It had been exactly three years since Lucia had departed from the Eastern Kingdom of Wyndia. The elven sorceress had been banished from her kingdom for trying to learn magic that was forbidden for women to learn. Only males could learn attack magic and females could only use healing magic. It was a stupid custom that their men used to keep their female counterparts in their place, and Lucia refused to be apart of that. She didn't care if she was banished. She refused to turn into her mother who had died a miserable death alone. Lucia's father had disappeared long ago, and her mother waited for him until her very last breath. She had nothing to show for her life. The only ambition she had was towards pleasing her husband. It was a pathetic and sad existence.

After her death, Lucia saw her father a year after with a new wife and family. He hadn't recognized her at all. Or maybe he did but refused to acknowledge her. She hated men. She didn't mind traveling from place to place alone. So long as she was gaining knowledge, she was content. Knowledge was the equivalent to power for a mage. The more magic learned, the more powerful you got. The better you could defend yourself.

Finally, after 14 days of travel, she found a large village. Her next destination was never known until she set eyes on it. She didn't have a map, a sense of direction, or a compass. Just her own two feet. It worked for her. As she walked into the village, she noticed that the sizes of the living quarters were rather large. Then again, the villagers that she saw were also large. Her, standing at 5'6" was a little intimidated. She stuck out like a sore thumb. She was the only one that was fully clothed in a black robe adorned with silver necklaces, bangles, rings, and a loose belt that hung across her waist.

She stopped in her tracks when she realized that she was also being watched, and the stares were hostile. She took her hood and slowly placed it above her head, hiding her small pointy ears and dirty blonde hair that had been tied back into a tight bun except for a few strands that had broken loose from her travels. It did not hide her crimson eyes and rune painted face, however. Although she still felt more comfortable this way.
