It was an early morning in the middle of December and Roxy had just woken up. As she sat up in bed she let out a yawn before sighing softly while running her fingers through her hair. She then rubbed her eyes before checking her cell phone which had no missed calls or text messages. Then the picture on her nightstand caught her eye, it was of her and her best friend before he was deployed. "I miss you..." She said to herself with a sigh.

After a moment of sitting there Roxanne stood from her bed and picked up her cell phone, stuffing it into the pocket of her pajama bottoms before walking out of the room and heading down stairs where she was greeted by her brindle American Pit Bull Terrier Squeaky who was three months old. "Hey boy." She said to him with a smile as she watched him grab one of his toys. As she made it down stairs and walked into the kitchen she could hear the dog following her. "Is jackass at work?" She asked the dog, talking about her brother but not expecting a reply. She opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water before walking into the living room and taking a seat on the couch but before she did she looked through the window to see her brother's car gone, which made her happy. As she sat there she picked up the remote and began flipping through channels, intending on her Saturday morning to consist of her watching television. Squeaky jumped up next to her and she threw her ball down the hall for him, watching him as he ran off to get it.

Roxanne was eighteen and had lightly tanned skin. Her eyes were a bright Emerald color and her hair was long, curly and a rich, dark chocolate color. Her nails were painted black, in her ears were were a pair of Sapphire colored guitar picks, around her neck was a white gold chain, from which a heart shaped white gold locket hung and inside it were two pictures of her and her best friend from before he left. He had given it to her as a present, claiming it was so that he would never forget him. Today she was wearing a plain black tank top and a pair of pajama bottoms that were light white in color and had skills and full bloomed red roses on them.

As the puppy brough the ball back and dropped it she tossed it down the hall again and as he dashed after it she sighed, looking down at the Gold colored Sapphire class ring that was on her finger, silently wishing he came home safe. Of course, she was clueless to the fact that he had arrived back in town a few days ago.
