One time, at Band camp. . . (Candira x Atom)

Roxxi was relieved when he told her he'd take her out and seemed happy about it. She smiled at him and stole a kiss from him as he mentioned more fun at the restaurant. "We'll have to see what it's like there," she said with a little wink. He pecked her cheek and asked the million-dollar question. With a sigh, she put her hand on her up and looked at the bus. "I don't know. We have to tell them something though. I think it's pretty safe to assume we don't want to say what actually just happened though...You decide. I'll back you up."

She squeezed his hand and started to head toward their bandmates and their manager. She was pretty positive they wouldn't be terribly happy. Sophie and V probably wouldn't care all that much as long as they were alright. Morty, however, would be pissed. And Tom...well he would be Tom.

The man's mind was already semi-made up. Even if she wouldn't venture and have fun, he would make the move and make sure she had fun. As they finally made the walk back to the bus, holding hands the entire time, they arrived, only to see a fuming Morty storm out of the bus doors and grasp his hands around Ryan's neck, causing Ryan to let go of Roxxi's hands. There was no doubt that he was stronger than Ryan was, he had a lower base and more weight to throw around, Ryan was unsure about what was going to happen, but he was pretty sure it would not be as fun as he would like it to be.

---

There they were. Morty paced around for a sec. He was unsure how to handle this. He stormed out of the bus and immediately eyed his drummer and his bassist holding hands. This is what put Morty over the edge. They didn't have to say anything, this was no reason to be late. As his hands gripped around the collar, he swung Ryan against the bus. "What the fuck are you two thinking." He said as he eyed Roxxi. "Do you know how fucking unprofessional this makes us look, and the reputation that comes with that sort of thing?" Ryan tried opening his mouth to try and defend himself, but he just pushed him against the wall. "No. You shut the fuck up. We almost lost our gig, we had to be at sound check five minutes ago, and they almost gave out timeslot to someone else." He said as sweat was beading his forehead. "Now, get your ass in the fucking bus and get ready, we have five -- no four minutes to get to the venue and even make the show." He said as he stepped back so they could get into the bus. Lucky for them, the venue was in walking distance, but regardless of how far away it was, he was still in the right.

And immediately Roxxi felt like shit. She was actually a little afraid for Ryan as Morty swung him around like that. She couldn't defend herself for being late but there was one thing she could do. "Back off, Morty. I'll give it to you that you have a right to be pissed, but you could have all gone on without us to the venue if you really needed to be there," she said going to stand next to Ryan. "And just because you're pissed, it doesn't give you a right to shove people around like that! And what would happen if you actually hurt him?"

She glared at the man and made a sound of disgust before entering the van. "Quit wasting time and go if we're so late."

Sophie was shocked when she saw Ryan and Morty. She was only mildly surprised when Roxxi jumped in and then got on the bus in a bad mood. Great. Just what they needed: a rattled drummer and bassist. Sighing, she went to help Roxxi get ready. She got out the stage make up and waited for her friend to get changed. She was out less than five minutes later, appreciative for Sophie's help.

V, for her part in all of this watched with pity for her friends. She would have been upset if they'd lost the gig, but it wouldn't have been the end of the world. And since they'd had a previous perfect record, she highly doubted it would make the entertainment world come to a screeching halt. She didn't know what had happened with those two, and, though she was curious, she didn't really need to know.

"Morty. Touch anyone else in the band like that again and we will be looking for a new manager. There's a rep attached to violent behavior and unprofessional-ism on your part as well. Remember that. Now let's go already."

The band manager looked at V, and processed her empty threat. He was smarter than that. As smart as these kids were, they were just that. Kids. There was no way in hell that they would be able to find another manager on the road, there was no way for them to find another manager as good as he was for as cheap as he was, and there w as no way they were going to be able to find someone with the same connections as he did. "The only rep is for my bandmates, and I'm doing this out of your best interest." He said as he narrowed his eyes, "So, if you want to find another manager in the middle of plum fuck Arizona, with as many connections that I have, then by all means, pull the trigger and fire me." He said. He had a much greater business sense than anyone on the bus, that was for sure.

Without another word to anyone, he turned the bus on and drove them to the back of the ampitheatre. He seemed to always be butting heads with the band mates, he didn't even know why he was giving them such a low wage. Perhaps it was the fact that one of the band mates was related, but perhaps it was something else. He still thought it was rather ridiculous that they were defending those two actions. Christ, they were late for fuck's sake.

-----

The bassist who had been swung around realized the manager was right. They really couldn't have gone to the venue without huge pieces in a band like a bassist and a drummer, could you imagine how a band with a singer, keyboardist, and guitarist would sound? Terrible. It wasn't as though it was an attack on Tom, V, or Sophie, but it would be like trying to start a car with only half an engine! Also, Morty was giving them a great deal, he took a small percent out of what they made and distributed the rest into open bank accounts, keeping very organized receipts adding up everything that was in the account for them.

Moving, the man just got on a new flannel that wasn;'t wrinkled, skinny jeans, and a beanie. He was ready. The worst part, was all of this band drama was his fault. However, he put on a different face, and moved towards the front of the bus, in an effort to apologize to Morty.

Roxxi got her head in the game and figured that later she would apologize to Morty as well. It wasn't as though she didn't like him, but seeing him swing Ryan around got her pissed. She didn't take kindly to abuse thanks to family history. But no one had been hurt, and she knew Marty was right about them being late and possibly getting a reputation--but a one-time thing like this seemed unlikely to give them an awful reputation. Shit happened on the road, surely people planned for it.

Whatever, she was ready to do this. She calmed down after talking with Sophie and was back in the right frame of mind by the time they took the stage.

Sophie was glad that she could be of help in more ways than one. She didn't like when people in the band fought. And as much as she liked Morty, he could have handled the situation a bit more delicately. With a sigh, she let it roll off her chest. The best way to get out pent up aggression and emotions was to perform. So when they went on that night, the keyboardist gave her all.

V's threat had, in fact, been an empty one. Necessity deemed that they continue working with Morty. He was the cheapest, most well-connected manager they could find--and he did a pretty good job of keeping them all on track. Despite that, he could be a real ass sometimes. And as much as the bastard knew he was indispensable, she couldn't let him go around thinking that it was okay to just toss her bandmates around however he pleased. A bassist or drummer who was out of sorts could have ruined their show, whether they made it on time or not. He wasn't thinking clearly.

Of course, that didn't mean she wouldn't have words with Ryan and Roxxi later on. She was plenty upset with them for causing problems. But she couldn't direct that anger at them now.

After the performance, V took hold of the two of them and hauled them to a temporary dressing room.

"Okay you two. I don't know what kind of shit you were trying to pull, but you better spill it."

The show had gone great and Morty seemed to have disappeared. Even as their show ended, Tom thought they seemed to sound a bit off. Perhaps it was because he was a bit of a perfectionist, but he could point out a couple of times where one of them messed up. They all did it, whether it was Tom sounding a bit off tune by playing the wrong chord, V's voice cracking, or even Ryan missing one of the notes in the bass line he was dropping. The weirdest thing was, the only one who seemed to have now messed up was Sophie. She also looked great, moving her hips and her hair was awesome and. . . What the fuck was wrong with him? Shaking the thoughts from his head, he thought further about the show and their mess ups. Even then, the crowd never seemed to notice and they still reacted very greatly when the showed finished. This time, they were in a sort of bar and stage combo. Not like a jazz club or a poetry club, more like a bar off to the side.

After he had put his beloved guitar away, he found Sophie after the show. Putting a hand on her shoulder he smiled. "You look-- sounded great." He said quickly changing his mind as to what he was saying. Feeling rather like an idiot, he just shut up for a second thereby making the situation awkward.

---

The bassist sighed after the show. He had messed up on his solo. The one part that he had to get right, he messed up. He wasn't sure if that was because he was late because he was messing around with Roxxi or because he didn't get enough practice, or what it was. Fact of the matter was, they couldn't be doing that in the middle of Cowboy Stadium or when they became a more polished band. He wanted to slap himself across the face, but V came and pulled him aside.

When she asked her question, he knew that Roxxi said she would follow his lead, but his mind was blanking. He had no idea what to say, and that was made clear but the uh's that came studdering from his mouth. Looking towards Roxxi's direction, his brain scrambled to come up with a viable excuse for why he had acted like a complete jackass on stage and why they were so late to the party. It was as easy as saying the line in the store was long, or something along those lines, but his mind kept returning to eating out Roxxi in the ballpit. What was happening to him?

After Sophie washed off her stage make up, she applied some light regular stuff, making sure her cell was charged. She still wore the same outfit, not caring to change right now. She was just making sure everything was set on her part when Tom found her. She smiled when he saw him. He seemed in high spirits, which was always a good thing. His fumble with the compliment made her wonder, but she just chuckled, making a face. "Well thanks. You too?" She shrugged, aware that his hand was still on her shoulder. She didn't seem to mind though.

"Everything okay, Tom?" she asked, filling in the rather awkward silence between them. "You seem kinda nervous or something." She looked mildly concerned, watching him with a small smile on her face. "Wanna go grab some food? I'm kinda hungry. It's been awhile since we had those burgers."

V crossed her arms and leaned back, staring at the two of them as the stood there in nervous silence. It was sort of funny because even though she was shorter than either of them, V had the uncanny ability to make one feel like a child. She had quite the personality and as she waited for a response, she got the feeling that these two had really done something bad. Ryan looked like he was at least trying to think of something, but it didn't seem to be working.

Her eyes closed and she sighed. "Well shit. I wanted you to just tell me something like you lost your phone, but you really did something big, didn't you?"

Roxxi had remained silent for the moment. "Oh come on, would you really have bought that?" She asked, putting her hands on her hips.

"No, but at least it would have been better than this!" V shook her head, sighing.

The redhead looked at Ryan and the two of them were really in hot water now. She wondered why he hadn't said anything. They'd waited too long and there was no going back now.

"Jeez, what happened? We really almost lost a gig, and that's not like you guys. I want to know what happened, damnit. Help me understand what possible reason you could have for blowing off practice."

The guitarist smiled. "Nothing. Nothing is wrong at all." He said as he moved his hand away from her shoulder. Nodding slowly, he laughed. "Yeah sure, let's go." He said as he looked around for the others so he could invite them. When he didn't see anyone, he just shrugged and turned to her. "No one's around." He said as he started to head towards the door. There didn't seem to be much around for them to go eat, but he did still have the car keys from before. Smiling as he just moved and unlocked the door, he was sure Morty wouldn't mind that he took the car. Afterall, he did lend it to him

As he drove back into town, he looked for something that wasn't just fast food. Deciding on an italian place that looked rather expensive, he stopped outside and looked at Sophie. Exhaling slowly, he got his own confidence up. "Sophie." He said with a smile. "Would you go on a date with me to. .. " He paused and looked outside the car at the Italian restaurant. ". . .Pasta Factory?" He finished with a laugh.

----

The bassist looked at V. There was really nothing to say and she was cutting in on their date and "fun" time later this evening. He felt like a dick for leaving one of his friends out of the loop, and but he didn't want to say too much and incriminate Roxxi also. How would she react if he had told V that they were fooling around in a ball pit in a toy store. If she brought it up, that would be fine, but he was pretty sure she thought the same thing he did about the whole situation. Letting out another sigh, he decided the best reaction was to play defensivly. He knew V was trustworthy (no matter what Tom said) but he still couldn't bring himself to telling her.

"Well, technically, we were just ten minutes late." He said under his breath, but audibly enough for everyone in the room to here. Great, he might have started an arguement.

Sophie blinked and looked around, taking another look to see if anyone else was around. She didn't see anyone either. "Huh...I wonder where they all went," she muttered. "Oh well," she said with a shrug. "Let's go anyway." She smiled and walked with him to the car, finding that she liked this more easy-going side of Tom. He was much easier to get along with like this anyway. She grabbed her purse and walked with him to the car, happy to let him drive.

After little drive they found the pasta factory, and she was kind of excited to see what it would be like. she couldn't remember the last time she'd had good food like this. She watched curiously as he took a deep breath and then turned to her. And he asked her out.

She laughed as he finished on a rather odd key and smiled. "A date huh? I dunno...that's murky territory... But I guess a date won't kill anyone," she teased. "Sure. Let's go."

V sighed and shook her head at Ryan's response. Roxxi did a face-palm. "That's besides the point, you guys! You know how coordinators and people like Morty get their panties in a twist when it comes to schedules! If it were up to me, ten minutes is ten minutes. But we almost lost a gig. That means something. What is going on?" Concern mixed with outrage was totally her style.

Roxxi sighed and looked up at V. "We were in the middle of something, okay? We came as fast as we could and we're sorry we were late. Can't we just leave it at that?" It seemed as though Ryan didn't want to say anything and she'd told him she'd go along with whatever he said. "It won't happen again, and it shouldn't have happened this time. We get it V. Just leave it alone for now, okay?"

The redhead's words seemed to put V in her place. The singer frowned, but said no more. It was probably because when Roxxi said to drop something, it was generally for a good reason. After a moment of tense silence, V sighed. "Fine. But you two better not do this again, or I'll come after you." That said, she uncrossed her arms and left the room looking a little sad.

Roxxi watched her until the two of them were alone. "Well, that's taken care of. All things considered, it could have gone better." She looked over at her partner in crime and wondered what was up. She came closer to him and pulled him into a hug. "Let's not do something that'll make them mad like this again, kay?" She wasn't accusing him of anything and she wasn't complaining. Just saying she didn't want to repeat this particular experience.

With a slight laugh, he smiled. It was a stupid thing to ask, and perhaps he was rushing things a little bit. It was a tad bit awkward and he was unsure how this was going to go. Something about this entire situation seemed odd to him. He looked at her and nodded, getting out of the car and moving towards restaurant, moving to hold the door to the restaurant open for her. There was a tiny little tour of how they made the handmade pasta, and halfway through, the man made the move to grasp her hand, but let go soon after, he comment weighing strong in his mind at the moment.

The man's hands had been clammy, and he shoved his hands in his pockets. Feeling rather timid as they approached their table, the man smiled as he looked over the menu. Everything seemed so pricey, but it was a date afterall. He wanted this to be a successful first date, even if she didn't seem to want the date.

----

The man smiled as he looked at her. He didn't know what was wrong with her. "Well, let's go have fun." He said as he grabbed her hand and walked out the backdoor, trying to avoid everything that had gone down with V who was probably in the crowd. There was fun to be had. He had heard about a dark little pasta factory that was in this town. He had researched it after he had gotten ready. It didn't take that long to actually get ready for the show, now it was the matter of taking out Roxxi.

After calling a cab, and moving to the little pasta company, they took the tour, with Ryan joking the entire time. Looking at her as he got into their booth, he looked around the dark room, not even seeing Tom and Sophie on their own date. Looking deviously at Roxxi, he looked back down at the menu.

She hadn't meant to make him nervous or to feel bad at all--she'd just wanted to take the pressure off of him. It seemed as though she'd only put more on him though. She smiled brightly and thanked him for opening the door before she took the little tour with him. It was pretty interesting how they did it all, actually. When he held her hand, she held his with a smile and felt kind of special, despite the clammy state of his palms. She let go without comment when he did, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.

When they were seated she looked over the menu finding something she thought she'd like that wasn't insanely pricey and then set it aside. "So I feel like maybe I said the wrong thing earlier. I am thrilled to be here with you, Tom. I was just trying to kind of take the pressure off. It's a really neat place," she said, looking around.

Roxxi let go of him as he took her hand, smiling back at him. Whatever was up with him before seemed to be over now. "Alright. Let's go have fun." And then they were off, out the back way. While they waited for the cab she stayed close to him, holding his hand and chatting. At the restaurant, she enjoyed the tour, laughing at Ryan's jokes. The lighting left something to be desired if she wanted to see much beyond their table, but she was just fine with keeping with the intimate lighting. She smiled at him in their booth and glanced at her menu as well. The devious look in his eyes, however, had her looking back up at him in no time.

((Is this like a booth where they'd be sitting across from each other? Or is it sort of a circular one?))

((Eh, up to you. Doesn't really matter to me. . .))

The man smiled, trying to keep a straight face and let out a laugh. "No worries." He said and looked down at palms. He nodded at her comment and ordered something for himself. He had a kind of weird thing about not ordering the same thing as the person he was going out to eat with, even his own parents, but it didn't matter. Quickly, he found something and decided on it moving the menu quickly. He ordered a nice bottle of wine that would accompany the food they had both ordered and sat back, looking around the dark restaurant. It was mostly dark, and he was unable to find anything and turned his attention back to Sophie.

"So, how did you think the show went?" He said to her as he met her eyes once more. Of course, he had his own doubts about what had happened, but decided that he wouldn't bring up what he actually thought. In truth, he was a bit of a perfectionist and the little tweaks and mistakes that went on throughout the show that no one seemed to notice shouldn't bother them. For the equipment they had and for their budget they did perform perfectly.

---

Ryan had no idea what to do, but to make her squirm in this nice restaurant was something that was tugging at Ryan's conscience right now. True, he did want to eat her out again or something, but he almost felt like it was a little unfair. Still, if she didn't want to do anything now, that would be fine. Also taking a glance around the restaurant and seeing a few illuminated red faces, the visuals he was getting were not so great. Even if he stared right at Tom and Sophie, he wouldn't actually know that it was them. His mind drifted to what V was doing, stuck at the bar, feeling left out, but soon his eyes focused back on Roxxi.

"So, what did you think of the tour?"

Sophie smiled, glad that Tom was doing just fine. She ordered her own dish and smiled at him as he turned back to her. His question about the show inspired some thought. "Hmmm...you know the crowd seemed to really like us. Not many really obvious mistakes, but I noticed a lot of little ones. I'm not sure if that's because of what happened tonight and not practicing, or just not practicing. I had fun though," she said with a smile. "And that's really the most important thing, isn't it?" She tilted her head and wondered what he thought about her attitude.

Roxxi scooted closer to him in their circular booth, glad for the little bit of table cloth that was hanging down. She put her hand in his lap, rubbing his leg rather unassumingly...until it drifted more toward his crotch. "Not loving showering on the bus, but I do enjoy being with everyone most days," she said, leaning against him. "It's been fun so far. Hard work, but fun. What do you think?"

V wasn't particularly happy, but she couldn't say that she could stay in a bad mood with the fans in this place. She was complimented left and right, asked for autographs on the free cd's and offered multiple free drinks, none of which she accepted. Still, she sat down at the bar and ordered herself a drink. She'd go and see about food and more fun once she'd soaked up a few more positive vibes and danced a little.

Tom showed some of his teeth as the food arrived. It smelt great, but he wasn't that thrilled about the price of the stuff. He never showed his hand to her, however, in fact he looked absolutely pumped that he was about to eat this very delicious and spendy looking meal. Nodding slowly, he reassured her for just a moment. "Yeah, I suppose." He said as he just dug in, taking the piece of chicken and cutting a smaller piece that he could eat. In Tom's personal opinion, they couldn't be doing this kind of thing if they were trying to make it big. He had his own thoughts about where Ryan and Roxxi were, and judging by their reactions, he knew he was probably going to be right.

--

The man didn't notice her slight movements. Not that he was waiting for anything, he was going to start rubber her inner thigh here in a bit anyways. This thought was rather taken away because he put his arm around her warmly. Looking down at her, he smiled. "Aw, why don't you try showering with someone else to make it funner." He joked with her, and thought for a second. "Eh, it's alright." He said with a smile. "I mean, there's just too much drama. Even we are starting to cause it." He said with a slight laugh. He kissed the top of her head and started to rub her shoulder a little bit.

----

A very unassuming negro fellow noticed the asian at the bar and made his way towards her. He wore a silk black shirt with the first couple of buttons unbuttoned, and his long dreads hung near his face. Walking over to her and sitting down, he ordered his own drink and smiled at the bartender, tipping him rather well. He reeked of higher class cologne and smiled over at the girl. He knew about the band, and he knew probably more than he should about a tiny, new band like this one, he smiled at her. "Where are the rest of those bandmates of yours?" He asked with a laugh.

Sophie smiled and dug into her food, enjoying it once it arrived. She had chicken Florentine with farfalla and it was delicious. She smiled at him and wondered how his was. "How is it?" she asked, deciding to try and lighten the mood a little. Tom was a nice guy, and she wanted them both to have fun.

Roxxi stopped the beginning of something a bit more sexually charged as Ryan put his arm around her. She laughed at his comment and briefly imagined it with a shiver. That would be a fantasy she'd end up dreaming of. She smiled as he kissed her head and rubbed her shoulder. "Yeah, but drama's kind of a given in a band, isn't it? Besides, we can't let them have all the fun," she joked, leaning up to kiss his cheek. This was nice. Just sitting with him like this and talking was good. Maybe she wasn't going to do anything risky right away, but she would get around to it. for now, she just wanted to enjoy this side of their relationship.

V looked up as she smelled cologne. Granted, it was a nice scent--there was just too much of it. She smiled back at him though, seeing no reason to be rude straight off. "Actually, that's a good question. Off having fun I guess," she said with a shrug. Where were they? Hell if she knew. They were capable of taking care of themselves though. "So I guess you saw our set, huh?"
