Why do you care?
Not so much a rule, as something members should be aware of:

Staff and members are all people and not all people are going to get along for one reason or another. Since this is independent of position, members do have the ability to place staff on 'mute' in chat. However, doing this does not mean that rules will not be enforced. Quite the contrary. Just because a member decides to 'mute' a staff member, the staff member can indeed still see that person's comments, can indeed still delete that person's comments should the need arise (though this should never be abused by any staff member), can indeed still kick/ban that person (admin excluded) from the chat at any given time if the need should arise.

That said, if a member chooses to place a staff member on 'mute', they are then choosing to potentially risk their time in chat to an extent because they are choosing to cut communications between themselves and said staff member. End of story. So, if the 'muted' staff member is the only one in chat at a particular time and the person doing the 'muting' breaks a rule, the standard verbal warning they would typically get cannot be given. Thus, the 'muted' staff member has no choice but to temporarily kick (default kick should be 2 minutes) the member doing the 'muting' as a means of indicating that they've done something wrong, though they will also be sure to send you a courtesy PM indicating what you've done so that you are aware of the offense and not left wondering what you've done wrong. If the member doing the 'muting' decides to stir up trouble as a result of being kicked from chat for such things there will be harsher repercussions (ie, temp and/or perma chat bans depending on the offense) and this is mainly because they have chosen to cut off communications from staff making our job harder and if they cannot accept this and the fact that we have no choice but to do certain things to work around that, then that is no longer our problem, but their own. And, if this is something that cannot be accepted, then I strongly suggest that people think harder before 'muting' a staff member.
