The Job

Setting: I'm a regular guy with an average job and a mediocre life, but the only thing I'm reminded of is that my parents are rich. This year, they expect me to visit them in their home in France with a wife or a fiancee; none of which I have. Knowing my parents, I knew they would find one for me if I returned to them without someone by my side. In my desperation, I turn to you. You, are the out-of-work actress living in my apartment building and when we meet, I want to ask you to play my wife for the duration of the visit during which you'll get paid, obviously. But will you accept? If you do, are you able to do the job?

I found myself jumping awake from my dreamless sleep and my fingers rubbing my eyes as if that was going to wake me up. I sat up on my single bed and slowly rose to my feet. I dragged my body to the bathroom where I viciously began to brush my teeth.
