Fima Baequineldth was moving quickly on her way to the village elders, a young elf had come to her doorstep to find her very early in the morning, he said her presence was necessary in front of the Village Elders. He wasn't able to tell her any more about it, probably because he didn't know himself. She'd never been summoned like this by the elders, even though she was in close contact with most of them. She liked to borrow their reading materials, and asked them to seek out new readings and to get her in contact with other magicians.

She had taken a while to get ready in the morning, for a smart elf she was very disorganized, but wanted to bring a variety of things in case there was a problem. It was a good hour before she got fully dressed and prepared to leave her house, headed to the large tree in the middle of the village. Partially hollowed and kept in good health by old enchantments the beautiful Ennadris, seat of the village Nyruth stood majestically in front of her as she moved as quick as she could.

Fima easily the most gifted magic user in the village was also one of the youngest elves in the village. Very young for an elf, some refuse to acknowledge her as an adult even though she has accomplished much for her age.

Mikeal was a half-elf, his father a human, his mother an elf, his parents were not allowed to stay together and he was forced to live with his father in a human village, far from the woman who gave birth to him. He grew up being made fun of by the human children for being a part elf, however he did not let their taunts sadden him, instead he fought back. He got tough, and learned how to fight. They learned pretty quick not to get violent with him, and never threw a rock for fear it would come back to crack their skull like an over ripened watermelon.
They kept their distance with wordy taunts, most of which never caught his ear after a while.
When he grew older then, drunks would pick fights with him in bars, and he gained more skill in fighting, learning to defend himself from all sides. He got banned from a lot of bars, and learned to simply buy his own alcohol.
He moved out of his father's house at a young age, and quickly found himself a mysterious stranger to teach him how to use the gifts his elven blood gave him. Summoning fire at weal, and mending flesh and broken bones. He was no master but he learned enough to survive in the wilderness.
Eventually he found himself in his mother's village. She no longer lived there, gone to an ancient city for a duty no one would tell him, but he had a cousin there, who welcomed him with open arms. Most people in the village though, couldn't accept him for being part human, but no one got violent. The worst he ever got in the elven village was a dirty look. However the time spent in the human village made him untrusting of anyone but dwarves, the ones ones not to look down upon him for being a cross breed. No, they just looked down on him for not being a dwarf, good enough, he thought.

Mikeal was a solid five foot eight, with blonde streaks in dark brown hair he had unique hair, his eyes a brilliant crystal blue like his mothers, far prettier then human eyes. He dressed in simple clothes, brown pants and dark leather boots. He wore a dark brown long sleeve shirt, buttoned only midway from the top. His sword had a black leather strap to keep it to his back, and he kept a dagger in his right boot, a small knife in his left boot. He carried a small leather backpack, full of basic survival things, but packed light so as not to hinder him. His skin was tanned lightly, most on his face from being in the sun, but not too darkly as he spent much time in the shaded trees as well. Still though his skin had more color then some, he rarely spent any time indoors.

Today he was coming to see his cousin, he wanted to surprise him with a new leather vest. How could he not be happy to see someone who for once, welcomed him with open arms when so many others had scorned him simply for being different.

Fima made her hurriedly to the elders. Her mind trying to think of anyone of a thousand things that could be going wrong that the elders may have called her. Being quite a bit of a worrier herself she quickened her pace, which wasn't quite the greatest move considering her permanently ink-stained robes tended to be made slightly long at her request. She wasn't a fan of the cold drafts of the winter that was well on its way. The majority of leaves had fallen from the tree and all that awaited was the first snow to be known as winter. The weather was cold and getting colder everyday, so far there had been a few flurries here and there, but the first official snow had not stuck to the ground.

She was holding her robes up as she ran the weight made it worse than the human women with their long wool skirts. Her long raven black hair remained slightly unkempt and growing worse by the moment as the chilly winds battered her. Fima's focus led her to forget her surroundings as a figure dashed into her peripherals and with more force than was necessary for the situation shoved her violently, causing the slightly uncoordinated elf to tumble to the ground. It was fast and rough, but Fima's natural reflexes somehow still made it look a little graceful. Her mid-back length hair was splayed over the ground as she peeked up through the long straight locks with one eye at her attacker. Her jade eye spied a man in very dark clothes with the majority of his face covered by a cloth of some sort. " Hand over the scroll" the man shouted as he slowly drew a short sword from a concealed sheathe.

She jumped up to her knees scuttling backwards as he closed in on her her hands going up to cover the porcelain skin of her face. Her attacked nearly a foot taller than her at around six foot tall intended to bring his weapon down on her with the full might of his size and the natural impact of a higher fall.

Mikeal was happy to see that hardly anyone payed attention to him, and those that did smiled and waved hello before hurrying on their way. Perhaps everyone was just to busy to notice he was half human, but it was nice not be insulted for once. It put him in a better, friendlier mood.
Which was why when he saw a cloaked figure coming down upon a very frail looking elf girl he had did not even hesitate to step in.

All she heard was the clash of metal, Mikeal's longsword swinging around to intercept the blow. "I wouldn't do that, not if I were you." He said slowly, and swung his blade to push the attacker back. "You have two options, run now, or die at the end of my blade." Mikeal moved around his opponent, blade angled upward at the man's throat. His stance was a clear indication he knew what he was doing and he only held his sword in one hand. His other hand was more used to holding a shield, and took a similar position to that, only slightly shifted to be used for catching if need be.
"I do not know what your quarrel is with this woman but there is no reason to attack an unarmed, and quite clumsy lady. I suggest you leave now, lest you end up taking option two."

Fima eyes were firmly clenched shut when she heard the sound of metal striking metal, with a heavy amount of force. She peaked between her arms when she was sure she wasn't in any kind of pain. Her savior stood in front of her, she was ecstatic that someone had come to her rescue. She watched on though, because she knew the scene wasn't over. There would be more to what was going on than just one attack. She listened as the man who had saved her spoke but her head dropped a little as he called her clumsy. It was a rough life being known as an uncoordinated elf. Her elegance and grace made most humans look like bumbling idiots but to the rest of her kind she was a clutz, it made her an easy target to be made fun of.

The man held his blade between himself and the blade of Mikeal. " You should mind your own business half-breed. You're of no use to me, step aside and we'll spare your life." Almost immediately after the man who was clearly a human male judged from the tone of his voice and the width of his chest, had finished speaking similar sounds, yells and shouts to what was going on hear broke out in several places of the village. His mouth was covered but you could tell by the movement of his eyes that he was smirking underneath his mask.

Fima jumped to her feet when she regained her composure. She positioned herself behind Mikeal, peeking around him at her attacker. She was nervous and scared as she realized the severity of the situation. Easily described as panicked Fima tried hard to clear her mind and to think of a way out of the situation, a thousand images flying through her head at once made it much more difficult.

Mikeal's eyes narrowed as the man insulted him. "We?" He said, and knew what he meant at the sounds of screaming. He wouldn't be able to track the others down without someone getting hurt, he could only hope these elves knew how to defend themselves better then this girl behind him. "No, I do not think I shall step inside for a barbaric human to do as he wishes with a defenseless woman. "If you don't retreat I will cut you down now, or better yet." He said, and lunged forward again the man. He had the advantage with the length of the sword and favored a thrusting motion as to not give the man an advantage on speed.
The mysterious man blocked his blade with a quick swing and went to stab as he moved in for the kill. Mikeal deflected the blade with his wirst guard and swung around, stabbing the man in the side with a quick thrust, and kicked him back.
The man charged again, a bit desperate but was only met with a blade through the gut to finish him off.
Mikeal kicked him to the ground, kneeling to wipe the man's blood off his blade with his robe, and then sheathed his sword, turning to the young elven girl. "Are you alright? It's a good thing I came when I did." He walked to her and gave her a quick look over. "I better go and see if I can't save anyone else, better get somewhere safe." He said, and ran off down the street to find the trouble.
