Mercenaries (sinfulrook & Loveme)

Leo blocked the first swing that was coming at him with ease, only using one hand to wield the sword. "If that would actually happen, then I would be embarassed and I would never speak to you again." He said with laughter, his sarcasm clear in his voice. "I would commend you on your victory, and teach you to further beat me more easily." He commented to her again.

When she lunged at him, he deflected the sword away from him and gently hit her on the arm. "You left yourself open." He told her, his lessons begining to kick in right there.

"What so you mean? I left myself open?" Though she had some training, she hadn't had enough to become skillfully skilled in the art of sword fighting. After he gently touched her on the arm, she started to encircle him. Swinging the sword back and forth.

Almost trying to distract him. When she had, she gently pushed it against his right leg. Perfect way for someone to fall, hurt. That way it woul be hard for them to get back up and fight against her.

Leo watched her dance around him, and that made him laugh. "Silly woman, you will not bring me down with just simple stepping and circling me." He said and blocked the sword that was going for his leg, stopping it dead in it's tracks. "I know every trick in the book." He told her and sent the sword flying out of her hand, holding his in front of her face.

"Now then, enough tricks, pick up your weapon and I will teach you simple things first." He said, hoping she wouldn't mind starting from the very begining.

Frowning when he blocked the hit, then frowning even more as he sent her sword flying. Looking around to see if she could grab it, she turned back around to see his sword pointed right towards her face. Sighing, she grimmaced.

Nodding, she didn't speak. Instead she moved away from him and picked the weapon up once more. Standing in front of him, she waited for further instructions. She knew he would run her till she eas sick, but that's how you learnt.

Leo watched her pick up her weapon and told her to take the stance he was taking, sword in one hand, one foot forward, facing towards the opponent. "Now, I want you to watch my chest and try to block my attacks." He told her, making slow swings at first, his eyes on hers.

"Keep your eyes on my chest, not my arm." He told her when she looked away from his chest, starting to swing a bit more quickly to pressure her a little bit.

It's what she did. Kept her eyes on his chest. Moving them away when he started to push faster. When he told her to keep her eyes on his chest, she moved them back. Her sword waiting to block his.

Once she had his rhytm down, she blocked a few of his swings. Others came and hit her. But she was learning the ropes.

Leo continued to swing at her slowly, stepping forward at her each time he swung slowly, hitting her gently. Once she got the rhythm of blocking his hits, he lowered his sword and smiled.

"Doing great so far, Katana." He complimented her and then turned to the side. "Now I will show you how to properly swing using one arm, and you copy me." He told her and got into the same stance he was before, making sure she did it. "Now... Top..." He said and swung straight down from the top. "Right..." He said and swung from the right side to the left. "Left..." He spoke and swung the other way. "And thrust." He finally told her and showed her the thrust with an extra step.

She followed his movements, finally getting the blocking down. Resting on her sword, she breathed deeply. Katana would make it through this, and show everyone she could do it. That she wasn't just some pour slave girl or use to be one.

"Your wearing me out Leo," she laughed softly and swung from the top, then feom the right, finally the left and lastly thrusted into the air.

Leo chuckled when she said he was wearing her down and watched her do all the movements. He shook his head when he watched her footwork with the swings, but nodded when she thrusted. He then walked over to her and put his hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry, this is the last thing we do today. We'll have plenty more time tomorrow." He told her with a smile and showed her how to properly use her feet, showing it with his own and swinging his sword. "This way, you get more power behind your swing, and will be harder to block." He said why it was necessary for that footwork to be correct.

Mocking him playfully, she done it correctly after a few more tries. Whomping softly, mostly to herself as she could feel the sores hurting her. She probably shouldn't of done that little bit of work. But oh well, she would keep it to herself.

Feeling her stomach growl, she spoke. "Leo... I'm hungry. I haven't eaten anything today..." Her voice was almost a whisper.

Leo went over to her and took the weapon from her. "Come on, it's almost lunch time, we'll go get you a nice, big meal for doing so well in practice today." He said with a smile and placed the weapons back on the rack, leading her out of the arena and to the nearest place where they served food. His stomach growled while they were walking, and he hoped she wouldn't notice he was hungry as well.

Nodding, she handed over the sword and smiled. "Alright." She stayed pace with him walking back into town. Back towards the inn they were staying at. "Leo, how much longer will we be here? At this place?" Her voice traveled as they did.

Movibg slower the closer they become. The lack of food and energy taking it's toll on her as she grabbed against him.

Leo caught her and picked her up once more, carrying her inside the inn and telling one of his men to get her some food, fast. Most of his men were eating lunch, except for the few men that kept watch.

"Don't worry, tomorrow is the last day before we will be out on the road." He told her with a smile, sitting her down at a table, standing next to her and hoping she wouldn't pass out.

Nodding, she set down on the table agaisnt the wall. Her head resting against the table. Sighing, she thanked the man that brought her the food. Eating it, she was better. The food taking to her well.

"Alright... I was just wondering." She nodded slowly, taking a sip of the drink thst was laid in front of her.

Leo sat across from her and watched her eat, not eating anything himself, at least not at the moment. He looked around the room, noticing his men enjoying themselves as always. The only thing he couldn't do, was give these men a home they could live in all the time.

Once she finished, he looked over at her, smiling. "Did you enjoy the meal?" He asked her, noticing the plate was completely empty now.

She watched him watch his men and spoke softly. "You take good care of them....
Don't worry about them." She smiled softly, nodding after she finished. Grabbing the cup softly, she finished it aswell.

"Yes... I did. It was really great. I cleaned it." Shrugging, she smiled softly. "Will you eat? I don't want you to go hungry because of me Leo..." Her voice trailed off as she finished.

Leo nodded and looked over at his men again. "I will, I just have to figure out something." He said to her and then slowly got up for a moment. "Wait here one second." He told her to stay and then went over to his lieutenant again.

All she could see was their lips moving, the chatter in the inn too loud to hear anything. Leo spoke to his second in command and told him that the prisoner is to be brought outside of the village, with at least ten men guarding him, and wait for the enemy to claim him. In return, Leo was going to be paid for his safety, and so the lieutenant nodded and gathered up some men and went to escort the prisoner.

Leo returned to the table with some food in his hands, setting the plate down and starting to eat. "See? I told you I'd eat." He said with a small smile.

Nodding as he left, her eyes trailed his movements. Landing on him and another man. She could t hear what they were saying, so she adventually turned her head. Now glancing out the window. The sun was beginning to set, she could see it
over the horizon.

"Good... I don't want you to pass out.. That's my job." Smiling, she stretched her hands above her head. "Thank you, again. For saving me and not enslaving me again.."

"No worries, it's what me and my band do." He told her as he took another bite and looked out the window, looking at the sunset as well. He then turned to look at her again.

"But being with us means you will have to learn to fight, everyone has to pull their weight." He told her and nodded a little bit.

"I know and if I don't you can get rid of me." She spoke softy, shrugging as the sun finally went down. Now hidden between the trees. "Im
going to try my best... I promise."

Nodding, she yawned. Her eyes traviling back to his. Smiling when they settled on his face. Handsome, she had realized for the first time.

Leo finished eating by the time the sun disappeared beyond the horizon. The candles inside the inn were all lit by now, making the place seem like it was daytime still.

"You don't have to promise me anything, and I would never toss a woman out into the wilderness or into the streets." He said, looking up and meeting her eyes, smiling and blushing a little bit. She was rather attractive, and there was no way he would toss her out of his group.

"Even if I don't add up to what your group needs?" Her voice trailed off, smiling softly. "Where will I sleep tonight?" Knowing that they were leaving tomorrow, would probably be the last time she got to sleep in a bed for a long time.

Yawning, she covered her mouth. Pulling her hair away from her eyes, she smiled softly as she saw him. "When are we leaving tomorrow?"

"Even then." He replied to her quickly. "With me, since we don't know if anyone else is after you, I'm your best protection." He said with a soft smile. He then noticed her yawn and turned to look out the window, noticing that the stars were out for the first time in over a week.

"We'll leave after lunch, my men still have to gather some supplies that should last us for the next week or two." He told her and looked back at her. "Is that alright with you?"

"That is true." She nodded in return. Her gaze falling to watch the stars. Smiling a little as she saw them. Tonight you could see them, extremely well. "This may sound horrible... But you really don't appreciate being able to see the stars until your not allowed too."

"and yes... That's fine. Though it's not my decision to make. I'm just a newbie. Remember?" Laughing softly, she spoke all the while looking out the window seeing the north star in the distance. The brightest one out there.

Leo chuckled and shook his head a little bit, looking out the window. "Everyone has a say in things here, and we all already agreed to leave tomorrow after a good lunch." He told her and then turned his gaze back to her.

"Come on, we better get some shuteye, you especially." He told her and slowly got up, waiting for her to get up before leading the way up to their room that they would be sharing.
