\MUMBLE/VOICE CHAT RULES & GUIDELINES

Blue Moon has its own dedicated voice chat server hosted by Vekseid himself. The Mumble client used can be downloaded from sourceforge.net. In the download, two programs will be available - the regular Mumble client along with a backward compatible Mumble 1.1. When setting things up, please use the regular client.

Information you will need to input in order to set things up for use:
Label: Name us whatever you want >_>
Address: elliquiy.net (with working ssl certificate, yay!)
Port: 64738 (default)
Username: Preferably whatever you use here.
Password: iamover18 (if you don't have the option, don't worry, it will ask you for it when you try to connect)

When you link to the server for the first time, you will need to register first and foremost. This can be done by going to Self -> Register. When this is done, an admin (namely darkangel76 or Vekseid) will have to then approve you. If either is not on the server, you can expedite the approval process by sending them a PM. Also, once on the server, you will notice a text box located on the left-hand side of the server’s window. Be sure to read it as the basic rules of the server are given there.

A few more details regarding Mumble and what you need to do, etc. can also be found here.

The Rules & Guidelines of Use:

01) You must be an approved member on either Elliquiy (meaning finished with the approval process and made a Lady, Lord or Liege) or BMR (meaning you have made AT LEAST 50 posts on the boards AND been a member for 4 week).

02) The rules of BOTH Elliquiy and BMR apply to Mumble. Be sure to be up on them as well as the rules written in this thread.

03) If you are banned from either Elliquiy or BMR (THIS ALSO GOES FOR TEMP BANS!!!), you will be automatically banned from Mumble. So, if you have accounts on both sites and one is banned, you will not be granted Mumble access.

04) If your username is different from the one you use on either Elliquiy or BMR, you must inform the admin as to who you are on the sites. Not doing so will result in not being granted use of the service.

05) In the general/open rooms, conversations and channel texts must be PG-13 in nature. If conversation becomes explicit or RP in nature, please take it to a temporary private user room and/or individual whisper text.

06) Every user on Mumble is allowed one private user room (though you may have as many sub-channels as you’d like within your private user room). Please follow the following format when creating one – [username] Title For Room. You are allowed to place passwords on your rooms, but it is required that you allow both channel texts and individual whisper texts regardless.

07) Please be respectful of the private user rooms. ‘Knocking’ before entering (ie, texting the channel or whispering the room creator or whoever may be currently in the room) and asking for permission to enter is often times a considerate thing to do.

08) If you do not have the password to a protected room, you must contact the room’s creator for the information. The room’s creator has the right to either distribute or deny as needed. Though, please be respectful if you deny or if you’re not granted the permission.

09) Do not distribute the password to a protected room that is not your own without express permission from the room’s creator.

10) Admin reserve the right to enter rooms and/or delete rooms as necessary. This will not be done without just cause, since we value members’ privacy and wouldn’t delete things without a very good reason.

11) Members who use Mumble are only allowed one account on the server. This is regardless of whether you are a member on both Elliquiy or BMR or just one of the sites. If you create an alternate account, please have a good reason for doing so (eg, something happened to your original device and you need to get a new certificate for entry onto the server) and note that the other account will be promptly deleted along with the private user room associated with it.

12) Please save a backup of your certificate in case of emergencies and/or in case you’d like to be able to connect via more than one device. This can be done by exporting the certificate to your computer and then saving the file on an external hard drive or flash drive. This will save you problems from having to create a new account and having the older one deleted, etc.

13) Like in the chat, privacy is something to be respected. That means, do not give out another's personal information or user room's password without their express permission.

14) Be respectful of others in general. Debates and arguments can happen. If they do, be aware of your surroundings and that the person on the other end is indeed a human being. It'll be an easier reminder of that using voice vs text since it'll be much more evident as to the emotional status of the users involved, however this is something that should be remembered regardless. That said, if disputes do occur, both parties involved (ie, the attacker and the attacked) are both held responsible for their actions. Rather than letting it get out of hand, either log out of Mumble for a while or seek assistance from an administrator (namely darkangel76 or Vekseid).

15) If you ever feel uncomfortable for any reason or if you just have a question, please do not hesitate to seek out administrative assistance.

16) Harassment, bullying, coercion, etc will NOT be tolerated on Mumble. Any reported incidents of such behavior will result in an official warning. If it continues, harsher actions (ie, temp ban from either Mumble and/or the site) will indeed occur.

17) Permanent private user rooms are no longer being used on Mumble.

**Please check back here often as updates will be added as needed.

In the meantime, please be aware that we are in the works of trying to figure out a way for those who are transgendered, etc. to have a safe place in which they can partake of the fun of Mumble. Presently, a room named the ‘Lieges Lounge’ has been made as a safe place for Lieges only (a subgroup on Elliquiy for those who are indeed transgendered, etc.) to converse. Please be respectful of this room and those who use it since their privacy is very important. Hopefully we can find a way to do something similar for those on BMR who fit Elliquiy’s Lieges subgroup and/or another subgroup perhaps unique to BMR who aren’t comfortable disclosing their gender for one reason or another. If anyone has suggestions, please PM darkangel76. Thanks.

RE: Mumble/Voice Chat Rules & Guidelines (updated 7/26/11)

Since this seems to really be the only issue anyone ever has:

When you register for Mumble, PLEASE export a saved copy of your certificate to your computer's hard drive and then save it externally. Your certificate upon registration is your individual password. The way things work is that the server itself has a password, but all those using said server have an identification tag or certificate that identifies them as approved and registered users. Without this certificate, you WILL NOT be able to use Mumble. Also, certificates are device specific. So, if you plan on using multiple devices, you'll need this saved copy to export to these other devices if you plan on using your account since multiple accounts are NOT allowed on Mumble. Doing this also serves as a back up in case something ever happens to your computer or whatever device you used when originally registering yourself on Mumble.

If you do not export a saved copy of your certificate, all is not lost. You will, however, need to contact admin as you will have no choice but to create a new username, etc etc for yourself. Your original username will be deleted and your new one will then stand. If you create a new one BEFORE your old one is deleted, you will not be allowed to use the name you originally created for yourself since Mumble won't allow that. If it's deleted before hand, you will be able to use the same username if you so choose since all information (certificate included) with it will indeed be removed.

I hope that this clarifies a few things and is helpful. If there are any questions, please direct them to either darkangel76 or Vekseid. Thank you.
