“oh my gosh, I can't believe we're actually going to do this!” a young woman gushed as she fiddled with 'specialized equipment'. It looked like an old fashioned radio, but apparently it was used to pick up the voices of ghosts. The three young women where excited about their new 'assignment'. They where amateur Ghost hunters, Sage had even dropped out of collage to join her two friends in their quest for the supernatural. Sage was the youngest, barley out of adult hood at twenty, she wasn't even legal to drink, not that it mattered, since she did anyway. Tina was next at twenty three, and she was the 'leader' of the little rag tag group of misfits. Alice was the oldest, but by far the most shy, she was twenty four, but was constantly getting picked on by anyone who had known her for more than a year... after all, being a Futa was hard to hide. Alice stayed with Sage and Tina, because they where the only ones she'd ever met who hadn't made fun of her. They treated her as if she was just another girl.

“we are doing it!”Tina chirped, delighted as she fiddled with an earring as she turned down a dusty path, into a long driveway that led into a massive mansion of an old, dilapidated 'castle'... at least, it kind of looked like a Castle, really it was a manor, and according to the local residents, very, very haunted. It was the perfect place for three young women to get their start in ghost hunting, and maybe even ghost busting. They all giggled as they pulled to a stop in front of the Manor, the sun shining high overhead, giving them bravery and confidence as they began to unload their things and head inside to stash everything in the foyer for the moment. They where going to have to explore the house, setting up their microphones and their camera's and all of their other equipment. They had permission to stay there for the month, and had brought enough food and water to not have to leave the house at all. Apparently the heat, and plumbing still worked, though all the lights in the house no longer worked. Which meant a lot of candles and firewood for the fireplaces.

It took them no time at all to have their truck unloaded, and everything stashed inside the house, they wouldn't have t leave for some time, and they didn't intend to until they had proof of the house being haunted or not. “i'm going to go find the kitchen!” Sage chirped, hefting the bags that held all of their food, most of it canned or in 'just add water' containers. She hefted the bags and headed off into the house to find the kitchen, and hopefully a wine cellar, while Tina and Alice started setting up microphones in the nearby library. Sage giggled a little to herself as she located the massive kitchen, setting the bags on a counter as she turned on the faucet, testing the water to see if it would get hot. She really didn't want to spend a month bathing in cold water after all. She nodded, pleased with the hot water spilling out of the Faucet and turned to the cupboards, grimacing at the dust and filth, and set about cleaning them out before stacking the hundreds of canned fruits, vegetables, and meats in neat rows so they wouldn't misplace their meals, humming as she worked.

Margaret Pennington looked down with fury from her portrait above the fireplace. Who were these intruders that dared to enter her house? Whoever they were, she'd drive them away like she had so many others. Foolish mortals! Always trying to communicate with the dead. As if they thought they had something to tell the dead. The dead were long past caring what the living had to offer.

But wait a minute. Looking at them closer, they looked a lot like her nieces. The same nieces who poisoned her in order to inherit the mansion and it's estate. The brazen hussies. That only infuriated Margaret even more. It was bad enough that she'd lost her sweet Michael in the war for southern independence. But that her nieces took advantage of her in her time of grief made it worse.

Margaret studied the girls closely, trying to decide how best to drive them away. It was then that she noticed one of them was different from the others. The taller and older one. My word! She had a bulge in her jeans. The kind of bulge Margaret recognized from her life with Michael. This was interesting. This would bear further investigation. Perhaps she was wrong. Maybe the living could offer something to the dead.

the three girls where giggling and looking around eagerly as they examined the old dusty things. they at least, had some respect for the dead, unlike those that had come before them. they touched nothing, did not disturb the souls of the long sleeping items. they spread out, looking around the hallways and rooms. "hey guys! look!" Tina called, looking up at the picture. "Margaret Pennington." she informed them. she was the one who did all the research. "Legend says that she was a Civil Century woman who lost her husband during the war. they where said to have had the most loving relationship, and when her husband died she mired herself in depression. after that the story gets fuzzy. some say she killed herself, others say she was murdered, some think she fell down the stairs and died in an accident and a few think that she was poisoned by the last of her family but no ones sure." Tina admitted. "the only thing anyone can agree upon is that the death of her husband destroyed her."

"That's so sad." Sage admitted, Alice nodding. "is she the one haunting the house?" "that's what's believed." Tina admitted. "all we know for a fact is that anyone who tried to buy, live in, destroy, renovate, pilfer, or vandalize the house meets with some various troubles. some of them have even gotten really hurt, particularly the people who try to damage the property in some way. there are rumors that Mrs. Pennington is protecting the house for her husbands return. or at the very least, one of her husbands family. i dunno why no one says she's waiting for her own side of the family." Tina admitted, Alice looking up at the painting with wide eyes.

"She's really pretty." the young Futa admitted, her head tilted. "she looks lonely in this picture. and sort of like she's hurting and trying to hide it." she admitted, Tina and Sage giving her funny looks. "it's a painting. how can you tell?" Sage asked, examining the painting critically. Alice just shrugged. "well. whatever. lets set up our tents. outside." Tina ordered. "we don't want to disturb too much in here, it might upset Mrs. Pennington." "she's dead, what can she do to us?" Sage scoffed even as she followed Tina. "the same thing she did to everyone else you twit!" that of course started them bickering, they always bickered. Alice sighed, rolled her eyes and smiled at the painting. "don't worry. they're real nice." she promised her before looking around some more, curious about the person who had lived here, content to let the two other girls set up the tents.

Margaret listened to all that was said. Saddened that no one knew how she had died. That meant that her nieces had succeeded in their crime and gotten away with murder. Of course they had succeeded. She'd been here all along, watching Matilda, Daisy and Annabell prancing around the house gleefully, just like these girls. But she had hoped that someone would eventually find out the truth and bring her killers to justice. Or at the very least, set the record straight. To hear that some said she'd killed herself was so.........annoying. Michael would never have forgiven her if she'd taken the coward's way out.

However, Margaret was not here because she was waiting for Michael's return. She'd long ago resigned herself that he was gone. No, she was here to protect the house. Just as her father had told her to do on his deathbed. The house had been in her family since before the Revolution and it was her job to defend it against all invaders. And what better way to drive away the invaders than to invade their bodies and play them off against one another.

She chose Alice, not only because of her uniqueness, but because she seemed more receptive to Margaret's plight. She certainly couldn't enter Sage, who was clearly scornful of the dead. And Tina was a font of information that she wanted to listen to rather than disrupt with her presence. So when the other two girls had left, Margaret just drifted out of her portrait and into Alice. To Alice, it would seem like an icey draft had settled upon her. But she'd adjust to the temperature of the girl. For the moment, rather than trying to control the girl, she was content to be an invisible passenger in her body. Listening to her thoughts and seeing through her eyes.

What she learned from Alice's thoughts surprised Margaret. The girl was shy and uncomfortable with her differences. Differences? To Margaret they were gifts. She giggled. What mischief she could have gotten into if she had had the genetalia of a man AND a woman! Mischief had been her middle name as a child. Only Michael had been able to tame her wildness. Poor sweet Michael. What would he have thought if she had had her own manhood. She giggled again. Could you call it manhood on a woman? Perhaps it was time for a different term. The vulgar used to call it a pecker. But she hated that term. And penis sounded too formal, even for a lady of the south. Cock! That's what they were calling it now. She'd heard the term from other intruders. Still a bit vulgar, but she no longer had polite society to impress or scandalize.

When Alice entered the master bathroom, the first thing her eyes were directed to was the large claw-foot tub. Margaret remembered the struggles the workers went through carrying that monster up the stairs to the master bathroom. But oh, how she loved soaking in warm soothing water in that tub. It was like heaven. At least until Michael would disrupt her peace by sliding in with her for some lovemaking. She giggled again, thinking of those moments. She wanted so desperately to feel that warmth once more. Maybe if she planted the desire for a bath in Alice's mind......

Tina and Sage where still outside bickering when Alice felt the cold chill. she shuddered violently and wrapped her arms around herself, trying to ward off what she thought was a sudden chill breeze. she shuddered again, goosebumps spreading across her entire body, making her want to feel itchy even if there was nothing to be itchy about. she sniffed, warding off a sudden runny nose and straightened once the chill seamed to be gone. Must be a storm coming in, the woman's thoughts where clear and rang like a sweet bell. she was so accepting of the ghost in her body that nothing in her even tried to revolt. the young woman didn't even feel nervous or scared. Margaret could hear from her thoughts that she knew the dead would never hurt her if she was polite and kind. she often got annoyed with Sage for disrespecting the dead, though she was too shy and timid to ever actually say it. Sage and Tina where the only people she had in the world. her own parents abandoned her because she was a freak. all the people in the orphanage had called her a freak and a monster. anyone she spoke to found out and despised her for her differences.

she knew she could have a surgery done, she had the money for it. no matter what she thought of herself though, she'd never been able to bring herself to have it removed. how could she? as much as she hated it, it was a part of her, and if she wanted to be loved, they would have to love all of her, not just part of her. that was why she was so loyal to Sage and Tina. they where the sisters she'd always wanted, who loved her because she was sweet and shy and caring, not because she had big boobs and a dick. she shook her head, brushing off the darker thoughts, not willing to waste a perfectly good adventure feeling sorry for herself. she was going to find the truth of what had happened to Mrs. Pennington and maybe find a way to help the ghost rest in peace, maybe even move on to heaven. she had met other ghosts, of a sort. memory imprints that she was sensitive to. demons and innocents alike rose from where great emotions, some good, some bad, resided. the entire house felt, neutral really, but she had sensed the faintest feeligns of pain and anger form the painting, she knew there was something there, a real ghost, or just vague emotional memories from a time long forgotten.

she smiled as she noticed the bathtub. she had always loved these old fashioned deep tubs, the ones you could actually lay in and fully relax, where the water would actually come up to your shoulders without having to lay down or scrunch up. she stroked the sides of the tub and then set about checking the water to see if it worked. it did! she hadn't realized there would be plumbing, but one of the later families must have been able to renovate just long enough to get indoor plumbing. she took her time washing the tub until there was no more dust before looking for the drain plug. once it was settled she smiled, watching the tub fill, humming as she anticipated the glories of a bath. she even found some fizzing bath salts in the cupboards, proving that the last owners had to have been there at least five years ago, if the date was anything to go by. she would have to check the fridge. holding her breath of course. she poured the salts into the water and then set about undressing. shirt and bra slipping off without worry. she didn't mind being naked around Sage or Tina. they didn't stare or call her filthy names.

she smiled at herself in the mirror before shucking off her shoes, pants and socks. standing there in her padded underwear that would hide her bulge if she should get aroused. it would hide her bulge no matter what really. she slid into the hot, luxurious bath with a groan, slipping her hair out of it's ribbons she let the water sooth her. baths had always made her feel like heaven, easing aches and carrying her away on pleasant daydreams. part of her realized it was kind of stupid, taking a bath in a strange house where anyone could walk in, she ignored that little part of her. this felt entirely too nice to care about such simple things like that.

Margaret felt sorry for Alice. She couldn't imagine being abandoned by her parents. Though they grew impatient at times with her wild and impetuous behavior, they still loved her nonetheless. Michael had tamed her by simply accepting her as she was. He never scolded her like her parents did when she did something reckless or foolish. He was there to lean on and to provide stability in her life. And to give her unconditional love, of course.

Margaret had gazed down from her painting with disapproval at some of the changes that her descendants had made to the mansion. And if the changes were too drastic, she'd make her displeasure known to them in no uncertain terms. On more than one occasion, they fled the house, grumbling about Great-Aunt Margaret having one of her "temper tantrums". That was as doors began opening and slamming all over the mansion and drawers were pulled out and dumped all over the floor. But indoor plumbing was one change she wished she'd had when she was alive. No more bucket brigades of servants bringing up hot water heated on the stove in the kitchen. Sometimes the servants would get the water too hot or take too long in getting the water to the tub so that it became too cool. Especially in winter. But with this indoor plumbing, the temperature could be made just right.

She looked with appreciation at Alice's bosom, as the girl looked in the mirror. She wished she had been so endowed. Not that it would have mattered to Michael. But she could have made so much more of an entrance at the balls in Richmond.

Margaret had to suppress an audible sigh when Alice sank below the warm water. As a ghost, she hadn't felt this warm in a long long time. But she didn't want to give away her presence too soon. It was strange. Normally, she couldn't wait to get rid of intruders to the mansion. She'd have them out the door, sometimes within minutes of their arrival. But she felt a certain connection to THIS intruder. And then there was the novelty her eyes were drawn to between Alice's legs. Or rather, Alice's eyes were drawn to, since she was seeing through Alice. She willed the girl to reach out, lightly exploring it. And then reaching below it to confirm what she'd read from her mind. Sure enough, she had both male and female genitalia. Her first instinct was to say "The best of both worlds". But then she thought about it more. One could be such a hindrance to the other.

She'd heard of hermaphrodites, but always thought they were the stuff of myth and legend or lower life forms. Like the garden snails in her mother's flowerbeds. She noticed that the..............cock didn't spring to life like Michael's. She used to tease him about how, with the mere touch of her finger, she could make him hard. She'd always found it kind of flattering that she could arouse him so easily. Perhaps the girl had become too accustomed to her own touch to be aroused as quickly. Margaret wondered if another's touch would have a different effect. That would be something to explore later. For now, she and Alice leaned back and soaked in the warmth, the girl's hands still exploring her privates at Margaret's gentle prodding.

Alice hummed to herself as she examined herself in the mirror, smiling at her breasts. she was really rather proud of them, all natural, even if they did ache terribly if she went too long without a bra. a shame they where marred by the thing growing between her legs. she shook her head at her own silliness and sighed while slipping into the water with a smile. it felt so warm and wonderful, the water almost too hot. just the way she liked it. she could soak for well over an hour now without having to reset the water or get out, if she even had that long. Sage and Tina where unpredictable at best and they could come up here looking for her anytime, though they where well used to her wandering off. she sighed again and slid her hands across the flat of her stomach, feeling the lean muscles there. she couldn't play any sports now, the school had barely allowed it. after all she couldn't join the girls teams because of her cock, and she couldn't join the mens because of her breasts. they hadn't been very nice about it either, had even gone so far as to actually ban her from the bathrooms and changing rooms. then yelled at her for not joining in the gym classes she had to attend. thank god that was all over with. she kept in shape on her own now and didn't have anything to do with anyone unless it was Sage or Tina.

she smiled a little to herself, exploring her body, her fingers stroking along the length of her cock, stroking the tip with dainty fingers, feeling pleasure and lust curling in her belly. she opened her mouth to get more air as her length started to twitch and harden. it took a while to get it up without external stimulus, which was ridiculous really considering how often she got aroused. which was why she had the padded underwear. sometimes she wouldn't get hard at all, and other times she'd get hard when Tina bent over, or Sage stretched. sometimes she got hard just thinking about things, even when it had nothing to do with sex at all! she shivered, her fingers running along her silky nether lips and slid a single finger inside, she loved to play with both. she knew she should hate the cock that had all but ruined her life, at times like this though it was totally worth having both cock and cunt. she sighed, slipping her fingers deeper, her other hand stroking her length which was now fully hard. her fingers danced, inside and on, sending sharp tingles of pleasure racing through her body. she lifted her hips, teasing herself, using her nails to tickle and tease. opening her mouth to sigh, it might have been a moan had there been any noise to it, she had to be silent though, lest Sage and Tina catch her.

shame bubbled in her at the thought of them finding her playing with herself. that didn't stop her though, if anything it encouraged her, wrapping her petite little hand around her length and giving it full, firm strokes now. her hand tight enough that it was just a touch uncomfortable, her fingers burrowing deeper inside of herself, another long sigh escaping her lips. she was getting closer already, she could feel her body tightening and stretching, feel her inner walls quivering and her cock throbbing. she moaned this time, unable to stop herself and blushed hard, cumming harder than she'd ever remembered. shooing her thick white strands into the water while her cunt clenched and squeezed. she shuddered, shook, writhed and gasped as she emptied herself into the bath and relaxed, taking the time to stroke herself completely limp. there was nothing better than stroking out every last drop. then shame curled in again, and embarrassment and she squeaked. "i can't believe i just did that! i shouldn't be in the bath at all!" she muttered, quickly evacuating the tub and draining the water, mortified to realize that there where no towels. at least none she'd use, they where filthy and half rotten. left with no other option she got dressed and sighed, how would she ever explain this to Sage and Tina? she was soaking! and smelled like flowers... fell in a pond or a puddle? spilled a vat of perfume? "i'm screwed." she grumbled with a sigh.

Margaret smiled at the girl's dilemma. Unlike Alice, she'd been shameless in her youth. She wouldn't have cared if other girls had caught her playing with herself. Just as long as her parents didn't find out. That lasciviousness had made her a bit of an outcast among her peers. Not that it mattered to her. If Michael hadn't come into her life, she'd always suspected she would have remained single. Most men of that period shied away from women of scandalous behavior. Unless those women were harlots, of course.

But none of the masturbations of her past had prepared her for this. It was hard to know which felt better. Stroking her cock or inserting her fingers in her womanhood. DAMN, another old fashioned term that needed to be upgraded. What did they call it now? Vagina? Too formal. Cunt? Heavens, no! Too blunt! Pussy? Yes, that sounded playful enough. Though it seemed as if Alice was stroking the cock a little rougher than she would have. She'd always used a lighter touch with Michael. Margaret laughed at herself. Here she was making comparisons between her techniques and Alice's when she should just be enjoying the moment. So she decided to relax, close her eyes, and let the girl have her own way. Maybe she would alter her techniques later. Besides, it was already overwhelming, having two sources of arousal at the same time. Was it possible to time one orgasm with the other? The cock was already rigid. She could feel it throbbing with energy, eager to explode. And she could feel the girl's seed bubbling towards the surface. When it erupted, her body spasmed repeatedly. Not quite in unison, the pussy climaxed shortly after, her vaginal walls clenching around her fingers, trying to hold onto the moment. Stretching out the delightful feeling she was experiencing.

Margaret would have liked an encore. But Alice seemed waaaaay too concerned about the other girls catching her masturbating. Clearly, the girl needed her help.

Did she really just say that? Normally, she couldn't get rid of uninvited guests fast enough. Besides, she had no expertise with other women. All her relationships had been with men. Perhaps, deep down inside, she was really trying to experience all the things she'd never experienced while alive. Such as a lesbian relationship. But did she have a right to use this girl to gain that experience? And why was she even concerned about it? She'd never before worried about the living people that she had used and abused in the past as a ghost. There were so many questions that Margaret needed to take some time to consider.

Alice was still flushing when she finally settled on a plan and headed out to the front yard soaking wet. she paused to filthy herself up a little bit and soon had a reasonable excuse as to why she was wet, filthy, and flustered. "Alice! what on earth!?" Sage demanded, startled as she raced over to the woman. "what happened?!" "i'm okay, i promise. i was testing the water plumbing and the Tub got all stopped up. i fell in trying to unstop it and then tripped on a table in the hall." she admitted, feeling quite chilled now that she was in wet clothes out of the wonderful heat. "on the plus side, there's running plumbing here, and it get's really hot. we won't have to worry about cold water showers or bringing out the shower bags." she admitted, already crawling into a tent to gather some clean clothes and get changed. "Are you hurt at all? no bruises? it's not like you to be so clumsy. was it the ghost?" Tina asked, sounding worried. "No, of course not. aside from a few faint emotions i haven't felt anything from the ghost at all. i think she might be sleeping, or hiding." Alice admitted. she had always been rather sensitive to such things, it was why she and Tina had started doing this in the first place.

Tina loved information, and she loved to go to old haunted places and learn the truth. it bothered her when Folktales had no clear concise ending. being the rich daughter of a multimillionaire company owner and CEO Tina didn't have to work, ever, and could spend all the time and all the money she pleased on things like this. Sage on the other hand was the daughter of a low ranking drug syndicate. she'd grown up poor as dirt. not that it stopped her from making her own way in the world. she typically wrote popular Ghost Hunting books that sold very well. this wasn't the first house they'd found the truth for and it wouldn't be the last and Sage loved to write about each and every one of their adventures, even if she scoffed at the idea of Alice being 'sensitive'. or at the idea of ghosts being real. really she was just there because she didn't like collage. her English courses had been a waste of time, or so she said. Alice just figured that Sage hadn't liked any of the boys, or girls, there. not a lot of people liked Sage. Alice herself was there because she honestly wanted to help those that couldn't pass on. not all of the so called haunted places had actually been so, but she'd managed to help one ghost, a Major McKnathy who had been stabbed in the back by his second in command on the orders of his wife who was shagging said second in command. not to mention, working for Tina meant that she didn't have to worry about being abused anymore and she made enough money to buy her own food, buy her own clothes and have a roof over her head. she was a proud girl, despite being shy, she wanted to make her own way in the world and wouldn't accept charity when she could earn it for herself.

"so have you felt anything strong?" Tina asked. Tina was more than willing to accept Alice's 'sensitivity' and had often used that sensitivity to locate evidence of what had really happened. "just a strong sense of betrayal." Alice admitted. "whatever happened, i don't think she killed herself." Alice admitted, sliding out of the tent, dry and in clean clothes. "i think she was betrayed by someone close to her at the time. she was probably murdered, or attacked and left to die, or had an accident and wasn't helped or something." Alice admitted, pulling her hair back into a ponytail, ignoring how the sight of Tiny wearing only a tank top and a pair of shorts was making her cock twitch in her padded underwear. blasted thing! it had enough attention for today! still, it twitched again when she looked at Sage and noticed she was bent over, ass in the air to examine the footprint of some animal or another. somedays Alice hated herself. okay, most days Alice hated herself, some days where just worse than others.

Margaret was amused. And yet perplexed. All this effort on Alice's part just to hide that she'd pleasured herself? If these two girls were as good of friends as Alice thought they were, surely they would understand Alice's needs! Wasn't this supposed to be a freer age than the one Margaret came from?

Listening to Alice tell the others about her impressions of the past, Margaret was so tempted to shout out within Alice's brain, "YES, I WAS BETRAYED. YES, I WAS MURDERED." But something held her back. Maybe it was the fear that a resolution to the mystery of her death might lead to a resolution of her time in this house. Land speculators, real estate investors, and businessmen were constantly trying to purchase the house and property. All with the intent of tearing the house down and putting up a shopping mall (whatever that was) or a football stadium (whatever that was) or condominiums (whatever they were). The only thing standing in their way was the reputation of this mansion and it's ghost. The preservation society wanted to save the mansion specifically because of it's ghost and it's history. If these girls brought a resolution to the question of her fate, would that mean she would be forced to move on? As much as she wanted to see her Michael again, she had a duty to her father to protect the mansion and estate.

Perhaps she needed to distract these girls from their goal. So when Alice's cock started to twitch, it wasn't simply because she was aroused by Tina or Sage. Margaret had decided to manipulate her body, trying to redirect her attention away from ghost hunting and towards more carnal pursuits. For a moment, she considered forcing Alice to reach out and pinch that ass of Sage's. It would serve the girl right for not believing in ghosts. But that might have given away her ghostly presence. No, this had to be more subtle. That tent the girls were going to sleep in was going to get awfully cozy tonight, she thought gleefully.

if asked why Alice was doing such a thing as hiding what she'd been doing, she wouldn't be able to answer. all she knew was that it felt filthy, bad, wrong. pleasuring herself when she was such a creature? it was wrong to enjoy herself when she was a freak. wrong to take pleasure in something that was so wrong. Sage of course, didn't believe in ghosts and thus thought that Alice's 'sensitivity' was a bunch of bull, but she never said that out loud. they talked for a little while longer before crawling into their shared Tent and settling in to bed, Alice on the left, Tina in the middle and Sage on the right. "Goodnight everyone." Tina stated cheerfully as she snuggled in for bed, Alice sighing as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. when she woke in the morning, she was doing something she had never done before. she was cuddling, very tight to Tina. while it was not unusual for Sage to get clingy in the night, which was why Tina slept in the middle, she didn't mind a clingy Sage; where it tended to upset Alice a little bit. Alice felt horror curling up inside of her as she realized she was hard as a rock and Tina was snuggling back, arms wrapped tightly around Alice. even the padded panties couldn't hide this and there was no escape from Tina's tight grip. what was she going to do!? what was she going to DO!?

"Morning." Tina mumbled sleepily, shifting as she started to wake and terror bloomed inside of Tina. she did the only thing she could think of. she slid her hips back, trying to keep her hardness away from her friends body and tilted her hips, uncomfortable, but shielding her length from sight. "...Alice?" Tina asked, startled. "oh my goodness i'm sorry! i must have thought you where Sage!" Tina apologized, recognize the discomfort on her friends face. Alice scooted back, sat up and fled the tent to get some fresh air against her burning face. she struggled to ignore the lust curling in her belly and the thoughts of how pretty Tina and Sage really where. she did so with a practiced ease that told you she'd had these thoughts before, without the Ghost instigating them. cute little Alice, was harboring a crush. a big one, for her female partners. she was too good at ignoring them however. she would never do anything on her own.

(short post is short. >< sorry.)

((OOC: I don't worry about the length of a post too much. I ask for a paragraph in my F-list. But really, as long as the other person has provided me with something to work with, I'm cool. Usually, I'm the one worrying that I'm saying too much. lol))

Margaret sighed with disappointment. All that maneuvering of Alice up against Tonia and . . . . . . nothing. In fact, worse than nothing. The way Alice pulled away from Tonia probably gave the girl the impression she was repelled by intimacy with her. While Tina's apology, on the other hand, indicated no such qualms about ending up in the arms of another female. At least not if the female was Sage. As Alice fled the tent, Margaret heard a clicking, followed by a small female voice announcing that the "high today could reach one hundred degrees. So, if you don't have air conditioning, dress light and hydrate often."

Oh, how Margaret hated days like these when she was alive. All the stifling layers of clothing that a southern lady was required to wear by society. Up to eight layers under her dress, depending on the the occasion. First the bloomers or pantalets, then the chemise, then the corset, then the corset cover or camisole, then the under petticoat, followed by the hoop skirt and the over petticoat, and finally the blouse or bodice and the actual skirt. It was a wonder she didn't faint more often than she did. When she was in the privacy of her own room, she'd disrobe of all her clothing and go naked. If only they'd had not only indoor plumbing back in her day, but showers. There was now a shower-head over that tub in the master bathroom, but about a century too late for her.

Of course, today's temperature could work to Margaret's advantage in this instance. The heat wasn't likely to cause the girls to shed any clothing, mainly because they wore very little to begin with. But who knows, maybe one of the other girls was adventurous enough to do so. And aside from the shower, she could create other places for them to get wet. The small fountain and pool in the courtyard of the mansion had been added after her death. And she had noticed how it had become a favorite place for later generations of the Pennington children to frolic in. It was dry right now, but if she left Alice's body and went to the basement, maybe she could figure out how to turn the water back on.

Sage and Tina both sighed as they realized that Alice had frightened herself again. they knew that she was just frightened off of any kind of physical intimacy, even hugs, because of her past. they could only stay back and let her make the first steps. "That's just great!" Sage complained. "i can't stand the heat!" she whined. "we're sure no one else comes around here right? might just hang out in my bathing suit." the youngest admitted, already digging through her clothing bags. "just make sure to put on sunscreen. i don't understand how you can't stand the heat! you come from the south!" "so? we're IN the south!" "oh yeah." the girls giggled and Alice felt herself calm down. they weren't mad. it was okay. they didn't think her disgusting. it was okay. "well, lets go get Alice." Tina decided, coming out of the tent in a tube top and a pair of shorts, while Dage came out in an adorable little Bikini. Alice just rolled her eyes and slid into the tent to get dressed herself, a nice white dress, sleeveless and cool but hid everything it needed to hide. "well, shall we go explore?" Sage asked, grinning as she skipped the way, Alice chuckling as she followed and Tina grinning. glad that Alice hadn't frightened herself too badly.

they started on the other side f the huge house, walking around the perimeter and looking at everything they could see. Tina stopped to pick up a book that was old and rotting. "hey, this book is only ten years old." "so the last person to live here was at least ten years ago? must have had kids. see? this is one of those kids books." Sage pointed out, examining what little could be made of the title. "well, we might consider looking into the library Records later, and see who owned the house last and talk to them, if they're close enough." Tina admitted. "i'll look into that later. oh! look at the cute little trike!" there where various toys littered around, and a full on picnic laid out, though only the dishes where left, shattered, broken and scattered. though there where tins of food laying about that where mostly undamaged. "it's like they just up and left." "i don't doubt it. some of the things inside indicate the same. there where clothes in the washer and dryer and some of the dressers in there where still full." Alice admitted. "they must have had to leave very suddenly. Mrs. Pennington must have chased them all out very suddenly." "it matches the legends. some people have stayed for years, while others weren't even allowed in the house. i think only the people who don't try to hurt or alter the house are allowed to stay for any length of time." "but the plumbing? they didn't have plumbing back in Mrs. Pennington's day." Sage scoffed. "it's probably just natural phenomenon that make paranoid and skittish idiots think they're being haunted." Sage scoffed, ignoring Alice's annoyed look.

"perhaps. we have run into those. a few scams as well. but old Major McKnathy was certainly real." Tina pointed out, Alice nodding. "so you say, i certainly never saw him." the girl huffed before brightening. "he's still my best seller though." "i really wish you wouldn't talk so badly about the dead Sage. it's just rude." Alice complained, tossing her nose in the air and storming off in a rare show of temper, startling both her friends. "one of these days your going to annoy the wrong ghost, and they'll teach you a lesson in manners you'll never forget." Alice huffed, Tina looking at Sage. "i told you to stop picking on her." Tina stated with amusement. "now she's going to be in a mood all day." Tina complained, Sage shrugging. "hey! look t this!" Alice called, watching the water flow through a crystal clear sparkling fountain. "how is it so clean?" Sage asked, amazed that everything around them could be so old and filthy, and yet this fountain didn't even have leaves in it. "it's cold! and huge! we might have to go swimming later when the heat really gets going." Tina agreed, grinning as she ran her fingers through the water. "it is weird that it's so clean though." "the tub upstairs is the same way." Alice admitted, deciding not to mention that she was the one who had cleaned that. "should we head inside and see what we can find in there and then come out and go swimming?" Tina suggested. "i agree!" Sage chirped, Alice smiling as she nodded. she could go for a cool dip.

Margaret was really starting to develop a dislike for Sage. The hypocrisy of the girl, writing books about ghosts and profiting from those books, yet not believing in ghosts. She shouldn't be allowed to earn a living off those who's existence she holds in such great contempt.

But Margaret was of two minds. On the one hand, she wanted people to believe in ghosts. Otherwise, it was as if she herself didn't exist. On the other hand, if more people believed in ghosts, more people would be invading her mansion. And that she couldn't have.

She felt no guilt about the last family she had chased off, though she had enjoyed the presence of children in the house. But when the husband and wife had started laying out plans on the kitchen table to "give the house a more contemporary look by knocking out some walls to create an open concept livingroom/kitchen/dinning room area", that was the last straw.

Turning on the water to the fountain had been no trouble. But getting it done before the girls had come upon the fountain had been a feat. If it had started flowing while they were looking at it, it might have given away Margaret's presence. The basin of the fountain was clean, because Margaret would throw up a draft that would blow away the leaves. She cared for the parts of the house of hers and her descendants. But the refuse left by intruders, she allowed to rot and rust away. They were of no concern to her.

As the temperature continued to rise, Margaret continued to get more irritated with Sage. She wanted so much to teach her a lesson, but without making it blatantly obvious that she was present. There was always something delightful in leaving people with an element of doubt in their minds. If Alice remained so shy around the others, perhaps inhabiting one of the other girls would be better. They certainly weren't shy. And inhabiting Sage, maybe she could make her do something to herself as punishment. By doing so, maybe she could get Alice to tap into her maternal side in response to Sage's misfortune.

It had taken just a moment. A quick entry into Sage's body. And before she had even had a chance to notice the temperature change, a movement of her foot so that it stepped on a roller skate. Part of the clutter left out by a careless child of the past. Her foot slipped out from under her. And before she knew it, BAM. She was flat on her back and in pain. And Margaret was back in Alice's body.
