Los Angeles California home to almost 4 million people. The city it's self sits on an area of some 468.67 square miles. Los Angeles, or as many call it LA is the most populous city in California and the second most populous city in America after New York City. Protecting the populous of Los Angeles is handled by the men & women of the Los Angeles Police Department, better known as the LAPD.

The LAPD protects the almost 4 million with a force which is just under 10,000 police officers.Besides the city the LAPD also covers other areas such as Hollywood, Van Nuys, Wilshire, Topanga, Rampart and 14 other areas around the city. Each of these areas have been formed into 4 Bureaus then broken down into divisions. Each division has it's own station with patrol officers. The detectives of the LAPD are stationed in the Central Bureau and work from the Central Divison Station which is also called Parker Center or Downtown by the thugs and crooks.

Detectives of the LAPD work in different divisions such as Vice, Juvenile, Gangs, Narcotics, Commercial Crimes, Investigative Analysis Section and Robbery-Homicide. One of the detectives who works robbery-homicide is Detective Sergeant Thomas Reed. Tom as he is known by those close to him is a 15 years veteran of the force. During those 15 plus years, Tom has had many partners and today was no different since today Detective Sergeant Reed was not only getting a new partner.

Tom's new partner wasn't a rookie detective, she's had 10 plus years under her belt riding in a patrol car before acing the detectives exam on the first try which had never been done before by a woman. Her former partner wrote in her evaluation that she was smart, confident and not afraid to get down & dirty when the situation called for it. Meaning that she wasn't afraid to take down a suspect no matter where they were or who the suspect was. He also wrote that she was metal tough, but sweet as cake. From that point on the nickname " Brass Cupcake " followed her. During the coarse of her career, she spent time in the Vice and Narcotics Divisions. This would however be her first time working Robbery/Homicide. She's had her share of partners, but course she never had a partner like Tom Reed before. He was known as being heavy handed at times with suspects. Although she's a Sergeant herself, new detective to Robbery/Homicide always get partnered with the most senior Sergeant who happens to be free. So it was just her luck to end up with the man known around the department as " The Headhunter "

Tom was a highly decorated officer, and no matter how much trouble he got into. Tom always found ways of getting out of that trouble by doing something heroic. He was seen by many as a hero, but there were also a great number who thought that he should be stripped of his badge. But even those people were glad at certain times that Tom had that badge, and now with a serial killer who was just starting to make himself know those people would be happy to have Tom on the force.

RE: Golden Shield Version 2 ( LittleKitty & CrimsonMaster )

Sora had lived in LA her whole life, and knew the risks. She had deticated her life to her job, and along the way became a master of disguse. She had gotton in troublehwith her supiors more times than she could count, but it didn't discourge her from being who she was.

Not one to shy away from getting down and dirty, she could take down any crimnal without a problem. Despite her hard demenor, she was actcually be very sweet. This earned her the nickname, "Brass Cupcake". Although it annoyed her slightly, she didn't mind.

She knew that she would be getting a new partner today, and she was too thrilled. She prefered to work by herself, but she didn't have much choice in the matter. There was a new serial killer on the loose, and it was mandotry the he/she was stopped.

RE: Golden Shield Version 2 ( LittleKitty & CrimsonMaster )

Detective Sergeant Thomas Reed was on his way into work not knowing that today he was getting a surprise which was a new partner. He stopped by a small cafe a few blocks way from the Central Station. This cafe was a place that Tom stopped at every morning at this time. Tom stood at the counter after ordering his usual large coffee with cream and no sugar. The waitress grabbed a to go cup then poured in some coffee, but instead of adding the cream she added sugar...............lots and lots of sugar. Tom was reading over the morning paper until the waitress placed his cup of coffee on the counter along with his change.

Tom picked up the coffee then walked out of the cafe. He didn't take a drink until he was out on the sidewalk. Tom almost gagged on the sugar, he turned to look at the cafe then saw the closed sign going up in the window. He quickly walked over to his car putting the coffee cup on the roof of his car then he reached in grabbing for the radio mic. Tom called into the station dispatch that there was possible 211 in progress, he then gave the address. Tom tossed the radio mic back into his car along with his newspaper then jogged around behind the cafe.

Tom entered through the back door where he could hear yelling coming from the front. He exited from back to the kitchen then into the cafe area seeing four men holding guns on everyone. These four men, two white and two black were yelling for money to be placed into a large black bag which was sitting on the counter. Tom slowly pulled his .50 Desert Eagle from the shoulder holster under his coat. " You boys really need a new hobby. " Tom said in a cool calm tone as he pointed his weapon towards these men. The Desert Eagle was one of the most powerful handguns in the world. Most called it a street cannon and it was very deadly in the hands of someone like Tom Reed.

Hearing a voice the men turned seeing that the cop who they thought was gone had come back. Gun fire broke out as two of the men fired at Tom. He returned fire dropping two quickly then nailing the third as he was trying to get out of the cafe. The fourth man grabbed a woman holding his pistol to her head as Tom walked up to him. Tom placed the barrel of his Desert Eagle against the man's head. " Even if you kill her......you'll still die. " Tom said as the man started to become nervous. He really didn't want to die and Tom knew this. The man let the woman go then dropped his gun raising his hands into the air just as two patrol cars pulled up out front.

Tom handed off this man plus the one that he wounded to the officers. The other two were dead and belong to the coroner's office now. Tom left the cafe without his coffee, but he couldn't wait since he was late for work already. About 10 minutes later and almost 20 minutes late, Tom walked into the Central Station. Tom said hello to the other detectives and the officer who were around then he walked over to his desk. He never even sat down since there was a note from Lt. Tamura asking Tom to come to her office when he got in. Tom tossed the note into his trash can then headed off for Lesley's office.

Lt. Lesley Tamura waved Tom in when he knocked on her door. The 34 year old detective had dark brown hair which was always kept short. He stood 6 feet even and weighted 210 lbs, dressed in his normal sports coat which was dark blue, white button down shirt which was open at the top since he wasn't wearing a tie and grey pants. Tom was a well built man, his arms were strong and his chest broad. He was also one of the best shots in the department. Tom was the defending shooting champion of the department and had been so for the last 5 years. The next shooting tournament would be in a few weeks and Tom was the heavy favorite to retain his title. Tom stepped inside of Lesley's office then shut the door behind him. Lesley told Tom then she was putting him on a new case. Two different women had been found murdered, one last Tuesday morning and the second one was found earlier this morning which was also a Tuesday morning. Lesley handed Tom a file which contained all the information on the case. Tom started to look through the file when Lesley said that he was also getting a new partner.

This made Tom look up at Lesley as he closed the file. Tom's last partner was still laid up in the hospital after their unmarked car was destroyed by a bomb. Tom and his partner were tracking down a killer who was using bombs in toys to kill people. This killer had placed one inside of a remote controlled car and sent it under the car that Tom was using. Tom was getting coffee for him and his partner when the RC car blew up. It damaged the unmarked police car and badly injured Tom's partner. After the crime scene techs were done at the scene they found enough of the RC car which led Tom to the killer. Lesley explained that Tom's new partner was a detective who'd been on the force for awhile. Hearing this news did make Tom feel better, he was just handed a new case which could be the start of a serial killer running around LA and the last thing he needed was to train a new detective. Tom thanked Lesley for the news and the new case file. He returned to his desk and sat down waiting for his new partner.

Tom had his own well known reputation around the department. He had a no non sense approach towards crime. Tom did whatever he had to do in order to remove the crooks from the streets. Sometimes these actions got him in trouble with those higher up in the department and at city hall. But Tom was a damn good cop who earned the trust of many of the officers and detectives around him. Lesley hadn't told Tom who his new partner would be, but he would Sora from her own reputation.

Sora rushed thru her aparment, checking and rechecking that she wasn't forgeting anything. She stopped and looked at herself in the mirror, dark blueish gray eyes staring back at her. She lifted a long black lock of hair out of her face, placing it behind her ear. She normaly wore her hair up in a high ponytail, but had decied to let it down to day.

It cassated down her back in thick loose curls, stopping a little below her elbows. She pulled at her crisp white blouse, checking for stains. She made sure that her badge was hidden, wearing it on a thin chain that let her hide her badge underneath her shirt. She ran her hands along the side of her dark black jeans, her black belt holding them up. Her black converse were laced up, and she nodded to herself, happy with her look.

She jogged down the stairs, smiling at the doorman and taking a breath of air as she walked outside. Getting into her old truck, she started it up and pulled out of her normal parking spot. After battling traffic for 20 mintues, she pulled in to a parking spot at the deparment. She got out of her truck, patting it. She walked up to her desk, sitting in her chair. Her desk was neat and tidy, since Sora had been rasied knowing that presention was everything.

She flipped on the police radio she kept on her desk, listening intently as a possible 211 was sent out. She knew her police car was in use, and decided to sit and listen. After the whole ordeal was over, she leaned back in her chair. Thomas Reed had quite a reputation. Although she didn't quite agree with some of his methods, she still held a small amount of admiration for him.

She stood, walking over to Toms desk and looking around for him. She sat on the corner of his desk, waiting patiently.

Tom was away from his desk when Sora showed up. He returned carrying a coffee mug in his right hand. Tom saw Sora sitting on the edge of his desk, but thought nothing of it. Sora had been around for a few days since she was transferred over from Narcotics. She was waiting to be assigned a new partner in Robbery/Homicide. Tom never gave it any thought that Sora was his new partner. " Hey Sora. " Tom said as he sat down in his chair. He took a long sip from his coffee mug then sat it down. Since Sora hadn't been assigned a partner yet, Tom expected that she was bored. This was the reason why he thought Sora was sitting on his desk. " Feeling bored because Lesley hasn't assigned you a partner? " Tom asked as he opened the case file that Lesley gave him just a short time ago.

Tom made sure too get an eyeful of how nicely Sora's ass looked while she was seated upon his desk. Sora was a fine looking woman, pretty face, hot body and an ass to died for. Since her first day on the job, Sora was hit on and gawked at by damn near every man and more then a few women in the department. She seemed use to it by now, but whether it bothered her.....well that was up too Sora to say.

She rasied her eyebrow at Tom as he returned, considering that he hadn't been told that she was to be his new partner. Standing up and extending her hand, she figured she would introuced herself as his new partner, and see if he knew anything about it.

"I am Sora Gray, your new partner." She watched his reaction carefully, her eye twitching in annoyence as she saw he was looking over her body. Just about everyone in the office had done it since she had started a few days ago, and it annoyed her. Blinking once, she waited to see what Tom would do.

Tom's eyes shifted from Sora's body upwards to her face when she announced herself as his new partner. He blinked his eyes a few times until what Sora said has sunk in. Tom rose too his feet and took Sora's hand into his. " This was unexpected......But at least you're not green. " Tom said jokingly as he shook Sora's hand. He sat back down, picked up the case file and handed it too Sora. " Since we're partners now.....This is our case. " Tom gave the file too Sora so she could look it over. He then pointed out the photos taken of the murder scene and of the female victims body. He said that this murder took places 8 days ago.

The body had been found early in the morning of August 31st near the main stable gate of the Diamond Bar Stables in Griffith Park. The female victim was identified as Mary Ann Nichols, a 32 year old prostitute. The ME report was also in the file, the following is the official report. Time of death is believed to be around 3:45 am on August 31st. The victim's throat had been slit twice from left to right and her abdomen mutilated with one deep jagged wound, several incisions across the abdomen, and three or four similar cuts on the right side caused by the same knife at least 6–8 inches long used violently and downwards. The victim was killed at the scene where the body had been found. Blood surrounded the body, had soaked into the victim's clothes and hair as well as the ground.

While Sora was reading over the file, the phone on Tom's desk rang. " Robbery/Homicide......Sergeant Reed........Yeah.......Where? " Tom said as he started to write an address down on a note pad. " Okay have the black n whites seal off the area.....We're on our way. " Tom hung up the phone then he stood up. " We got another one sweet cheeks......Let's go. " Tom was joking with the sweet cheeks comment, but Sora did have a nice ass and one that he wouldn't mind seeing without pants covering it.

Sora nodded and smiled at his joke. She took the file from his as he handed it to her, opening it and nodding as he told he about the murders.

Looking thru the pictures, she grimmanced at the dead women. Whoever was doing this had a strong distaste of women, and was seriously sick. She looked over the photo, noticing all the blood. Was there a reason the women had been stabbed so many times? It took a lot of endurence to stab and cut someone that much, so the killer could either have a partner, or have a mutiple personallitly disorder.

Sora looked up as tom answer the call, once again raiseing an eyebrow. Understanding the situation, she started towards where the police cars were stored.

The two detectives left the station and jumped into Tom's unmarked police car. A second female body had been found downtown, in the rear of an apartment building. Tom pulled the car into the alley and parked it. He and Sora exited from the car and walked to where the uniformed officers had the scene blocked off. Tom & Sora had to pass through a sea of on lookers and members of the press who were looking for their next big story. The body had been covered with a blanket from one of the patrol cars which answered the first call on the body. Tom knelt down and lifted the blanket. The female victim had wounds too her body just like those of Mary Nichols. " Looks like our killer has chalked up another body. " Tom said as he looked up at Sora who was hovering around him. He replaces the blanket over the victim then stood up. " Do we have an ID on the victim yet? " Tom asked then a uniformed officer came up pulling out a note pad. " Yes Sir.......From the ID we found in her hand bag.......Her name is Ann Chapman......White female aged 25.......I ran her background......She's an exotic dancer down at the body shop. " Tom nodded his head as the officer spoke. It was funny how people used words like exotic to describe a girl who is a stripper.

The officer returned to crowed control as Tom slowly looked around. Members of the press were yelling out his name for a comment. Tom walked over to them which quieted it them down. " We are following up every lead which comes in......We don't have a suspect yet.....But I feel that we'll have one very soon. " Tom didn't answer any questions from the press after he made a statement. He turned and walked away. " What do you think Sora?........Serial Killer? " Tom asked as he stopped then looked at Sora.

Sora watched the streets as the drove to the crime scene, and got out and pushed her way thru the mob that surround the srime scene. Her eye twitched in annoyence as she finally pushed pass everyone. This was none of there buiseness, yet the flocked let bees to honey. Seeing the body, she knelt down next to Tom and examined it. It was almost exacatly similar to the other girl, same stab wounds and everything.

Standing up and brushing off her pants, she said,

"Unfortantly, I belive we do." She sighed as she shook her head at the dead body. Why did young girls always resort to stripping and prousting? She would never know.

Tom agreed with Sora, they did have a serial killer running around the city. It had been a week since the first body had been found. This meant that the killer was attacking his victims a week apart. Hopefully he stuck to this and they wouldn't have another body until next week. But one can never guest how a serial killer will work. They often will change how, where and when they leave bodies that are found. This made serial killers very hard to catch. Tom & Sora stood quietly talking about the two women. In the crowed not more then 50 feet away from then the killer looked on. He was watching just what Tom and Sora were doing. There was no way of knowing that this man was a killer. He looked just like everyone else who was standing there watching. Looking normal is how most serial killers hide and this man wasn't any different. Tom pointed at the apartment building and suggested that he and Sora go floor to floor checking each apartment too see if anyone could help with information on this new murder.

Tom & Sora entered the building from a rear door. Once they were gone, the man slowly walked out of the alley and disappeared into the downtown area. Tom asked Sora to start on the first floor while he started at the top floor. They would meet somewhere in the middle, after which they would return to the station.

Sora glanced at the crowd as her mind wander to who the serial killer was and why he was killing these women. The two victims had both been female, eight years apart in age, and they both had jobs that most would frown upon. She consider that facts she had. He could be a vigalante, beliving he was ridding the world of prostutes and strippers. She didn't belive it was that, since the victims had been so brutaly mudered. She rubbed her arms, knowing anyone in that crowd could be the killer. Was he watching them right now? Shaking her head, she nodded at Toms idea. She wouldn't let her parinoid side interfer with her job.

Walking to the first aparment door, she knocked on it.

The two detectives worked their way from one apartment to another. They met up on the 3rd floor continuing to move from apartment to apartment until the building had been covered. The people inside were ether asleep during the murder, weren't home or claimed not too have heard anything. If it was true that no one heard the woman cry out, then the murderer was as silent as death it's self. It was also possible that no one wanted to get involved, which was an old story every cop had to deal with. There were many cases that the people demanded fast action from the police. But when it came time to step up and help with a case, those same people didn't want to be involved. Tom had seen his share of cases just like that and he was sure that Sora had seen the same.

The two detectives returned to their car and started back to the station. Not long after getting underway, the police radio came alive. " All units on all frequencies stand by........A 211 occurred 10 minutes ago at the jewelry store on the corner of South Broadway & West 7th Street....Two males in their early 20's.....Driver White.....Passenger Black.....both armed......Both dressed in black clothing...........211 Suspects are driving a late 90's model Green Chevy Camaro.....The vehicle has driver side door has damage.........No license reported. " Tom looked over at Sora once the dispatcher was done. He looked ahead just in time too see a late model Green Chevy Camaro with driver side door damage drive passed them on the other side of the street. " Hold on! " Tom warned as he jerked the steering wheel hard and spun the car around. He flipped on the siren and placed the flashing red light on the roof of the car. " This is 1 L 90..........We're in pursuit of 211 jewelry store suspects driving west on Maple! " Tom had picked up the radio's microphone and told dispatch that they had found the suspects. Once they were close enough, Tom gave the dispatcher the license plate number. The chase was on as the two cars roared through the city street. Once the crooks realized that they couldn't shake the cop. They decided to ditch their car and try to lose the cops on foot. They brought their car to a screeching halt, the passenger jumped out and ran for a warehouse. The drive took off the other way heading for a neighborhood. " The passenger is yours! " Tom yelled out as he brought the car to a stop then jumped out chasing after the driver.

Sora grumbled as they exited the aparment building, all the people they had asked saying they new nothing. How could someone not hear a girl being mudered outside of there aparment building. She shook her head as she got into the car with Tom.

She listened as the radio went off, and gripped the edge of the seat as Tom drove off. She had had her share of crazy drivers, and was one herself. She was already out of the car as the crimanls tried to take off on foot. She chased after the passager, keeping him in her sites as she gained ground and got closer.

The black suspect looked back and saw that a woman was chasing him. He ducked into the warehouse then disappeared inside. He was planning on catch this honey off guard and made by getting some pussy. It didn't matter whether he forced her or not, it was all the same. He knew that her partner must be busy with his friend and his friend was fast. The black man hid waiting for Sora to enter the warehouse. He would pounce on her when the chance was given. All he had to do was wait for her to come close enough so he could get the drop on her.

She saw the suspect go into the warehouse, and drew her gun. Staying close to the shadows, she moved around hidden, looking for the suspect. She stayed hidden, picking up a rock that was on the ground and throwing it acroas the way, hitting something and causing a loud crash. She waited to see if the suspect would come out, and if not, she would call her backup.

The suspect jumped out after hearing the rock hit. It was then that he realized that female cop had thrown it. " OH DAMN!!!! " The man yelled out in disgust as he dropped his pistol and raised his hands. He placed them on his head and turned his back towards Sora. " Son of a bitch! " He continued to curse his luck. This just wasn't far, he should have know that she would use an old trick like throwing a rock. The man let out a deep long sigh while shaking his head.

She aimed her gun at the suspect, watching him and shaking her head. Dumbass, she thought to her self as she called out in a commanding voice,

""On the ground." She motioned with her gun, keeping it trained on him as she walked over and kicked his gun away. As he got on the ground, she placed a foot on his back and handcuffed him. Keeping her foot pressed into his back, she spoke into her radio,

"Tom? You read me?" She then turned to the suspect.
"Your under arrest."

Tom replied to Sora question with a no. He added that the driver was in custody and they were on their way back to the car. Once getting back Tom noticed that Sora already had her suspect cuffed and in the car. After Tom placed the driver in the backseat, they all returned to the Central Station. It took the better part of an hour to book the two suspects for robbery. That of course was just the start of the paperwork that Tom & Sora had to do. They also had to write up reports on the new body which had been found earlier. By the time those reports were finished, most of the day had been shot. It was almost time to clock out and head home. That was until a rather odd man showed up at the station asking too see Tom.

The man was shown the way and he walked from the front desk into the Robbery/ Homicide Squad room where he found Tom and Sora chatting. He was an older man, in his early 60's, well dressed. " Sergeant Reed?.......I'm Jonathan Gateman.......I teach English Literature at UCLA.......I'm also an amateur criminologist and expert on the Whitechapel murders. " Tom looked up at this man as he started to talk. " Well it's nice too meet you Professor.....What can I do for you? " Tom said as he was wondering where all of this was going. " I believe it's I who can help you......I heard about the second killing today and I believe I know how your killer is working. " Gateman said as he lifted a briefcase and laid it onto Tom's desk. He opened the case and pulled out a paper and laid it front of Tom. Professor Gateman pointed out that the first two murder victim's shared the same names as the first two victim's of Jack the Ripper. Even where the victim's were found seemed to be like where the original victim's were found. Professor Gateman pointed out the stables and the fact that the second victim was found in behind a lodging. In this case the victim was found behind an apartment building.

Tom looked at the paper and listen to Professor Gateman. He then sat back into his chair. " Professor....Do you expect me to believe that Jack the Ripper is killing these girls? " Professor Gateman shook his head while laughing. " Oh no........I believe someone is out there reenacting the original Ripper killings. " Tom stood up thanking Professor Gateman for his help. He told the Professor to leave his name, phone number and address with the desk sergeant in case they needed to speak with him again. Tom sat back down once the Professor was gone. He shook his head while looking at the paper that Gateman left behind. Tom looked over at Sora. " How about a beer?.....I'll buy? " Tom asked as he stood up again grabbing his coat which was hanging on the back of his chair. He slipped his coat on then tucked the paper inside.

She dragged the perp back to the police car, throwing him into the back seat and leaning against it, waiting for Tom. She got into the car and was silent as they drove, thinking about their case.

As they began booking the perps, she groaned inwardly. There was nothing she hated more than paperwork, and there sure as hell was a lot of it.

As the Professer came in and told them about his theroy, she chewed on the edge of her pen, adding that to her list of possiblitys. She thought about it for a bit more when Tom asked if she wanted a beer.

Smiling, she said,

""Free beer? Count me in." She got up and rechecked her desk, everything perfect.

The department allows it's detectives to use their unmarked police cars to travel around, even off duty. The reason for this was because each detective was on call even when off duty. Of course, the detectives could use a private vehicle like Sora, but Tom choose the unmarked police car to drive. The bar that Tom was buying the drinks at was just a few blocks from the Central Station. He met Sora there and they sat down on a couple of empty stools. Tom dropped a 10 on the bar and asked for two beers. The bartender took the money, he soon returned with the change and two beers. He placed one down in front of Tom and the other in front if Sora.

Tom felt that Sora had been to quiet about Professor Gateman. She hadn't said anything about what she was thinking or whether this Professor was a crack pot. Tom needed to find out just what was on his new partner's mind. " So Sora.......What did you think about Professor Gateman and his theory about a copycat Jack the Ripper? " Tom asked as he reached for his beer. He lifted the bottle and took a good long drink waiting too hear just what Sora thought.

She opened her beer and took a sip as Tom spoke, nodding her head slightly. She wasn't one to share her thoughts, but he was her partner. Taking a moment to coolect her thoughts, she took another sip of her bear and started to speak.

"I think that Professer Gatemen has a plausible theroy. It could also be a vigalante. But they were killed brutely. It could also be a person with a multie personalitly disorder with a strong hate for women. Most don't have the endurence to stab someone that many times. "

Tom wasn't sold on Professor Gateman's theory that their killer was a copycat. He listened closely to everything that Sora said. What she said did make sense in different ways. It was still to early to tell just what kind of serial killer they were dealing with. All they had was that the killer had murdered two women who worked in the sex industry. Tom removed the paper that Professor Gateman had left behind. This paper had details of each killing that the London police attached to Jack the Ripper. Tom laid the paper down in front of Sora. This was her first chance too look over the information that Professor Gateman wrote up for the LAPD. It was quite detailed, giving names, types of wounds, how the bodies were found, where the bodies were found and who the possible suspects were. As Professor Gateman pointed out, the Ripper was never caught. He could have been put away for other crimes, but no one knew for sure. " The Professor seemed pretty sure of himself........And if we are dealing with a nut who thinks he's Jack the Ripper reborn.......It's not going to be easy to find him. " Tom spoke while holding his beer. He lifted the beer and took a drink after speaking.

She swirled her finger around the mouth of her beer bottle, deep in thought as Tom spoke. She looked over the papers that Professer Gatemen had brought, examaining all the evidence they had so far. It wasn't much to go on, but she had her theroys. To her, it was strange Professer Gatemen knew so much about the cases. Either he was obessive over the case, or something else. Whatever it was, she would keep an eye on him. She looked over the file Gateman had brought, seeking any critacl details. Pushing it slightly to the side, she leaned forward in her chair, placing her elbows on the bar and clasping her hands together, resting her chin on them. She was deep in thought again, nodding as Tom spoke.

"Agreed." She muttered, her mind still on the case.

Tom finished his bottle and bought a second round for him and Sora. He didn't believe that Gateman was any kind of threat. Professor Gateman was an old man and it was hard to believe that he could kill those girl with such brutality. It was of course possible for something like that to happen, Tom just doubted that it would. Tom believe that Sora was right about one thing, their killer hated women for some reason. Perhaps the killer got some sexual disease from a hooker? That could explain his hatred towards women and why he had picked those who use sex as a way to make money. " You know......It's possible that the killer got an STD from some woman that he paid for sex and now he blames all women who work selling sex for money. " Tom said as he started drinking his second beer. At this point any theory was as good as another. The killer just wasn't leaving any clues behind. He never left any prints and no one ever saw him. Right now this L.A. Ripper was just as mysterious as the real Ripper was.

The bartender switched on the tv. The nightly news was already on and the lead story was about the new murder. The reporter on air was telling how he had spoken with a Professor Gateman at UCLA who had just come out from the Central Police Station. The reporter announced that Professor Gateman believed that the L.A. killer was reenacting the Ripper murders from 1888. The news reporter the dubbed the murderer as the L.A. Ripper. " Oh great!.......I should have told Gateman not to talk with the damn press......Bunch of freaking vultures. " Tom said while shaking his head.
