Chadwick noticed Paxton nod to him and he returned one back before reaching forward and grabbing a cup of orange juice and taking a sip. He watched Paxton for a brief moment to try and get a good look at the guy, he had never met the man and he had only heard little about him so he really didn't know what to make of the guy. Chadwick finished his juice quickly then stood up, grabbed his gun then began to make his way towards the entrance to the great hall. As he was walking he reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette, he then looked around the room once more and left. There was no way he was going to start class without having a smoke beforehand.

"Is there ever a morning that we don't wake up late?" ,Cameron asked his brother Zachary as they made their way into the Great Hall to grab a quick breakfast before classes started.

Zachary simply laughed, "Well if you weren't up all night writing in your little notebook maybe you'd get up earlier" ,he teased.

The two sat down at the Slytherin table away from everyone else noticing almost everyone at their table were engaged in conversation with one another. Both Zachary and Cameron didn't mind sitting away from everyone else though they always had each other to talk to and usually they kept to themselves anyway. Cameron made a plate of eggs and bacon with some toast then began eating rather quickly.

"Easy Cam you've got time you don't have to eat so fast you'll make yourself sick" ,Zachary stated.

"I just don't wanna be late for class" ,Cameron stated in response with a mouthful of food.

"You won't be late relax and don't talk with food in your mouth it's gross" ,Zachary responded.

Zachary had to calm Cameron down a lot mainly when it came to classes he knew exactly why Cameron got so worried about it all the time though. Cameron had a learning disability that made him progress slower then the other students in his grade it had been that way since he was a kid and even though he always acted like it didn't bother him Zachary knew it drove Cameron nuts and still does to this day. Zach sighed when Cameron continued to shovel in his food and simply shook his head as he made a plate for himself. Cameron finished his plate in record time then looked at the time.

"Cool I've still got a few minutes before class starts" ,Cameron stated.

"Yeah you've got a lot of time before class starts I told you" ,Zachary said in response.

After Zachary finished his food he looked at the time and then at Cameron, "Hey we still got a little time wanna walk around a bit?" ,he asked.

Cameron nodded before standing up and grabbing his bag. The two headed out of the Great Hall and into the corridors talking about random things as they walked.

Wendy had all she could do to stifle the shiver that ran down along her spine. She managed, but only just. Glancing over her shoulder, she gave Lucius a curt nod and watched him flounce off to class without a care in the world. He seemed to be on cloud nine and that was exactly where she wanted him to be and hoped he'd stay. She also hoped his curiosity had truly been piqued enough that he honestly would stop by the cove later on after classes. Indeed she would be there--whether or not he showed up. Those were her own words and, damn it, she had to follow through with them come hell or high water. Still, she had a good feeling he'd show up. His body language and manner had given her enough signals that she felt confident enough that he'd come. The key now was holding onto that interest and not letting it dwindle. She was certain she could manage. After all, this was something she'd been wanting for a while and felt she deserved. There were few who truly deserved a man such as Lucius and she fancied herself to be one of the few. Of course, she understood full well that it meant having to be crafty and intelligent in the approach. Then again, she couldn't blame Lucius for being bored by anyone who couldn't exhibit such fine qualities. When she thought about it, it was why she'd been pining... she admired the intellect just as much as the other qualities. Truly it was the whole package and not just the trifles on the surface that the others went for. Perhaps that was what set her apart and why... she would succeed.

When Lucius was finally out of sight up the corridor, Wendy let go of the door and let go of the breath she'd been holding. She had Potions to get to, though she doubted her mind would be dwelling much on the subject. No. It would be far too preoccupied on a very certain Slytherin and the things they'd be doing later on at the cove.

Oh, Sydney hadn't laughed like this in what seemed like ages! Her sides were beginning to hurt from the giggles that were escaping her lips. Honestly, it was amazing as to how much she'd needed this bit of laughter and how much better it made her feel after the insults both she and Noelle had heard earlier that morning. As she continued to laugh, she brought a hand up to try and stifle the sound, her other hand clutching her side. "Oww..." she exclaimed, her blue eyes shifting between Lane and Snape. "You're making my side hurt!" She then nudged Lane for his antics and gave him a silly glare. The banter between Lane and Snape was more than lifting her spirits and she was wondering how she it was she hadn't really talked to them, especially Lane seeing as he was in her own house, before.

At that, Sydney began to slowly head toward the doors of the Great Hall, hoping that both Lane and Snape were following her and walking with her to class. They both were older and obviously not in the class with her, but it would be nice to have company on the way nonetheless. Regardless, breakfast had turned into something fun and for that she couldn't be happier.

Noelle couldn't stop thinking about what it would be like for Paxton Fettel to kiss her. It was an interesting thought to say the least and it led to some other very interesting thoughts as well. It made her wonder if the man was able to do more than just kiss. Could he touch? Would he? It was all rather intriguing to think on and the idea of such things made her cheeks grow rather warm. Who knew such a conversation over tea leaves and insults could lead to such lurid thoughts. At least her thoughts were her own...

At that, Noelle, bit down on her lip, and pushed open the doors of the Great Hall. She had class to get to... but those thoughts... Letting out a sigh, she glanced over her shoulder, her pale eyes scanning the sea of faces mulling about the vast expanse of a room. Pity she was so odd. Oh yes, she knew what others said about her. Though it still would be nice to see that man smile... when her eyes finally found Fettel, she smiled. Slowly, she turned back around and began to hum as she made her way to class and face the day.

Noelle felt a bit frazzled as she walked into the Great Hall. Her mind was muddled and confusing thoughts seemed to be running rampant through her mind. One moment, she was wondering what it might be like to be kissed and the next minute, the mouth she imagined kissing her was spewing acidic words her way... reminding her of time back at primary when things had been much rougher than they seemed to be at university. For whatever reason, she'd always been a target, that sort who was preyed upon by others. She was aware of this. Merlin knew it was hard not to be aware of it. Her peers called her 'freak' or worse every chance they got and she supposed her own eccentricity and choice of 'likes' didn't help matters.

But that was where the coping helped. Yes, the coping. It was easier to pretend the nonsense didn't happen, to act unfazed and unfettered by all of it no matter the cost. Most of the time, it kept the worst at bay. Most of the time... As Noelle sat down by herself at Gryffindor Table, her fingers slipped beneath the sleeve of her blouse and sweater. The tips just barely grazed the first of the scars. Just then she winced, her eyes closing as memories flooded her mind. A single cup of tea appeared on the table, steam rising up into the air as it sat there. Waiting.

Noelle remembered that day so clearly--the words, the insults, the gropes. Thankfully, it didn't go past that... Though the other curses and such stung just as deeply and she bore the scars as reminders. She recalled the immobilis spell and then those burns. But no matter how much she cried out, no one heard her. Silencio... silencio... no one could hear a muted witch cry out in pain.

Just then, Noelle reached for her tea and took a sip. As she drank the tawny liquid, a plate of white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies appeared. She giggled softly at the sight of them. They were exactly what she needed after her earlier encounter in the corridors. Exactly what she needed.

The cookie was sinfully delicious, the perfection piece of confectionery sweets she could've asked for. Honestly, Noelle had to hand it to the House Elves. They truly had outdone themselves with this batch. She nibbled on a few cookies, taking her time with them and savoring the taste as she let it swirl about her tongue before swallowing down each bite she took.

"Mmm..." Noelle sighed happily, her body relaxing a little. She leaned against Gryffindor Table, her bag sitting idly on the floor next to her. Slowly, she was feeling a bit better, the prickly thoughts of earlier ebbing away. Yes, the cookies were just what she'd needed indeed. She then looked over at the cup of tea that had appeared, steam rising up from the dainty cup waiting for her to reach over and pick it up.

Noelle studied the cup a little as she continued to eat her cookies. It was a white porcelain and on it were tiny little pink rosebuds. She wondered why the cup looked as it did. Was there a reason for it? Her inner Ravenclaw pondered this, wondered if perhaps the House Elves knew more than they liked to let on or if, perhaps, they were just being cheeky. Regardless, she was fond it, found it pretty and delicate. She smiled when she finally reached out to let her fingers slip about the handle to pull it close and finally bring the rim against her lips and take a sip.

"Ahh..." Noelle let out on a slow exhale. The tea was just as delicious as the cookies. It was a green varietal, perfect for the afternoon. When done, she bit down on her lip, her eyes catching sight of the leaves settling at the cup's bottom. Dare she peek? Dare she... divine?

The urge was far too great and finally Noelle had no choice but to give in. She scowled softly to herself, snickers hitting her ears in the background--though she tuned them out, damn them!--and peered into her cup. She furrowed her brow as she tilted her cup this way and that, trying to make sense of what she was seeing, what she was reading. Then, she arched a brow. As clear as day, the symbols were coming together, just... what did they mean? What were they trying to tell her?

A heart. And then a tear drop? Oh she wasn't sure if that was what it was, but the one appeared to be something like a tear drop. And then there it was again. The Dark Mark. Noelle felt that chill run down her spine and she shivered.

"Freaky..." came a voice. Noelle shrugged it off.

As Noelle continued to look at the tea leaves, she saw another symbol. A Grim? Really? Immediately, her eyes widened.

"The Freak got spooked!" came another voice followed by a snicker.

Noelle turned to look at the speaker, her eyes locking onto his for a brief moment before she turned away. Slowly, she set her cup down not wishing to draw any more attention to herself. But from the sounds of the laughing across the way, it seemed she'd already had.

Noelle felt an ache rise in the pit of her stomach as she let her mind roll over the images she'd just seen at the bottom of her cup--heart, tear drop, Dark Mark... Grim. What did they mean? Were they connected? Oh, she had no idea. Suddenly, a strange feeling washed over her, the hair on the back her neck prickling as her skin broke out into gooseflesh. She shuddered as a chill ran along her spine.

"Grim..." Noelle whispered to herself. "Grim..." She swallowed hard, her hands immediately reaching for her bag. Suddenly, an image became so very clear, so very vivid. Was it foresight? It wasn't the first time she'd had such clarity in a vision, though such instances were rare, but...

"And the Princess of the Freaks goes," came that voice. Noelle could hear the malicious intent behind the words, a cruel tone intended to make her feel badly. She shrugged it off, her thoughts focusing on the all too brief vision and began making her way out of the Great Hall.

Astrid walked into the Great Hall, her tiny hand holding onto Kevin's arm. Slowly they headed toward Gryffindor Table. As they approached, she noticed the tea suddenly appear along with a plate of cookies. She had to hand it to the House Elves. As she reached for the plate, she could already feel the stares of the others meandering about and it unnerved her. She knew what they were thinking, wondering and she didn't like it. As soon as she had her tea in hand, she tugged a bit roughly on her hood.

Looking over at Kevin, she waited for him to retrieve his tea and the cookies. More than anything, she wanted to leave the large room. She felt unsettled and was starting to wonder why she'd even wanted to go there in the first place. Had she been mad? The forest would've been the better option. Then again, she'd needed the snack and... Kevin did seem decent company.

So far.

"Ready?" Astrid asked Kevin, her body starting to tremble a bit as she felt more stares in her direction. She even noticed a few boys starting to head her way, which made her wince. Had they caught sight of her face? Again, she pulled on her hood. "The forest awaits and the fresh air will be nice." She gave a curt nod, her one hand clutching her tea tightly.

Kevin grabbed his tea and his cookies, he could feel Astrid trembling and he wondered what had her shaken up, instead of asking what was wrong he looked to her and gave her a smile. He noticed the boys heading in their direction but he didn't think anything of it, "Yeah I'm ready, fresh air sounds good right about now" ,he stated in response to her. "Plus I can't wait to see what cool things the forest has in it". He kept the smile on his face to try and lift her up a bit he could tell she was nervous.

Astrid's eyes looked past Kevin for a moment and onto the boys heading their way. She recognized them from her earlier classes so no doubt they knew who she was. No doubt they felt the 'pull' and wanted to be closer and ogle. Holding tighter to her tea, she gave Kevin a nod. "Right then, lets go."

At that, Astrid wasted no time and began making her way toward the doors. Being outside and near the trees of the forest seemed perfect right then... anything to be away from the stares and potential... She shook her head as her thoughts turned dark. No, she wouldn't let her mind take her there, to those memories and those 'what ifs'. No. It was time to go outside, to the forest and to see what wonders it held.

Well, it was definitely seeming like Alice's second year at university was going to be exactly the same as her first--difficult. She loved the school and her classes. But once again, she was going to have to keep to herself for fear of too much word getting out about what she did during her 'off hours' to make ends meet. She had no choice. She needed the money if she wanted anything and everything else she found just didn't pay enough for what she was trying to get out of life. After all, she had standards and goals and as it was even those weren't being met. Yet. Thankfully, this was merely interim. Or so that was the plan. That was why she was at university... if only she could narrow things down and figure out what she wanted to major in!

UGH!

Alice scowled, her fingers tightly clutching her bag that was slung over her shoulder. Her knuckles were turning white from the tight grip, but she hardly cared. Her thoughts were already thinking about the job she had to go to later on in Hogsdale. She'd received an owl from the manager letting her know they wanted her to work that night when she'd specifically told them: WEEKENDS ONLY! So much for that. She wondered how many times she'd be able to brush that off. Probably never if she wanted to actually keep it. It had paid so well over the summer... even with the price she'd had to pay. But that was tiny in comparison to what she got in return. At least she still had some dignity.

And she was smart. Focused.

UGH...

Alice sighed. She knew the reality of it. But such was the way of her life for now. It was temporary. Yes, she'd hold onto that for the time being. Temporary. A stepping stone until she moved on to the next chapter of her life--one that would be far better than this one, somehow she just knew it. At that, she set her jaw and continued to make her way through the Great Hall, hoping none of the students or faculty would ever notice her in Hogsdale working at Raspberry Swirl.

Andrew took a deep breath, as he walked through the great hall. He felt like a kid again. Remembering back, when he first went to his school. Schools of wizardry, are just as fantastical now, as they were before. But, now, this time he was no longer a child. No longer a student. He was now, a teacher. And, hopes he would be a good one at that. Most, schools he applied to. Didnt want him as a teacher. They said he was too young, to inexperienced as a wizard. Most too proud. To admit his ability in Transinfiguration. "Huh... Fools." He said to himself. They were. And he was happy they were. He was now professor, a teacher, and a mentor at the greatest university. Hogwarts university to be exact. He was not sure how the students, and faculty would react to him. But, was hopefull he would recieve a good reception. With a deep breath, he looked to the ground. Not sure how life will end up for him here. He gripped his folder of papers tightly, and began to walk forward. Looking up to late to stop...

"Oof..." Was the sound he made, when he reached a stiff resistance. And fell to the ground. His papers flying every where. "Dam.." He said, as he rubbed his head. He looked over to the girl he ran into, and with a blush he quickly stood up. "I am so sorry mam." He said, with a smile. She was a blond, beauty. And, seemed to be a student here. So, he felt even more embarrassed.... But, would soon find it easy to hide his blushing face. He looked down, to realize, his folder of papers were every where. And quickly went to his knees to pick them up. "I am again sorry, but... Would it be allright if you helped me?" He was running late for his own meeting with the Headmaster. And needed to get things in order for himself. He did not want to make a bad first impression with him. So, he needed to work fast at getting his research papers. "Please?..." He asked, as he looked up into her light blue eyes.

Frowning at her choices--to tell her boss she'd work that night even though she had school the next day OR to tell her boss she wouldn't and then deal with potentially very harsh consequences as a result of such a decision--Alice continued her way through the Great Hall. Her pale eyes drifted to the floor as she fought with herself over what to do about her current situation. Neither choice had a pleasant outcome so it was a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils. Was their a lesser though? She let out a sigh just then. Truly, she didn't believe there was and... oh how unfair it was for life to do that!

"Ooofff!" Alice then groaned as something hard suddenly struck against her small body.

Shaking her head, Alice blinked several times trying to get her bearings. Tucking a stray lock of blonde behind her ear, she realized she'd just run into someone. Or had they run into her? It was hard to say. Either way, he was now on the floor scrambling to try and pick up papers that had strewn themselves all over the cold, stone floor.

"Yeah, sure," Alice then said as she set down her bag. "I'll help. I'm sorry." She bit down on her lip and got down on her hands and knees next to the man, her hands reaching for papers as she was able. She could feel her cheeks burning slightly with embarrassment. What a mess she'd made and on the first day back too. And all because her mind had been too preoccupied with nonsense.

UGH! Nonsense! She really needed to figure out what she was going to do. But oh, who was she kidding. Alice knew she'd go to Raspberry Swirl. She couldn't risk losing her job. The pay was too good and she needed that damned money and so far it was respectable enough even if it was... somewhat... lurid? Just the thought made her wince inwardly.

Shaking it off, Alice continued to help pick up the papers. "Sorry about the mess," Alice then said, trying to break the awkwardness of the situation. "My name is Alice, by the way. Second year, Gryffindor."

He smiled as she began to help him. "Thank you." He said as he continued to scuddled around, picking up his papers."I am Andrew, Andrew Finik." He said, as he took a quick glance at her. "I am a new, teacher. To be exact, I am a professor in Transfiguration. I was, in Slitherin... And, guess I still am. At heart at least" As he spoke, his hand reached, and grabbed hers. His finger's brushing along her soft hand. Her hand, on the last couple of papers. "S-sorry." He said as he stood back up. Taking what papers she had from her hand. He then placed them back in his folder, and helped her back onto her feet. "It is rather nice to meet you Alice. "

He looked over the girl, she was a fox. But, he couldn't think of such things. A teacher for five minutes, and he already thought of his students Beauty. "Uhum..." He said clearing his throat. "So... Beautiful day... Isnt it." He said, trying to be less awkward. But, that would be a feat if he could possibly, be less awkward then he already is. "Whew is it hot in here or is it just me." He joked, as he pulled at his collar. His suit, wrinkled, and dirty from previously falling. He hated how he acted like a goof. And wished he was introduced to her by more subtle means. But, such is life. A series of miss fortunate events.

Alice smiled a bit as Finik... no, that just didn't seem to fit. Andrew. As Andrew introduced himself. He had a nice manner and kind way about him. She found that a rather refreshing trait, especially for a Slytherin. Most of her encounters with Slytherins had been rather lacking, but she figured a lot of that had to do with her blood status. The Great Wizarding War of the past might have been over, but the thoughts and ideals had hardly died with Voldemort. That's right. She'd say it. She had no qualms mentioning that name that made most witches and wizards cower and shiver. The way she saw it, that bastard existed and the magical world had to face the facts that such things occurred, like it or not. Best to face it and learn from it. After all, how were they to ever ensure not repeating things in the future? Ah, but it was hard to convince people of such things.

"You're welcome, professor," Alice said, her lips still turned upward in a bright smile. "Yes, it's been a nice day," she then added. Though her own was about to get dark. Knowing she had to skulk off to Hogsdale and stay out past curfew was not to her liking. Of course, she knew she could make it back undetected if she was quiet enough. It's not like she was planning to do anything ridiculous. But...

Just then, Alice's eyes drifted to Andrew as he began to fidget. Was he nervous? She bit down on her lip as she watched him, his hands moving to adjust himself after he'd helped her up from the floor. As she scanned him over, she noticed the blush, the way he stood...

"Yeah," Alice then said as she moved to take off her robe. "It is rather warm in here." She hoped her comment helped put Andrew a bit more at ease. She knew what it was like to be nervous, to be the 'new person'. She'd bounced from home to home and even state to state after her parents had died. But she cut that memory short, not wanting to think on it more than she needed to. "I like the colder weather myself. Can't wait for winter," she added with a soft giggle. "Winter is beautiful here. A hushed quiet just comes over the place. I'm looking forward to it."

Alice looked at Andrew and wondered where he might be heading off to with all those papers. The day had ended, but perhaps he had somewhere to go or be. Professors had lives to. She wondered what his was like.

"So, uh, where you off to?" Alice then asked as she gestured to Andrew's papers that he now held in his hands.

He was happy she couldn't tell he was so embarrassed, or at least he hopes she couldn't tell. And, if she could, he was even happier she wouldn't tease him on it. "Winter is nice. It is fun, and beautiful. But there are things more elegant then winter." He said, with a small smile. He said this, as he looked into her bright, blue eyes. Almost, as if he said it as a compliment to her. Did he? Andrew couldnt tell. He was too flustered to know what he really was thinking. Or, what he was doing, for that matter. "Where am I going...?" He couldnt remember. Something to do with... "Snap!" He said, as he looked up the nearby staircase. "I need to meet with the headmaster!" He looked back to her. Almost shuttering at the thought of leaving her, at such short notice. He only just met the girl, and now he is about to rudely leave. "Well, I must bid you farewell." He said, in a polight manner. "It was really, really nice meeting you Alice. But... I will see you around. You have a wonderful evening." He then shakes her hand nicely, before walking off. When she was out of site, he began to dash forward. Not wanting to be a prude, and run in front of her.

As he rushed up the stairs, he nears the path to the headmasters chambers. And, then slowly turns his dash into a slow paced walk. With a few deep breaths, he comes along to a young man. "Are you Ansrew Finik?" The young man said. "Why yes... Who might you be?" Andrew said, as he came to a halt. "I am Leonard Yomen. I was sent to meet up with you, and take you to your chambers... You are late." He said, obviosly displeased. "M-my bad... Uh... I was suposed to-" Andrew was cut off by Leonerd. "Yes, but he is busy. And will speak with you tomorow. Now, follow me." He said, as he began to walk off. With a deep breath. Andrew followed. They soon made their way far into the castle. Near the dungeons. And to a large green door. "This will be your chambers." Leonerd said. As he unlocked the door, and opened it. He then left without so much as a fare well. "What an odd, disrespectful man." Andrew said, as he entered his room. Closing the door behind him.

He quickly got to work. Unpacking his bags, and placing things where he wanted them. Placing his pictures, of him and his brother, together. Neatly in order, year by year of school, until the one from ten days ago. The last time they spent together, before leaving to the uk. "I miss you allready." He said, as he softly touched the picture. A brother, is family. But a twin... A twin is a part of you. A part of your soul. Any moment... Any time... Spent apart. Is like being without a part of your self. It is like leaving behind, a chunk of your soul. And it sits their, eating away at you. Making you sick, and lonely. Ten days, and he allready wants to drop everything and go home.... But he cant. He needed this. This was a huge step in his career! A huge step in the right direction. Even if he missed his brother, he had to pull himself together. Besides, he would be made fun of by him if he didnt go through with this.

He got to the finishing touches in his room. And, unbeknownst to him, time had practically flown by. It was a little later in the day. And, with nothing else to do, he decides he wanted to go and see the town for himself. After all, he will be living there for some time.

Everything that happened next was a blur, but Alice supposed that was for the best. Andrew most certainly had better things to do than converse with her and, dear Merlin if he even remotely knew where her thoughts had been prior to his bumping into her, he'd probably have not bothered to speak to her in the first place. After all, who'd want to talk to a witch of her stature? One who felt the need to work the job she did for the pay she received. Most would probably think she was selling out... of course, she couldn't fault them, to an extent. To some, it might look bad. But she had her pride and her dignity. She was Gryffindor, damn it! But she had to make her way somehow until she finished school and she wasn't fortunate enough in her connections.

Bah... why was she rationalizing? Alice didn't even know Andrew and he didn't know her and she was already presuming judgment. He'd probably never find out, just like no one at the school probably would. They'd be none the wiser and she was perfect content with that. It worked out well the year before and over the summer, so why not this year?

Why not...

"Sure, no problem. See you," Alice said giving Andrew a wave as he made a dash for the exit.

Alice let out a soft sigh and went to the Gryffindor Table so that she could grab a quick bite to eat. She had no plans on staying long in the Great Hall. She had a night life to see to thanks to her unexpected owl and the best time to make a quiet exit would be while everyone gathered where she currently was. Given that, she hurriedly ate and then gathered her things and finally made her way to the doors and out into the corridors.

Stacey walked into the great hall and took a look at her house table but did not go over and sat down instead she waited by the doors to for Zach and Kasey. She felt her tummy growl but she did not think the others of the house of sytherien would like her sitting at their table unless Zach and Kasey was there. She also thought it rude to stat eating with out them.

Kasey and Zach walked into the great hall arm in arm like they usually walked, most people thought they were a couple and they liked to play off of it a little every now and then. As soon as they spotted Stacey they made their way over to her, when they got to her both of them put an arm around the girl, "Well hello beautiful it has been WAY too long since we last seen you" ,Kasey stated before planting a kiss on her cheek. It was a friendly gesture and Kasey hoped the girl didn't mind.

"Come on sexy let's go eat" ,Zachary stated with a smile before leading the way to the Slytherin table. When he got to the table he looked at his fellow housemates that were already there, "I have a friend coming to sit with us, she's a Ravenclaw and really sweet so if any of you bitches have a problem take it up with me and Reyes cuz we invited her" ,he stated knowing a few of the Slytherins may disapprove. He got a few dirty looks from a group of four Slytherins that were sitting with each other, Zachary placed a hand on his hip then looked at them, "Problem?" ,he asked before tilting his head slightly. The four simply looked away from him and continued with their conversation. Zachary then looked over to Kasey and Stacey with a smile and motioned for them to join him before he sat down.

Kasey laughed at how Zach pretty much told everyone at the table how it was, she knew some of their fellow housemates wouldn't mind Stacey being there at all but she also knew how some of her housemates were towards outsiders and she was glad Zachary made it clear that he wasn't going to take any bullshit. She looked over to Stacey, "Come on let's go get some chow, most of the people at our table are really nice but there are a few that like to pick on people who aren't Slytherins or pure bloods, it's stupid, Zach got ya covered though we'll just stay away from the jerks and sit with the cool people" ,Kasey said before taking Stacey's hand and walking her over to the table to sit down.

Stacey smiled and giggled as she got a kiss from Kasey . She smiled and said "yea way too long was starting to think i was too much for you two to handle";. she smirked right after she said this playing along letting them know she did not mind their playful mood.

She let Zach lead her and Kasey to the slytherin table when she got there she cold not help but notice that the whole table looked up. She also noted that Zach stated he and Kasey invited her and if anyone had problem bring it up with them she almost wanted to go she did not want to cause them trouble and she was sweet but she can also have a temper. she decided to stick around and not let others chase her off she figure is their house too so they can invite who they want. She had to hold back a giggle at how he tilted his head and put his hand on his hip like he was ready to throw them around.

Stacey smiled at Kasey and let the girl lead her to the table and sat down next to her. She smiled over at Zach and said "thanks for inviting me and keeping the jerks away from me". she then slowly started helping herself to the food at the table and noticed she got some looks at her own house table. She did not care she started to eat and smiled at Kasey and Zach.

Betsy's first day at Hogwart's University had gone decently. She enjoyed her classes so far, which was half the battle--if only she could find her focus and figure out what exactly she liked best. But then again, she knew she had time. She had quite a few years before she had to declare a major and no doubt the faculty would help guide her as she moved through classes and the like. It wouldn't be like primary... and she wouldn't have the pressure of her parents. Not anymore. Not ever again. She'd made that clear upon leaving for university...

Just then, Betsy could feel her eyes pricking with tears, so she brought up a hand to wipe at them. As she did so, she could see her robes slipping a bit to reveal her arms and the horrid scars she'd inflicted on herself. Frowning, she brought her hand down quickly to hide them. She'd have to figure out a way to hide those. Perhaps there was a charm or some make up she could use. Although, the weather would be getting cooler soon enough and that would mean longsleeves would be acceptable... At that, she sighed heavily.

Betsy glanced around. She found the Ravenclaw Table once more, much like she had earlier that day, but she still hadn't made friends with anyone from her house yet or from any other house for that matter. Slowly, she began to make her way across the crowded room--how she hated crowds, especially when she didn't know people--so that she could sit for a bit. As she walked, she contemplated eating a little something, but frowned at the idea. Funny, she wasn't hungry. Then, it was rare that she ever truly was.

Kevin entered the Great Hall and looked around he was in a better mood then he had been before and Astrid had been the one to bring his spirits up and for that he was thankful. "You're a really great friend you know? Thank you for everything, I had a wonderful time with the wolves" ,Kevin told Astrid right before giving her a friendly smile. "If anyone ever gives you problems let me know, I'll always be here for you". He meant every word he spoke, Astrid had become a great friend to him in a matter of minutes and Kevin loved all of his friends, the few that he truly had and Astrid had definitely proven to be a true friend to him.

"Well well well there's my favorite Gryffindor boy, please excuse me I have to go say hello" ,Zachary stated looking at both Kasey and Stacey. He then stood up and smiled as he walked over to Kevin and the young woman he was with. When he reached Kevin he wrapped his arms around the young man then patted him on the back before resting his arm on Kevin's shoulder. "So Kev how was summer?" ,he asked. Zachary's eyes then shifted to the person he was with, "Who's this"?

Kevin had seen Zachary coming over and immediately got worried for Astrid. Zachary was a good guy but Kevin knew how Veela blood pulled men in and made them act....different then normal. When Zachary reached them Kevin looked to the man, Zach didn't seem to be affected at the moment but that was probably because Astrid had her hood up. "Summer sucked, this is Astrid she's a first year" ,Kevin stated in response.

"Well I'm sorry to hear about your summer Kev" ,Zachary replied. He then looked to Astrid and smiled, "I'm Zachary fourth year Slytherin" ,he told Astrid as he extended his hand.

Astrid followed Kevin into the Great Hall and almost immediately she could feel her body tensing, her senses on full alert. Already the stares had begun and the weight of those eyes was more than she could bear. Yes, she wouldn't be able to stay in the Great Hall for too much longer, not without issue and with Kevin's hand still in a bad way, the last thing she wanted to do was put him in a compromising situation.

Just then, Astrid saw a boy walking toward them, her instinct to move closer to Kevin as she tugged on her hood. As she took a step back, she noticed Kevin take a step forward, his arms reaching out. Did they know each other? Blinking, she suddenly realized that they did and she let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. At that, she let down her guard slightly, though she refused to push away at her hood. This boy might be a friend of Kevin's, but.... he could still potentially feel the 'pull' and she wasn't about to risk that out in such an open place as the Great Hall.

"Nice to meet you, Zachary," Astrid said softly, her voice melodic like sweet music. "Astrid, first year, Gryffindor." She smiled from beneath her hood as she reached out her hand to shake Zachary's extended hand. As she stood there, she glanced about the vast room to gain her bearings. She could still feel the stares, her body tensing once more. Though as she glanced about, she noticed that some of the faculty was missing. She wondered what was keeping them.

Curious, Astrid remained quiet while Kevin and Zachary chatted a bit, listening in to some of the whispers floating about the room. It seemed that most of the faculty was present and those not had other plans, but... had she heard the rumors correctly? Lupin is at it again...always working...skipping meals again... She furrowed a brow as she heard such whispers. She remembered him from her classes earlier in the day. He'd been kind, very absorbed in his work and she even remembered when he'd walked by earlier on that afternoon, his face pressed to the book he was reading. He most certainly hadn't felt the 'pull', or so it seemed anyway. Perhaps his love for his work was stronger... made sense.

Just then, Astrid turned toward Kevin. "I... I apologize, Kevin. I know I was going to stay for dinner, but..." More of those whispers struck at her ears and she felt terribly for the man who was selflessly researching to help others. Lupin had mentioned the WAF during his class and what he'd been doing and hoped to do. It had struck something inside her and touched her, but then she always thought it wonderful when people did for others. "But I have to do something." She felt her cheeks redden slightly and she moved closer to whisper in his ear. "I'm hearing talk that Lupin is missing dinner due to working on research. He's a quiet man and didn't seem affected by the 'pull'. And, well, I want to bring him something to eat. Silly, probably, but it'll make me feel better to do that for him since he was kind to me during his class and since it'll be quieter than here."

Astrid gave Kevin an apologetic look. Somehow she knew he'd understand. They had a connection now after their time with the wolves earlier and somehow she knew he wouldn't be offended and would know that it was just her nature to want to help someone in need.

As Betsy walked toward the Ravenclaw Table, she found herself getting a bit anxious, nervous. She was far from hungry and her mind was reeling on whether or not she'd be able to make some friends at university or not. It was supposed to be her turn now to call the shots... yet why did she feel so unsure of herself, so scared... Just then, she bumped into something hard. "Ooofff..." she groaned when she realized she'd bumped into a someone, not a something. As she looked at the boy, she looked down at the floor, her cheeks turning a bit red. She saw he was standing with another older boy along with a girl. Oh, what a first impression. Feeling so out of place, she dared to look up. "I... I'm sorry," she began. "I should've looked where I'm going."

"Nice to meet you as well Astrid" ,Zachary stated in response giving her a friendly smile. "So Gryffindor huh? Just like Kevin here, we'll all have to hang out sometime I'll bring Kasey and Stacey along and maybe Cam if Kasey isn't in the mood to rip his head off that day" ,Zachary joked.

When Astrid whispered into Kevin's ear he couldn't help but smile at her words, "Go ahead I understand, Lupin works hard he could probably use something to eat, don't let him refuse it ok" ,Kevin stated in response. He knew the professor was always working and researching trying to help others and that was something he admired so he had no problem with Astrid bringing him something to eat in fact he thought it was nice that she thought of him. "If you want we can meet up again sometime and go see our friends near the forest". Kevin gave her another smile before he felt someone bump into him, he barely moved an inch from the impact but it was rather hard and he worried for the person who had run into him.

"Oh my are you alright running into Kevin is like hitting a brick wall" ,Zachary stated.

"Yeah are you ok? Please don't apologize I shouldn't have been standing right in the middle of where traffic comes through" ,Kevin said before laughing lightly. "I'm Kevin and this is Zachary and Astrid, may I ask your name?" ,he asked right before extending his hand. Kevin hadn't realized that he was extending the bad hand for a moment but as soon as he did he quickly switched hands and offered her his good hand.

Astrid smiled as Kevin answered, his words both reassuring as well as comforting. She'd definitely found a kindred and dear friend in him and was so glad that they'd crossed paths. Giving him a nod, she whispered, "Please see to your hand before the night is out. Don't think I haven't forgotten." She gave him a knowing look from beneath her hood, one she was sure only he could see. At that, she turned toward Zachary as well as Betsy and smiled. "I apologize for having to duck out early, but I must tend to something. But we'll cross paths again soon," she said. "I'm glad to have met you." Giving them a wave, she tugged on her hood and quickly walked over to the nearest table.

Betsy waved at Astrid, giving the petite girl a smile as she left the group. She then looked over at both Zachary and Kevin, her cheeks burning as she gave them a sheepish grin. At least they were trying to make her feel better, which was far better than what she was used to back in primary. She might have been Slytherin, but she hadn't been one to mingle much and that had cost her dearly. Hopefully people at university were much more mature than the sorts she'd been used to dealing with... more accepting.

"I... I'm fine," Betsy stammered. "I really should've been watching where I was walking." She tried her best to smile. "My name is Elizabeth, but I like to go by Betsy..." She bit down on her lower lip, her hands clasping shyly, awkwardly in front of herself. She then noticed the one named Kevin extended his hand. At first she hesitated, not out of fear and not even because she was shy or nervous. But she'd noticed it didn't look quite right. It looked... injured. Suddenly, he pulled it away and offered his other hand. Smiling a little, she reached out and placed her hand in his. "Nice to meet you. I... I'm new. A first year. I was sorted into Ravenclaw..."

Meanwhile, Astrid grabbed a plate of rolls along with some honey-cured ham, vegetables and potatoes. She placed them on a tray with some pumpkin juice and covered it. Biting down on her lip, she adjusted her robes and made sure her hood was in proper place before she finally picked up the covered tray. Once she was sure she had a good hold of it, she began to make her way through the crowd of people, her goal to get out of the Great Hall and the heavy stares of onlookers as soon as possible. She just hoped that the food she was about to bring to Professor Lupin would be enough. After all, the man worked hard and what he was doing was a nice thing as far as she was concerned. She would just have to make sure he actually ate it.
