Tale of Two Princes [LordEarlGray + kikora]

Prince Amir had always wanted to travel the world.. Since he was a very young boy all he would do was stare out the window and dream of playing in the grass outside.. Unfortunately for the boy he was born a prince, the first prince, and he wasn't allowed outside.. especially with the newest assassinations happening near the kingdom..
Sure there were things to do for the young boy INSIDE the castle, but that's not what he wanted.. he wanted what was out there.. so Prince Amir took his frustration from not being able to leave the huge castle and put it into learning.. learning everything he could.. reading every single boo inside the castle and buying even more off of traders that came to the castle once a month, as well as.. knives. That was something Amir was very good at.. fighting with knives.. he loved concealing them and throwing them at tiny flies or fruit.
Twenty years old, tall and thin, Amir was still doing the same things.. Stuck inside, dressing in dark colors, grays and blacks and silvers with the intricate crest of his family over his thin chest, pale skin off setting his long dark brown hair and honey-green eyes, shifting from color to color depending on the light in the room.. After reading almost every book he could find about spying.. negotiating and finding out information in secret Amir didn't have anything to do.. he didn't have a project or anything to distract him.. and when Amir had nothing to do he was mad, stalking the halls, flicking his knives out from their hiding places and back so fast that no regular person could see..
The castle he was and had always been residing in was huge.. and gray.. and sat on the side of a lake he tended to stare at all the time, thinking about what wonders lay underneath the layer of water.. he had only read of the animals under there but wanted more.. longed for.. so much more. His father had balls and parties in his honor but those just bored the tall prince, the only person he was close to was his trainer, they would fight all day and night but the man was off on business and Amir was rather bored with everything..

Dhiren gave only curt nods to the staff as he strolled through the halls of his parent's castle, a bored expression on his face as he moved. War was on the horizon for many of the neighboring kingdoms, and their castle was becoming rather overwhelmed with noblemen and women seeking refuge in their powerful kingdom. Even ally countries sent their young princes and princesses to keep them out of harms way.

Dhiren himself is the second to oldest son of the king, but despite his age he is favored to assume the role of king. With a sharp mind and a charismatic demeanor he he far out shined his lazy elder brother. Dhiren looked the part of the charming nobleman, with raven black hair that he he kept combed back away from his face, and settled neatly around his shoulders. His clothes were dark, black mixed with rick colors, and his simply family emblem on the breast of his tunic. All fitted to show off his power physique.

He gave another quick duck of his head as a noblewoman brushed by, giggling behind her hand before scurrying away. For all his charm and smiles, it was increasingly boring for the prince. He even found himself studying swordsmanship with the knights in training, knowing how unlikely it was he would be sent to war, to pass time in the dreary castle.

((Sorry, quick post but I gotta head to bed))

As the days went by and the war continued on, Amir was more and more.. interested. He was interested in the assassins that attempted to get into the castle.. he would watch from the windows day and night, watching the guards and the Knights that were brought in, holding their little lanterns at night.. There had been two attempts so far, both assassin's killed before they even reached the castle.. but it was apparently enough to make the king nervous..
Amir found out that he was being shipped to a larger castle, one that held better guards and thicker walls..
Amir had never been more excited in his entire life..
Face serious, knives at the ready, he stood outside with his father, watching the large knight who would be escorting him to the castle ready his horse. Amir had his hair back in a tight braid so it would be out of the way, on his skinny hips was a loose belt that held many things, pepper powder, some small knives, a little pouch of dried leaves that when thrown right into someone's face it cold paralyze them almost immediately. Just some little things his father forced him to bring for security, though Amir was sure that if anyone was to attack them they wouldn't live through it...
The knight traveling with him was huge, hulking and his weapon was almost ridiculous.. A huge silver sword with strange engravings on it.. his horse was even bigger.. Apparently his name was Sir Harold, Amir thought the name wasn't fitting at all.. rather.. bookish for the hulking knight, but he said nothing and easily slid onto his horse, taking he reins of his small grayish horse, feeling tiny next to the giant black horse the knight rode.. He had blond hair and the lightest blue eyes, not something Amir found.. attractive.. so he wasn't worried about their little trip.. or getting distracted..
Two days..
Two days was how long it took to get to this castle.. and in these two days Amir experienced so many things..
Smells.. plants and water and sweat..
Feeling.. the soreness of his legs and arms and his entire body..
Hearing.. animals and wind and the grunt of their horses..
It was so beautiful.. so free.. But they reached the huge castle, the gray giant in the distance and soon it was upon them, like a gigantic fairy tale, and the stoic prince was almost overwhelmed.. though he would NEVER show anyone that.. As the knight took their horses and went to stay with the other guard.. Amir was pushed inside the castle to mingle about the rich and royal, fingers itching at his knives, sliding his fingers over the laqured handles hidden under his long sleeves.. Amir didn't.. like to mingle.. so he managed to sneak away, slipping out of the crowd and too a long hallway covered in windows and paintings.. a strange little hallway which he liked very much, and Amir decided right then that he was going to go there everyday..

Another boring day of instruction on etiquite left Dhiren feeling unusually restless and eager for some form of excitement. Something so many other spoiled nobles would alleviate by the tender ministrations of the opposite sex. But no matter how he tried, he could never see taking a woman to his bed as anything more then a chore, Something boring and lacking in pleasure...

Instead, he rested a hand on the pummel of the short sword worn at his side, and considered sneaking into the yard again to spar with the men out there. "Prince Jaegar?" Called a tiny voice behind him, and the man could only groan softly.

He turned, gazing down at the tiny witch as she came up behind him. In her arms were a stack of thick books, scrolls, and peices of parchment with sloppily written notes scrawled across them. He bent over, plucking one piece off the top to try to read the scrawl. What he could make out made little sense to him and he shook his head. "Yes, Miss Lockra?" He asked, bowing and giving her his most charming smile, which only seemed to serve to make the witch uncomfortable.

Indeed, she did shift slightly, taking the chance to glance down at her sheets. "A nearby kingdom sent a prince and escort to stay with us, high priority." She told him, pretending to read the scrolls. "Your father wants you to meet with the prince, solidify your treaty... Also, could you ask them both to come up to see me? I need to ensure they didn't pick up any diseases on the outside. It wont take long."

Dhiren sighed softly and nodded. "Of course." He responded without a pause. He spun on his heel after giving the little brunette a small nod, and set off through the castle, searching for the new faces.

It wasn't until he reached a long hallway, in an isolated part of the castle, that he finally spotted the thin prince in the hallway. "Good afternoon." He called, striding quickly towards the other man, and outstretched a hand. "My father sent me to greet you."

((I hope it doesn't seem like I am pushing the story ^^ ))

Amir was standing next to the window, staring down at the knights congregating in the stables below, seeing the blond knight tying up the two horses they had traveled on before taking off his heavy helmet and setting it aside, stretching his large body. The prince wondered what it felt like to be that muscled.. he had always been so thin and could never get muscled no matter how hard he tried..
Flicking out a small knife from his sleeve, Amir started to play with the blade, resting against the wall and enjoying the silence.. though it didn't last for long.. Soon there was someone coming near him and Amir looked at them slowly, his green eyes sizing the young man up immediately before he slowly reached out and took his hand, giving him a nice firm handshake.
"Prince Amir.. a pleasure to meet you.." He said softly, taking a small step back to bow lightly, one arm resting at his waist, the other at his lower back, the regional polite bow that royal families gave one another. The bow was beautiful, his loose cloths hanging off of his skinny body, a bit of his long hair loose from his tie to hang lightly in his face, off setting the paleness of his smooth skin. "My father.. was worried of my assassination.. though I doubt I am that important.. I honestly don't see why anyone would try to kill me but nonetheless.." Amir said with a little sigh and leaned back against the wall, staring down at the prince, feeling tense.. like the air had gotten thicker since the other male had walked in..

(( It doesn't seem that way at all! I love it! Don't worry! ^^ ))

Dhiren's grin widened slightly as the other prince took his hand, shaking it firmly in return. "I am Dhiren Jaeger." He said in reply, flashing a well trained smiled. Despite his thin appearance the man seemed to have a decent amount of strength to him, and the expert way that he was flicking the knife out of his sleeve when he had approached, examining it between his fingers, led the man to believe that this prince had at least some idea of what he was doing with the weapon.

"You have not paid much attention in political relations, have you?" Dhiren commented softly, raising a dark brow to stare at prince Amir. "You are a prince. Your assassination would leave your kingdom short a heir, and the scramble to replace you would leave the country vulnerable, in many ways. You might be a small kingdom, but you still have hundreds of thousands of subjects, who would be left in a state of panic. The fall of one country leads to the weakening of every country allied to it, including mine." He explained in a bored tone, leaning against the wall across from the other man.

A quick glance out the window sent the other prince chuckling. "It seems our witch has found your knight." He commented, watching the tiny girl slowly approach the blond giant.

~~

Teyha knew better than to believe that Dhiren would actually deliver their newest guests up to her potion room, where she performed basic examinations. The man was aggravatingly unreliable, when there was no obvious benefit to him. She spent several minutes quietly asking the nobles where the prince and his bodyguard were, before she learned the knight was outside, securing their horses.

She moved outside, and it didn't take her long to spot the muscular man. "Hello?" She called from behind her, her quiet voice barely audible above the sound of the horses. She paused here, her hands folded in front of her as she waited for the man to turn around, shifting uncomfortably from foot to foot.

The dark haired prince let out a little tut under his breath to the initial question, glancing at the shorter prince and staring, thin long arms crossing over his thin chest. He listened quietly, to what the other prince had to say, clenching his jaw, eager to speak.. but the other man kept going.. and going.. and when he stopped Amir bit his lip before speaking, clicking his tongue against the top of his mouth.
"I understand that.. I don't understand why my father had me sent here.. to be trapped inside here.. I can fight off the likes of an assassin.. I sleep with my knives.." Amir mumbled unhappily, looking back over his shoulder and out the window, seeing the large knight and the tiny woman walking toward him.
"Hmph.. she'll be lucky to get a damn word out of that man.. he didn't talk to me the entire way here.." The tall prince mumbled softly and brushed a bit of hair out of his face, turning back to Dhiren, staring at him for a moment. "Where do we bathe around here? I'd like to get some of this dirt off of my skin.."

~~

Sir Harold was securing the ropes on the horses when he heard the tiny little voice come from behind him.. The huge man turned around slowly, his armor creaking against itself, shaggy blond hair hanging around his face and his pristine blue eyes stared at the tiny girl, a slight little flush coming to his cheeks.
"Hello.." He said softly, his voice was deep and soft, holding his heavy helmet with both hands, the large red feather stuck to the top billowing in the wind. Harold could see from the scroll and books that this girl must process him, as everyone must be processed, and he gave her a little smile friendly and kind. "Would you.. mind if I hang my armor up before we go..? It's a little heavy.. and I wouldn't want to be clanging around the castle.." Harold said with a tiny smile, shifting where he stood, easily holding the armor up but two days riding in it took it's tole on his muscles..

Dhiren smirked up at the other man, dark eyes flashing in humor. "You'll find she's not a very talkative person either." He commented. "Makes her company far more enjoyable than the simmering, giggling maidens who roam the castle grounds." He shook his head slightly at the thought of the overly proper women vying for the attention of him and his older brother. "In any case, she only wishes to ensure you and your knight didn't pick up any diseases on your travels, pests, or anything of the sort. She is responsible for the health of the castle."

He gave it a dismissive wave of the hand, "In any case, Prince Amir, you're only as trapped as you allow yourself to be." He leaned forward to grin at the man. "I was going to go to the castle grounds and join in the training classes for knights, care to join me? You can put your knives to the test against some of our experienced recruits."

~~

Teyha stared up as the giant knight turned to face her, his cheeks slightly pink. She tilted her head to the side, wondering if the flush was a symptom of a fever, and she stepped forward. "Of course, just one second." She told him, and turned to set the stack of books and parchment on a small tool table, sighing softly when the weight was off her. She turned back, and walked briskly to him, gently putting a hand on his shoulder to pull him down, while she stood on her toes. She pressed the back of her hand lightly to his forehead, then to his cheek. "You're not running a fever..." She whispered. "You've probably been in the sun too long though, and armor is quick to overheat a man. By all means, take it off and I'll lead you upstairs."

Amir just let out a soft hmph at the thought of the sniveling girls that danced around these corridors, sure that they were no different from the ones that ran around his own castle back home.. "Mm.." Was his only reply, playing with the handle of his knife under his long sleeve, hiding it quietly, rubbing the smooth handle with his thumb, he did it almost all the time..
When the other prince waved the subject of girls off he looked over and stared at him, seeing the grin and the way he leaned forward and it made the tall prince actually blush, leaning back with a little blink. "What..?" He whispered, surprised at first, but a slow grin rose onto his lips and he licked his bottom lip lowly. "I've been itching to get my knives into something.." Amir whispered softly, grinning down at the prince who was about to become his best friend..

~~

Sir Harold felt himself blink a few times when the tiny girl suddenly set down her books and came toward him.. the giant knight wasn't the kind of man to be used to being touched by women.. not since.. a long time ago.. When the girl's hand gently touched his shoulder and leaned so close to him, her soft palm resting against his sweaty forehead and bristly cheek.. sending a spark of tingles through his face.

The large man wasn't so used to being touched by a woman.. sure the other knights tried to get him in bed with bar maids or simple maiden's but the man wasn't interested.. he didn't like the thought of having sex with some stranger.. especially someone he didn't love.. so the girl touching him left the large knight practically speechless, stumbling a bit, trying to speak through the tightness in his throat..

"Yes.. I shall do that.." He whispered shyly, staring at her with wide blue eyes before he turned to the little stall where knights took off their armor so the stable boys could clean them, tugging it off piece by piece, trying not to let his hands shake a she set the large, heavy metal down on the racks made for them..

Dhiren simply chuckled, and straightened, a wide grin on his face. He gestured over his shoulder for Amir to follow. "Your knives will get a good workout here. Our knights are well trained and very skilled. If you wish to have a a knife fight, the courtyard is where you will find it." He started off at a brisk pace, walking towards the end of the hallway. "Let's bipass the giggling maidens, shall we?" He asked, turning his eyes back to the other man, a smirk growing on his face. With a firm push the wall moved backwards, only a low groan of stone against stone. He grunted from effort as his fingers found small groves in the stone, and he pressed into them for a grip, sliding it to the side with another deep moan. "Come, there are hundreds of passageways in this castle." He told the man with another devious smirk. "We can get right to the courtyard."

If Teyha had known about what Harold had gone through, she would never have touched him like that. Her own past wasn't dissimilar from his, in essence. She was only a year older when her brother began to sexually assault her, sneaking into her room to take advantage of her while the house slept, only to flee when she was startled awake. Despite her begs and pleas, neither her parents or the authorities paid her accusations much head, and as time marched on, the situation only grew worst. Last year, Teyha was at her lowest. She doubted her own sanity, and frequent suggestion to end her own life were starting to wear on her fragile psyche.

Even the worst situations can turn on a dime. Teyha's blossoming magical abilities began to gain praise in her small village, and the more she studied and grew, the more the acclaim spread. Eventually, word reached the castle, and talented mages were a rare enough find that it attracted royal interest.

Everything had come together for her after that, and led to the uncomfortable encounter between kindred spirits there in the courtyard. A girl who never experienced what it was like to be on the outside looking in, now found herself staring wide eyed up at the knight, wondering what she had done to offend the man. "I'm sorry." She whispered, quickly stepping back to her books. She gathered them in her arms once more, and stood by the table, not watching as the man undid the straps on his armor. "If I offended you, I was worried you were catching a fever. I am the white witch here, tending to the injured or sick is my job."

Amir was almost shivering with excitement at the thought of using his sharpened knives.. he hadn't been able to in days and it was making his fingers itch uncomfortably.. "Yes.. I'd rather like to bypass the giggling girls.." He said softly as he stepped up behind Dhiren and blinked as the boy started to push at the wall and grunt.. It made the tall prince blush and shift a bit as the other moaned and groaned as he tugged at the wall, the sonds making his face feel strangely hot and he wondered what the hell was wrong with him.. too baffled to even ask if the boy needed help..
It took Amir a moment to realize that there was a staircase inside, his eyes actually wide and surprised for once in his life.. "Wow.." He whispered softly and stepped in behind Dhiren, watching him close the little door and it was suddenly dark inside, making him shift. "Um.. how do we.. see the stairs?" He asked softly in the echo-y hallway.

When the girl spoke again, Harold looked up quickly and stared at her, his cheeks so red now that it was obvious he was blushing. "N-No!" He whispered, stumbling for words.. trying not to make he look so sad.. Hastily tugging off the rest of his armor, Harold stumbled over to the short girl and slid his fingers through his blond hair, only wearing his low cut blue tunic and matching cotton pants, soft leather shoes on his feet that he wore inside of his boots.
"Y-You didn't.." He started, staring at the girl before looking down at his feet, shifting a little, looking rather silly since he was so huge.. "You didn't offend me, miss.." He whispered, swallowing a bit before he glanced back down at the girl with a small smile. "I just.. am not used to being touched.. by such soft hands.."

Dhiren couldn't help but to laugh at the princes reaction, and he leaned against the wall for a moment, catching his breath. "Most castles have a few hidden passageways. For all the glamour and beauty in architecture, castles have one real purpose. To keep occupants safe." He grinned, and grabbed a long oak stick from the wall, it's end wrapped in something that appeared to be several greasy towels. He hung it on the wall while he fished a piece of flint and metal from his pocket, and struck it by the end. In just a few whacks a spark set the cloth burning, and the grease was quick to ignite, burning brightly. "Follow me." Dhiren told Amir with a smirk, moving down the staircase. "The maids will see the wall and set it right, do not worry."

Teyha took a step back when the hulking blond stumbled forward, trying to unhook his armor while walking. The powerful looking man studied the ground in front of his feet with a blush on his cheeks. For a moment she was shocked, and stared, before a smile tugged at her lips, and she laughed. "To be honest, I am not used to touching others." She admitted. "But it is my job, must care for your health, and I'm afraid that means contact." She smiled once more, and embraced her magic. Her eyes closed for a moment as the bliss of the source filled her, and she weaved thin threads of air to pick up the armor, teetering precariously on the edge of the table where Herold had set them in his haste, and put them carefully on the shelf. Once down she smiled up at the knight, and extended a hand. "We were not formally introduced." She commented. "My name is Teyha, I am the white witch... Or court healer.... Pleased to meet you."
