Basic Summary
Geos is like our world, only twice the size, and the supernatural is real. Thus, there are differences in names, and there is a hidden side of every community, where the supernatural is normal. (D&D original basis, but other sources are welcome.)

Genre- Modern Fantasy

PN Level- 3 (D&D 'Spell Levels' and similar levels of techniques are 'tiers'. Reality changing magics and abilities such as Wish are beyond almost everyone. Resurrection is possible, but extremely rare. It always requires one vital organ to be intact, and it's preferred that the brain be intact, for otherwise you get a brain damaged individual. Plus, it has to happen fairly quickly after unnatural death.)

Tech Level- 5 (Anything in today's real world can be found here, as well as cutting edge technology. Technology and magic can be combined, but generally is done for secret government programs, illegal groups, and the occasional private innovator. The higher one goes on the tech scale [D20 Modern basis], the more likely it is to be in of these three's hands, if it exists.)

Population
7 billion sentients. A majority are human, but there are plenty of other kinds as well. Demons, androids, dragons, kitsunes, werewolves, vampires, and all sorts of other supernatural beings.

Notable Locations
Solitum, Capital of Quedom: A metropolis comparable to New York City. It is filled with good and bad, the center of the country-continent, Quedom, and the center of it's magical mafia. The river Elafu runs through it, and a forest surrounds it. It was chosen as the Capital for it's size and that is near the center of Quedom. Quantis Tower is where the Emperor of Quedom lives.

Notable Persons
Zeheris: Known as the Guardian of Hope, this individual wanders the city of Solitum, fighting crime and evil wherever he finds it. A vigilante that is highly skilled, the police both mundane and magical have given up looking for him, and devoted their resources to something they _can_ accomplish. Underworld figures are terrified of him, and constantly try to stop him. He is considered a hero by the magical community, and a modern myth by the mundane.

Emperor Matteo Carfi: Elected Emperor in 1992, he has done well so far in his 20 year rule. He is in fine health for 54 years of age, and is expected to serve another ten years. Matteo has his issues however. He doesn't know what to do about the war going on in his city between the mafia and Zeheris, nor does he know how to clear more roads for travel. He has made deals with dragons and the like, however, to keep air travel safe. And he has secured the foresting and mining businesses throughout Quedom.

Kunrat Achen: Head of the Magical Mafia, this man has his finger in every bit of organized crime. The only reason he isn't dead is paranoia and a healthy skill with magic. He and Zeheris have been battling each other, mostly through Kunrat's minions, for several years now. Kunrat's sole victory was killing Zeheris's partner, but that hasn't curtailed Zeheris at all. He's desperate for a way to stop Zeheris, for everything criminal has been taking a massive downturn, especially recruiting. Hard to recruit when a man smashes your men's face into the closest object and says, "This will happen to you if you listen.". Kunrat has been tempted lately to take drastic measures that may put him at risk, if only it will get rid of the 'Guardian of Hope'.

Advanced Summary
Geos is a world where the supernatural quietly holds sway. Magic, chi, ki, whatever form of superhuman feats you can think of, can happen here. The roads are the only safe way to travel from town to town, and everyone knows this. It's said that 'wild animals' are the cause of deaths and disappearances for those that stray, but supernatural beings know that it was the monsters that got them. All governments and most businesses hire supernatural beings to help in both doing jobs and protecting from other supernaturals. Schools have entire hidden sections where students learn the supernatural. Security services protect from both mundane and magical. All supernatural things are hidden from mundanes, originally due to fear, now so that they won't get pestered for magical solutions to everything. While magic is studied in decent detail, it is not a cureall to all the world's ills. Quedom is the second largest of Geos's 7 continents. All 7 are inhabited, but until recently unconnected. Only the relatively recent inventions of flight, radio, and now the Internet have allowed safe travel and communication from one continent to another. The oceans are filled with even worse monsters, and nothing a mile out into an ocean is safe. The deeper you go, the more likely something monstrous will destroy your ship and eat the living materials inside.
