Burning Desires (Tallow & darkangel76)

Emmy felt Tallow give her a squeeze before he all but tossed her onto the floor behind him. She landed with a thud and hit her head against the wall. Despite the pain she felt from her landing, she just scrambled into the corner, grabbing at her earlier discarded nightshirt as she did so.

Hastily, Emmy threw on the shirt and then remained as still as possible. It was hard though, given how terrified she felt. Her body was shaking and quaking, fearful of the scene unfolding before her. Tallow had leaped off the bed now and was standing before the man who appeared out of thin air. ‘Teleporter,’ Emmy thought to herself. ‘Oh shit!’ And he’d said that they’d come for her. Why?

Emmy saw the teleporter wince a little just then. It was clear to her that somehow Tallow had blasted him with his telekinetic powers. She shivered at the thought of that.

Suddenly the teleporter disappeared. Emmy gasped at the sight of it, a strange smell lingering in the air as he vanished. Then, he reappeared once more, a bright light shining where he stood. It was as if a portal opened and closed at his will each time he decided to move.

Emmy clutched at her head so as to hide everything from her view. She let out soft whimpers as fear and panic began to escalate to even higher levels within her mind, body and soul. Just then, the curtains caught fire once more. The teleporter only laughed, making Emmy tremble even more violently than she already was.

Tallow sent out another telekinetic blast. Emmy knew it. The teleporter winced yet again, faltering ever so slightly. But despite what he was being forced to feel, he made his way toward Emmy.

Emmy tried to crawl away on the floor, but the teleporter just used his abilities to get closer until he was looming over her.

“Tallow!” Emmy shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Flame him Emmy" Tallow yelled, launching anothe blast of telekinesis. This guy was far too strong, he seemed to be resistant somehow. Leaping for his gun, which he had placed on the bedside table, Tallow got off a quick double-tap to the teleports face, at the same hurling a concentrated spike of energy at the same spot. And he prayed.

Emmy heard Tallow’s order, but she was too frightened to react. Instead, small fires began to erupt around the room as she sobbed in the corner, the teleporter looming over her.

Just then, Emmy heard the sound of gunfire and like that, the teleporter was gone. He was nowhere to be seen. She could only smell a strange scent lingering in the air and hear his low laughter ringing in her ears. He was gone for now, but somehow she knew he’d be back. It wasn’t the last she’d see of him.

Emmy looked over at Tallow, who was holding a gun. The small fires still burning, making the air become thick with smoke.

“I’m so sorry,” Emmy replied, her blue eyes wide and filled with tears.

Tallow reacts quickly, snuffing the fires out and stowing the gun. He starts to pull his clothes on, motioning for her to do the same

"I didnt kill him, he is still out there. Damn, how did they find us? We are going to have to get out of here, grab your clothes"

He hurries into the other room, grabs the other gun, the laptop, and stuffs it all into a bag. He whips out the cell phone and dials

"Hey boss, we have a situation, they found us, we are coming in hot, prepare an evac at Site A" he ends the call without waiting for a reply, tosses it into the bag and calls to Emmy to get a move on.

Emmy scrambled for her clothes that she’d neatly set aside from her earlier shower. She pulled them on, but she was out of luck on the panties. Tallow had ripped them during their lovemaking and the only ones available to her right now were men’s. Scowling, but not hesitating, she pulled on her jeans commando-style.

Tallow ran out of the bedroom after dressing himself. Emmy could hear him talking to someone over his cell phone. She had no idea what was going on or why. But she did know that she was scared. That teleporter frightened her more than Tallow did.

Emmy left the room in a hurry only to see Tallow throwing some things into a bag and finishing up his phone call.

“…we are coming in hot, prepare an evac at Site A.”

Emmy’s head was spinning. So much was happening and for some reason she was at the center of it all. ‘What did it mean?’ she wondered to herself.

Tallow then motioned for Emmy to follow him as he swung open the door. Immediately, she ran to him, clutching onto his arm. “What the hell is going on?” she asked as they began to run down the staircase.

"I dont know, all we can do is get out of here, I do not have the power to deal with a teleport of that strength. All I can do is evacuate us to base, I doubt they will find us there, and we have our own teleports" he hurries into the car and starts it up, pulling out and hitting the highway. He drives for around ten minutes to a field outside the city, and they get out, to wait.

"This is the evac point" he says, looing around nervously

The car ride to wherever Tallow was heading felt like it took forever to Emmy. They drove in total silence and that silence was more than deafening. Neither one of them spoke a word, though Emmy had wanted to say something more than once.

So much had happened in such a short amount of time. Emmy literally felt like her world had turned upside down. It had never been what one could call truly normal, but it was what she knew. And it didn’t involve other ‘gifteds’ or people trying to gun you down and attack you. Anything out of the ordinary had only occurred because of her own mishaps, her own mistakes, accidents.

And then there was Tallow. Emmy had no idea where things were heading between the two of them. He claimed he loved her. But did he? She could tell he was experienced, he was a government agent, a teleported. The most damned attractive man she’d ever seen in her entire life.

Emmy crossed her legs and looked out the window as thoughts of what she and Tallow had done earlier that night flooded her mind. She was more than confused by him, his actions. How could he love her so quickly? Was that possible? Strangely, she hoped so. They’d only known each other for a matter of hours, but she had to admit that there was something about him that touched her. Maybe she was getting confused because he was sent to protect her and that he’d saved her life more than once now. Maybe it was the way he touched her body, made it feel the most wonderful pleasure. She squeezed her thighs together a little at the thought of his hands on her, his lips.

Just then, the car came to a halt. They were near a field, just outside of the city. Emmy watched Tallow get out of the car. She followed and walked over to him.

“This is the evac point,” Tallow said, his eyes darting around as if looking for something.

Whether Tallow was looking for those who worked with him or for this Nexus he spoke of, Emmy didn’t know. All she did know was that she found herself suddenly worrying that the two of them would become separated. As much as she feared him, his abilities, the way he made her feel both physically and emotionally, she didn’t want to be away from him.

Emmy walked up to Tallow and looked up into his eyes. Feeling a little bold, she wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged her body tightly against his. She laid her head against his chest, her heart racing, her eyes tearing.

“So, is this it?” Emmy asked. “Are you leaving me once your people get here?” She hoped not, but she feared the worst. She felt as though she was just starting to get used to him. Pulling away a little, she looked into Tallow’s eyes once more. “Don’t leave me,” she said in a whisper. “Don’t leave me.”

"I don't know Emmy, the nexus seem to want you badly, and they know we are connected. If I stay near you they can find you, and they can kill you or capture you" but he does not break the embrade, bending to kiss her on the head, burying himself in the sweet scent of her hair. The thought of all the things that ehy had done, and his feelings for her, were tearing him apart.

On cure, a helicopter descended out of the night sky, completely black. A group of specail forces soldiers leapt out and formed a defensive perimiter as Tallow hurried her inside. It takes off and flies into the night, the two are surrounded by soldiers. A man dressed similarly to Tallow claped him warmly on the back as he entered, and is briefing him on the situation, occasionally using images on a military style laptop

Emmy buried her face against Tallow’s chest when he told her he didn’t know if they’d be able to stay together or not. The thought of him leaving killed her. After everything he’d said to reassure her. After everything they’d done. Everything she still wanted to do despite the confusion and fear.

Suddenly, Emmy could hear the sounds of what had to be a helicopter. Pulling away from Tallow a little, she saw it descend from the air and land in the field nearby where they were standing. She bit down on her lip trying to hold back the tears she felt forming in her eyes, trying to tamp down the pain she felt inside. ‘This is it,’ she thought to herself.

Tallow escorted Emmy inside the helicopter. She felt herself shiver a little at the sight of the soldiers. She looked at Tallow who sat himself down next to another man, dressed similarly to himself. Tallow clapped the man’s shoulder as if they were buddies, had a history. She wondered if he too was a ‘gifted’ like Tallow was. If he too had a similar job. Sniffling a little, she turned to look away from them both. It was too much. She could hear the two men conversing about things she didn’t understand. And out of the corner of her eye, she saw that they were looking at a laptop screen every so often.

Emmy wrapped her arms around herself and leaned her forehead against the glass. But, she didn’t look out the window. Instead she closed her eyes. The tears were falling rather freely now and she tried her best to hide the fact that she was shaking. Trying to calm herself down before they landed, she focused on the sound of Tallow’s voice as he spoke to his friend. The sound of it gave her some small comfort as the knot in her stomach tightened. Suddenly, she could feel the helicopter descending once again. She had no idea where they were going or what was going to happen next. But, she felt the need to brace herself for the worst even though she knew doing such a thing wouldn’t matter. If she had to be separated from Tallow, she knew she’d withdraw. As much as she hated to admit that.
