatures with long limbs and fins and webbings on their limbs, back, hands and feet. They have long slits that act as gills and lungs along the blue flesh of their throats. This slit can be closed or opened at will allowing Merfolk near infinite amounts of time out of water, as long as they remain hydrated. Their eyes are large and black, their noses small and shallow. Their hair is often long and black as well as extremely slick with oily residue. Their mouths are filled with long sharp rows of teeth like a shark that they use to feast on prey.
The Merfolk were not always this way. They were once just as the high elves but with more pallid, gossamer flesh, well known as the most artistically gifted of the Fey and highly regarded for their Songs. It wasn’t until Primval Kraxis destroyed Meraud with his monks of chaos that the people were quickly forced to adapt. Grand Sorceress Branwen Meris cast a curse on the Merfolk as her city was engulfed by the sea. She cast that all those afflicted with water would bind with it. And bind they did, becoming the youngest version of the fey. The City of Meraud was rebuilt underwater, away from the Dark Ascent. Because of this many view the Merfolk as cowardly. There is little cowardly about the Merfolk.
Now, 1,000 years after the “Submersion”, the Merfolk rise again to claim the lives of those that ruined their civilization. The Merfolk have trained for a millennia and have centuries of anger to unleash upon the humans. Be it Wildman or Faladorian, any human sailor rightly fears the Merfolk and their terrifying siren songs.
Minotaur
Where as the Centaur are the guardian of Taur, the Minotaur are the soldier, the hunter, and the brute force of any Taurus army. They are tall, strong creatures with the head of and front legs of a bull but the body of a man. Their agility matching that of their human form, their strength that of their bovine nature, however these beasts are feared even by other Taurus. Their might and fervor is unleashed only in the direst of situations. Otherwise, Minotaurs are blacksmiths and hunter, gatherers of the Taurus Empire.
When Shaggoth the Betrayer slew his Father and Emperor Samson the Doombull, many satyrs, Fauns and Centaurs fled from the onslaught of the Dark King in hopes for peace. Only the Minotaur stood firm, refusing to bow to any, even the mighty Dark King Derileth. It is this reason that many Minotaurs were butchered by the Dark King’s armies. Though these mighty beasts did not simply die, they gave the fight their all and each claimed a dozen lives before their own was taken. In the end the numbers were against them and the armies of mortals and daemons were just too numerous and powerful to fight against.
In the aftermath of the war, only the children of Minotaurs who were too young to fight and the weak and elderly were alive. These young orphans were raised to fight on their own as individuals, mercenaries or even assassins. They were the best fighters Taur had to offer, but now that Taur was hardly even a memory, Minotaurs see no point in even returning to their own home.
Revenant
Of all of the machinations of the Dark Arts, Revenants are the Magnum Opus. These spiritual automatons were once the greatest and most loyal of King Derileth’s army. They now are eternal constructs of magic and steel. Having no biological matter other than the dust within their sealed suits of armor, Revenants are truly immortal and utterly ageless and immune to sickness, poisons and the most mortal of wounds. Revenants are traditionally tall, baring armor from the Dark Ascent 1,000 years ago. The overall look of a Revenant is almost impossible to calculate, as every suit for these warriors was customized and further deviated depending on kingdoms and then further divided in colors and look by the individual tribes, regiments and even units the warrior belonged to.
During the Dark Ascent, the three primary human kingdoms that are now in ruins within borders of the Wasteland, all pledged themselves to the Dark Gods and their missaiah, Derileth. Of these factions there were the knights of Abrakân, worshipers of war, destruction and chaos. Next was Razadon, originally worshipers of the Just God of the Storm, they became greedy and enigmatic cultists of Czessek the dark god of machines. Lastly were the Knightly Order within the dark cult themselves, the Ebon Hand, the deathly shadow warriors of Kithenica and Derlieth’s personal legion. Each of these three knightly orders were required to perform a blood pact for their new Overlord, giving their immortal souls as tribute to the Lord of Shadows in Netherealm should they fall in battle. This ritual required them to draw a symbol in the interior of their armor with their own blood. Only a select few members of the Ebon Hand knew its true purpose. During the final days of the Ascent, when the forces of good lead an all out assault on the Black Chapel, Derileth cast one final incantation before the eve of his death. All those who had sealed the blood pact would be reborn without their mortal forms, their souls forever bound to their armor.
When King Falador the Young slew Derileth the spell was released, resurrecting all those members of the pact who had fallen in the final days of his rule. Many perished as these suits of armor arose, vengeful and bitter to have their eternal slumber ruined. However, without a proper Overlord, many scattered, forming individual warbands within the Wasteland or becoming soul survivors, living in isolation for the rest of their immortallity. Many mortals rightfully fear to trek too deep into the Wastes lest they incur the wrath of these fallen knights without any purpose other than eternal war.
Satyr
The Satyr are a bizarre, wry Halfling folk, heavily related to those of the Taur. Satyrs are very similar to their larger cousins of the Minotaur, but instead bare the features of a goat rather than a bull. Satyrs are the most business-minded of the Taur, they are extremely intelligent but also extremely mischievious. They have little qualms scamming someone for everything they own or cheating in the most unnecessary ways. Though despite this reputation, their charm seems to be hypnotizing, to which many wizard scholars have linked to it being an innate magical ability.
When a splinter faction of the Ebon Hand emerged within Taraus, the first to be accused of betrayal were the Satyr, this time however, they were completely innocent. In order to prove their innocence, many Satyr joined the Taurus military as scouts and spies; in some cases, showcasing their natural magical ability as wizards causing great damage both off and on the frontlines. AS history would tell though, the Taur were not victorious in the early half of the Dark Ascent, the deaths of many Satyr were of no exception. The satyr were not capable warriors by any means and when it came to the clashing of blades thousands of their lives were lost and the hands of Derileth’s conclave.
After the destruction of the whole of Taurus, many Satyrs fled the destruction and joined the nomadic Minotaurs in their journeys. . Those that remained in Taurus tried their best to rebuild their government and economy, even taking the place of priests of the Just Gods. Whether seeking redemption, survival or a purpose at all, the Satyrs are a wayward people whose lack of connectivity cause their numbers to dwindle.
Draculi (Vampires/Blood Fey)
If there was ever proof that even the most pure and graceful can fall, its in the tale of the Draculi. They were once the prosperous race of fey known as the Frost Elf, a society of warriors, scholars and mages that rivaled even that of the High Elves. Frost Elves were very similar to that of their High Elf kin in appearance, though far more pale. Unlike other races, the High Elves had no qualms with the ice fey, they were quite the contrary in fact, due to Viorca’s closeness to Great Glaedwine. This fact is the staple reason why their betrayal was left such a grievous impact on Elven morale.
In the earliest days of the Dark Ascent, Prince Jakel of Viorca and a retinue of his most valiant warriors, along with many others of other races, followed Derileth into the Eternity Gate hidden within the peaks of Lithania. They had hoped to see the other realms in all their glory and be enlightened with the knowledge of the gods. No one soul but those who entered knows the events that happened on the other side, but all those who returned were mentally and spiritually changed. Almost immediately after emerging from the Gate, Jakel lead a force of elite frost elves to Lithania, claiming it as their new base of operations. Tales and rumors of the horrors performed during the Rape of Lithania are all the records held of this event, but one fact remains; in three short days, Jakel’s army somehow wiped the entire nation of Lithania from existence. Weeks later, Jakel had slain his own father with his own blade and claimed himself King of Viorca. Without question the demented Frost Elves assaulted Glaedwine with an army of both the living and the undead of Lithania. It wasn’t until the necromantic atrocities of the Frost Elves had anyone seen the horror of the dead rise again.
The High Elves refused to go quietly, and decades of endless struggle began, but the undead legions seemed nigh infinite. As time passed, many frost elves began practicing the vile arts, corrupting their souls further and leading them down a path of decadence and evil. Tales are told of great cannibalistic feasts held by the Frost Elves, and visages of blood and gore became an ongoing motif within their armies. The High Elves renamed their former kin Draculi, or Blood Fey, a symbol of their atrocious new nature and their broken bond with their fey kin. It wasn’t until the death of Jakel during the final battle of the Black Chapel that the Draculi withdrew back to the damned tundra of Lithania. Over the past millennium, the Draculi seemed to become cursed with their cannibalism, requiring them to spill and feast on the living in order to stave the darkness of their souls from physically mutating and corrupting their perfect Elven bodies. In modern times the Draculi are a rarity to be seen outside of the Liche, as their army has become splintered and disorganized with the loss of their King. However, rumors have been heard leaking from Glaedwine that Jakel was killed, but resurrected as a mighty lich the Elves call The Skeleton King, whom is only biding his time for his power to reach its height before reuniting the Draculi and leading them once again toward world Domination.
Advanced Summary-
Second Earth has never truly known peace. All of its existence the creatures that inhabit it have fought for dominance. In the first age, Dragons Ruled, only to be overthrown by the Taur who willingly surrendered their rule to the elves and dwarves who have warred off and on for millennia. Lastly were the Humans to inherit the Earth. Though their impatience and natural desire to conquer only lead to tragedy.
King Derileth the Greater, king of the rolling plains and lush forests of Kithenica was once a devout and loyal man of honor and prosperity. However, however powerful his heart was, his spirit was weak and easily won over by the dark gods of the Netherealm. Upon discovery of the other planes, Derileth lead an exposition with soldiers and scientists of all races to the ethereal dimension. So few know what was seen on the other side, but all who returned were seen through a mirror darkly.
Derlieth became a hateful king of darkness and developed a thirst for power. Prince Jakel of the Frost Elves became a bloodthirsty monster of a man, indulging in heinous rituals. Shaggoth of the Taurs, betrayed his home by forging a cult of pure evil and launching civil war. Within months the world was thrown into chaos and war. The nations of good have had their hand forced and were off to war in attempt to stop the forward invasion of Derileth, or the Dark Ascension.
This terrible world wide conflict lasted roughly 100 years before the forces of the Dark king were finally defeated and pushed back to the Black Chapel. Even this victory was not without sacrifice. Young King Falador lead a band of the most elite of his men, the white knight order, against the fortress, aided by Gnomes in the breech and supported by the elves. The warband fought bravely through the fortress and suffered little casuallty until they finally reached the throne room. There no one knows the exact truth of what happened, but it is said that the Silverlight the weapon used by Falador and lost to this day pierced the unbeating heart of king Derileth, slaying his indestructable body and banishing his immortal soul.
The world was forever thrown into turmoil. Factions splintered and forced to fight for themselves and amongst themselves. This 1000 year period of war and suffering would be known as the Age of Strife. This ongoing era of slow progression and constant war has lead many races astray, and many nations, tribes and factions would be lost to the forces of darkness. The line is no longer clear, it is every soul for themselves. And if all wasn't at its worst, a figure from the North Mainland has arisen going only by the name the Avatar. He claims to be the reincarnation of Derileth and has vowed to finish where his former self failed to. To the far north in the Lands of the Liche lay an ancient evil known as the skeleton king, an undead elf as old as time with a hatred for the living. These evil beings are only some of the few dark powers on the rise. It is up to what few heroes remain to stop this corruption and restore order to Second Earth once more.
