Several months after INGEN's second pull out from Isla Sorna ((don't kill me about misspelled names)) , a third team was sent in to recover more of the left behind research. Arriving by landing boats used by the U.S. Navy, they were left on the beach with all their supplies and essentials. The crystal blue waves lapped at the pearl white sand softly, the white surf spraying lightly up into the air. A hundred feet from the water, the tree line began. The tall, tropical plants huddled closely together with vines dripping down from their dozen-foot heights. Their target was a observation post set near the middle of the island, next to a command center named "Beta Ultra." The majority of the people in the expedition would stay behind and make a research base at the water's edge, while a small team of specialist would trek inland to gather the information required.

This is the story of that research team's mission and attempts at survival.

(( Kinda made it into a movie, oh well lol ))

Headphones blared bad techno music, easily blocking out the noise of the ships travels. He leaned against the railing of the ship. Dark brown hair was unkempt, or atleast fashioned to look that way, framing a slender masculine face that still possessed a boyish wonder and charm. Buddy Holly glasses almost magnified big dark brown eyes that pretty much looked black, and purt lips were pressed in such a manner that described discomfort. He hadn't shaved in days, and it showed. Mr. Redder wasn't cut out for life at sea, and he knew it when he changed from "Hell yea it'd be fun to ride a boat!" to "Ugh, why couldnt we fly...?"
The gross sounds of distant chunks hitting water came back to him, echoed by the exterior of the ship. A groan of despair escaped his throat as he leaned over the rail. He cursed Dr. Ian Malcolm and somehow wondered if his referral was a joke, after overhearing his relations with INGEN from the many conversations aboard the ship. He looked down to his clothes, and found out once again he had to change as bits of breakfast clung to it. Slightly irritated, he made his way to his quarters and changed into something a bit more appropriate, even though he despised "safari" gear, he was encouraged to bring it, and much to his dismay, he knew he needed it after finding out what he was really in for. After completely making himself look like a dork in his trekking gear, he gathered his essentials for the contract; everything he needed to be the IT guy, and then some.
With one last look he checked himself out in the mirror. With nerdlike satisfaction he couldn't help but find that he actually filled out his clothing and looked... Muscular. He dismissed the thought and quickly made his way to get off this damn boat.

There swift sounds of fabric against fabric could be noted as Tristan laid with his back against the floor of his cabin doing sets of complicated sit-ups in nothing but a pair of worn black jeans. Hands laced behind his head as he touched alternate elbows to opposite knees, his legs bending and extending without ever touching the ground. Beads of sweat began accumulating on his forehead and his shirtless body was now slick with perspiration as he finally collapsed against the floor. He let out a few heavy breaths then adroitly rolled his weight back to his shoulders and raised his legs allowing him to use his hands and the shift of gravity to springboard himself up to his feet. He landed like a gymnast with his arms out at his sides and laughed when he came to the realization, reaching over to his bed he picked up his white shirt and fiddled with it until it was right-side out. He had a taut physique, well toned chest muscles and deep valleys between his tightly packed abdominals but the shirt he slipped on was loose fitting and barely did anything for his athletic build. Tristan finished unrolling the lower hem of his shirt down his stomach and sighed in relief as the coolness of the fabric felt rejuvenating against his warm skin.

"It's time to gear up I guess.. we should be hitting the island soon"

The man spoke to himself as he buckled a large knife around his waist, the knife was holstered in a worn leather case that was snapped to a heavy leather belt by a series of metal buttons. Reaching down he grabbed the strap of a bulky duffel bag that he left sitting in the middle of the floor and slung it on over his body. Shouldering his bag he emerged from his cabin and briskly made his way on deck in a light jog. As the high sun beamed down on him his features were more noticeable, he had a deep island tan, short coal-black hair with pointed bangs that almost reached his electric blue eyes. He was broad shouldered and clean shaven, his face seemed to have an ageless quality, he could be well into his thirties and still look like he was maybe early twenties. Tristan gave a roguish grin as he stepped over to the balustrade of the ship, gripping the rail with two hands and leaning forward slightly he could see the familiar Island looming in the distance. Isla Sorna had a mystical presence, even in the distance one could see the lush green foliage that covered the terrain as the landscape of the island tapered up to a few mountainous peaks, flocks of birds silhouetted against the hard blue sky above the landmass and a nearly translucent mist rose from the water around the isle. There was another man on deck who seemed as if he wasn't enjoying the scenery nearly as much but when Tristan turned to introduce himself the man looked like he was already making his way back to his cabin so instead he just turned his sights back towards their fast approaching destination.

((ah shit, sorry I forgot that you mentioned we already made it to the island.))

It wasn't long before they reached the shores of the island, the people aboard the ship were already filing out and onto the beach. Tristan stretched his arms out above himself and quickly scurried back to his cabin to retrieve his pistol. He shouldered the door open and scanned the room, finding his small black Beretta sitting atop the nightstand. He quickly snatched it up, checked the clip and slapped it back into the gun before pushing it through the rim of his pants behind him. He covered the gun with his shirt and dropped his bag so he could throw oh his solid black ballistic vest. The vest was snug and probably unnecessary but Tristan wanted all the protection he could carry, re-shouldering his duffel bag the man raced back out of his cabin and down onto the shore with the others.

Jessica finally arrived at the beach with the others, she knew very well that this island had many dangers reason why they got her along. Looking at the island she sighed and shook her head, a bag on her back with all the first aid materials that she would need for this place. She also had some extra clothes in case something happened that she would need to use hers for a bandage or something. She was wearing a pair of very short pants, boots and a very tight shirt with a jacket over it. She needed to be light enough to travel with the heavy bag on her back.

She stretched her back as she looked up to the sky, "This place is wonderful, I cannot wait to see the docile dinosaurs because the dangerous ones I don't want to get near". She placed the bag on the floor and double checked the things that she had inside, bandages and a lot of string and needles in case she needed to put some stitches on somebody. With a smile she looked over at the rest and their weapons, somehow she wasn't sure that those weapons would be enough against a T rex. Taking a deep breath she noticed everything was in check and closed the bag and placed it on her back once again.

Katarine was a little late to crawl out the boat, her clothes more for a walk on the beach than to be any use on an island http://www.topclub.hu/files/szexlista/katerina/09/05.jpg. She had a handbag containing the essentials - and she instantly started to fish around for the lotion against the too much sun. Stroking it up on her white skin used to the laboratory lights, she felt really lucky that she could swim, being on an island - even if they did not needed to do it now.

Hoping that her manicure and pedicure would keep up with the islands flora and fauna, she started to walk to the cases with her name "Dr. PHD Katarine Young" and "Biological Danger" with the big biohazard signs. She just had to choose the first batch of the empty sampling vials, and maybe what would be the best anesthetic for the drug injector pistol. It was a nice hardware of the nonlethal kind, changable pressure, shooting out the preloaded poisoned darts from the clips. With the different loads she would be able to send a raptor to sleep, or just help with a local anesthesia on a human.

She then started to equip a leather harness, special sheats for the gun and its clips, pre-made spaces for the different vials, and there was even a sack of drinking water on her back. Some extra pockets for the bug and insect repellents, a digital camera, and of course a small selection of anti-venom. She knew there was a doctor somewhere with them, but it always paid off to be ready, even if she knew how to handle snakes and most of the frogs and toads. She was not a herpetologist for nothing.

Suns in the sky, winds in his hair, and... Coleman felt alive. There was a primitive beauty to all of this he found himself thinking. He approached the group, feeling a tad better on dry land. He too was geared to the max, a backpack of clothes and toiletries, a laptop, and a duffel back of various devices used mainly in his... Line of work. He saw Tristan, Jessica and the other doctor, Kat-something? He didn't really have a chance to introduce himself to any of them on the boatride as each of them had duties to take care of before arriving for work here on the island.

"The lost land, like the TV show." He mused as he steppe infront of everybody, his back to them as he took another look at the beautiful coast.

"Coleman." He smiled, turning to them with his hand out. "Not as important as you guys, but IT has to do something when you guys are busy."

He held his hand out a moment longer then casually used it to finger comb his hair.
"So do we wait for a ride or something? I don't see anyone headed to pick us up?" he turned to look once more to verify his statement.

(Anyone willing to be an antagonist and have Coleman as your pawn? Lotsa opportunities here I'm thinking.)

Katarine turned towards the guy too, happy that there was someone to start making with the friends and asking the unhappy questions. She stepped closer, still working on her harness to situate it better on her body.

"Hi everyone, I am Kate, I would be your lady with the knowledge on the non mammal animals here." she was not shaking his hand, but waved a little, then showed the cases with her name and the big three.tiered sign. "As you see, I have to gather some specimens, DNA, blood and semen from all the dinos, if we find even one. I ask you all not to touch any eggs or go near to the nests, even if they seem left alone. We could have enough problems with the species who are area protective, don't need the enraged females after us too."

She then proceeded to look over the others, looking at any sign of fear and bloodthirstyness. "Oh, and I think we have to walk to any of the buildings, as there are no one on the whole island I know of. Maybe there is a jeep or two that could work, as we need them to carry all the equipment to safety."

'Show stealer?' He had trouble figuring out if she was just brash or enjoyed cutting people off. He laughed it off as the thought was humorous to him. He became intrigued as she began her little demonstration.

"Semen?" He quipped, leaning forward for a closer look.
"And I'm curious as to the scientific method in which you obtain this?"

His enthusiasm began to wane as he listened. What exactly did he sign up for? As far as he knew he was just the IT guy. 'Should you encounter, do not...' rang in his head. He wasn't fit for the job if it included dinosaur hunting. He had to admit, he wanted to see a dinosaur but, he wanted to get paid just to monitor servers and fix easy computer problems for the computer illiterate, which with this crowd didn't seem like it would happen often. He started his mental profiling once again, Katarine seemed nice enough, and he hasn't heard a word from Jessica or Tristan, but he made a note of their apparent skillset, then... He heard something awful.

"We're the only ones here?" He was almost stunned. As everyone started to walk off he hurriedly caught up with them. "You mean we're the first ones here, right?"

Tristan took his first steps onto the beach, the familiar feeling of the white sand crunching underfoot brought a smile to his face. He inhaled once very deeply through his nose, his chest swelling large before he heaved a hardy sigh of satisfaction. The smell of sea creatures interrupted by salt mixed with water from the spray that wafted across the coastline, the crashing sound of waves ramming against the shore and the high frequency caws of the birds that swooped through the air above him all held a bit of sentimental value. He couldn't resist the urge to drop his duffel bag and throw his hands out allowing the ocean breeze to slam into him, the wind sent the fabric of his clothes twisting and snapping back behind him. This was his biggest reason for joining the military, the opportunity to see the many beauties of the world. He began to think about how he always strove for perfection back when he was in the service, Tristan never wanted anything to hinder his chances of traveling. Then he remembered the day he was shot, he thought he'd lost it all, he assumed his life was over. "But here I am" he thought, never did he imagine that he'd have another opportunity like the one he had back in the military. He felt a sudden boost of energy, he was developing that look in his eye, the look that everyone determined was his "I'm gonna take on the world" look and with that he was more than ready to get the show on the road.

He didn't want to dwell on the feelings of nostalgia any longer for fear one of his onlookers would peg him as some kind of weirdo. He imagined he would look pretty strange basking in the ambiance alone as some of the ship's crew was beginning to settle on the beach. He turned as he heard the nearby conversing of a couple of his associates. After hearing the two of them introduce themselves and their general concerns Tristan leaned in with his bag at his feet and grabbed one of Coleman's hands in his and his shoulder in the other then jerked him forward a bit as he shook his arm vigorously.

"Nice to meet you Coleman, Tristan Knight" he said releasing the man and raising a thumb to his own chest as if pointing out who he was.

He then turned towards Katrina and waved "It's nice to meet you too Katrina" he said with a smile. "I'd love to be the one to answer that question for you Coleman" he said as he turned back towards the IT guy "But I actually have no idea which of the two it is, my briefing on the situation was fairly short, all I really know is that I'm one of the crew's hired guns. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not here to do any Dino hunting as you can probably tell." He gave a twist with that statement, hiking up the bottom hems of his shirt and jacket he revealed the relatively small Beretta pistol tucked in his jeans and part of the heavy knife holstered on his belt. "The knife and gun are for more practical uses, engaging the dinosaurs here is suicide thus the idea here is to get in and get out with as little casualties as possible." Pulling his shirt back down he turned back towards the man and continued. "My job I was told, was to help guide my group safely to Beta Ultra and in order to do that we'll have travel low and light, attract as little attention as possible and by the very expected chance we do encounter a Rex our best option is to hide or run. But listen to me ramble on." he chuckled "Is this anyone's first time to the Island?"

(( Glad to see all you guys hitting it off ))

The little group of explorers suddenly fell silent as a distant roar tumbled out onto the coast. This was followed by a very subtle quake in the earth. They all looked up at the tree line and began to feel uneasy out in the open like they were. They all knew only something big could of made that sound, and the tremor only increased it's size tenfold.

Jogging up to the group, the expedition leader appeared behind them. Wearing tropical camouflage cargo pants, a red beret, and a sweat-stained tank top, he whistled to get everyones attention. "Listen, ladies and gentlemen, we have a limited time here before everything on the island and beyond know we are here. We hope to have the settlement up and running by the time you return. Docs, scientists, may God watch over all of you." He saluted you all before turning away and yelling at a group of construction workers, hurrying them. A couple of guides, wearing the same as the leader with out berets, walked up with M16's held loosely in their hands. "We will be here to guide ya to the facility, so gather ya gear and meet up at the forest when y'all are ready." One of them said, turning away and walking to the forest line, chatting with the other guard.

Jessica grinned as she saw the people introducing themselves and then to the guy that seemed to be the leader of all of this. Taking her bag she grinned and nodded at the group, "My name is Jessica, I am a emergency trauma doctor and I would be your doctor in case all of you need me. I am here to see dinosaurs as I love them so I tagged along as well". She smirked and bowed her head gently as she took her bag and placed it over her shoulder.

She studied each one of them, each one had their advantage and their weakness depending on their area of expertise, she was glad at least that she was not the only one with medical knowledge in this place, that would make things easier in case somebody gets injured and she is busy. Smiling she took a deep breath as she began to walk to the entrance of the forest, knowing that most likely she should be the last person because of her knowledge on medicine did not faced her.

Katarine joined up with the redheaded doctor. "I love them too! It is such a pity that they wanted to try showing them off in a badly constructed amusement park with a staff of moneycraving men..." she then stopped talking and started walking.

Looking back and seeing that the leftover equipment seemed to be in good hands on the shore, she proceeded to give their doctor the update on possible poisonous plants, insects and bugs, but she really get to babble when she reached the various amphibians and cold blooded dangerous vertebrates... She was clearly excited but a little anxious. Their fearless leader macho guy seemed all right, but the little IT guy gave her the heeby-jeebes.

This was why she tried to find somebody with similar interests and job that she had... and in the process Katarine was just starting to overuse her welcome, even if she lovered her voice when they reached the trees. Still, she was a blabbermouth, maybe when she finally reached the end of her topic about which antipoison to use with wich creature, she would stop... But just to pull something out from one pocket.

"Here, doc, use some bug repellent cream, or you would have to treat yourself first, for I dont think the boys would ask for anything until the first nausea attack... It is all natural plants, so the dinos won't be coming to lick it down... well, the flesh eaters won't..." she giggled.

((I will be away from Net in the next six days. Will be back on next monday for sure.))

She shook her head at the woman and smirked, "Don't worry I have some on, it's odorless but yes I have one in my skin right now". She giggled and looked around as the girl continued to give Jessy the updates on plants and creatures that could become a problem. Once she was done Jessy started to give her some first aid steps for emergency cases in case they were separated and something happens. Once she was done she sighed looking back at the guys and smirking "However we need them as a muscle, otherwise we will be eaten alive in here I think so go tell them about the bug spray".

Before Tristan could have his question answered a monstrous call erupted from the jungle that set back from the beach. "hm, it sounds like the king has entered the building" he shook his head and laughed grimly, it's not like he hadn't heard the sound before but he could never get used to it. That noise lanced through his body with a sharpness that left him almost completely numb. As he turned he could see a cluster of small birds rise into the air like a hundred tiny black dots that quickly broke away and scattered to the other parts of the island. Heralded by the sounds of heavy footfalls against the yielding sand Tristan picked up on the man swiftly approaching from behind. He heard the expedition leader whistle and give the group a short run down of what the current situation was. Needless to say Tristan didn't like the way things were shaping up already, they'd arrived in such a big group that he feared they might be too big of a target to spot for the larger predators and the men approaching him brandished powerful rifles that would give away their position when fired. Not to mention the sound they just heard was probably that of a T-rex which means with him on the hunt smaller dinosaurs like raptors and allosaurus' would be scattering across the island to avoid him thus increasing the risk of their group running into a dangerous predator along the way.

"shit! I'd rather take my chances cutting straight across the Rex's path" he thought. Tristan snatched his bag by the strap and hefted it up over his shoulder then started advancing towards the trees where the two guides were heading. On his way he passed two women, both were either doctors or scientists and he overheard a bit of their conversation.

"Ha! With all of the giant flesh eaters out here I never once stopped to consider the plants or insects as possible threats, do you mind if I share some of that repellent? Besides If that stuff is made from all natural plants like you say it is then the scent will help mask our natural smell so we can better blend with our surroundings and keep the predators from sniffing us out."

The two guides waited for the group to catch up, lighting up smokes and blowing white-gray rings into the air. They had heard the bellow and just shrugged, making sure their weapons were off safety and loaded. Both were loaded with AP bullets, knowing how tough a dinosaurs hide was. As the group finally gathered up, they started out into the brush, one hacking a way through the brush with a machete. "We will travel as long and far as we can before making camp, the quicker we do this little quest the better." The higher ranking guide called down to the group. "Keep together, if you get lost, your fucked. We aren't going to look for you little techies if you decide to take a poke at the plants around here, or each other." He laughed rancorously. "We will take scheduled stops along the way, rest then." He continued forward, watching the tree line with the relaxed attentiveness of a veteran.

Katerine eyes got really big hearing the roar of the dinosaur. Her face lit up with excitement, and started looking around for the others reaction, before she started babbling about how they was supposedly making themselves a smaller target. She could only sigh and share her ointment with the man.

"I think that we could fear some of the plants poking us too. Or not fear, as we are supposedly much bigger than anything they can kill in one attack, and maybe we have enough stuff to counteract their poisons... I just hope there is no real dangerous prehistoric plants appearing... For some of the insects seem to get real changes from all the dinos being here..."

Still, she hoped that their guides would stop smoking and shouting, for even if they shot an attacking animal, and their modern weapons could kill the biggest of them, there was no way except a grouping of head shots to stop them before munching or trampling one of the people. Killing one did not stop its weight moving either, so she would try to avoid being a target or near any attacker if any.

Tristan accepted the repellant Katerine offered and continued the conversation.

"yes, this Island is far from normal so it wouldn't surprise me if some of the insects or flora wound up being just as or if not more dangerous than the dinosaurs."

Tristan stopped for a moment, peeled off his jacket and bag then sprayed some of the clear fluid onto most of his skin. He set the bottle down and worked the contents around his arms and neck with both hands. He breathed a sigh of relief and scooped the bottle back up before handing it back over to Katerine. He threw his jacket back on and retrieved his bag from the ground once again strapping it around a shoulder.

"Thanks I really appreciate that, I think I'll hang back with you guys for the majority of this trek. With those guides leading the group at the front it might pay to have a scout or two guarding the rear. Normally when hunting parties stalk a group of prey they dont often attack the head of the group, with us moving around in a straight line formation it's most likely that the predators will try to pick off the stragglers in the back. One by one until the rest of the group realizes what's going on and at that point it's an all out frenzy until everyone's a meal."

He ended the conversation as they reached the two guides near the trees and all of them set off into the jungle terrain. Tristan lingered back until everyone filed in then follwed up from the very back of the group but made sure that the two guides in front were still visible. Inside the jungle tristan was quickly reminded of how uncomfortable the atmosphere was. The humid air was stifling and he quickly began to feel blanketed by it. A few beads of sweat swiftly accumulated on his brow and he rolled his jacket backwards down his shoulders exposing his neck and chest without fully taking it off. Though he seemed like he wasn't, Tristan was very much so attentive to their surroundings, his eyes constantly darted towards the sounds of every cracking branch or bird call along the way and made sure to recognize any and all possible escape routes should they find themselves under attack.

Jessica sighed as she looked over at them and smirked, “I will follow behind”. She giggled more to herself as she looked around at the forest and the beautiful plants and small creatures that were around her. She knew most of these plants since she studied botanical science as well and knew wich one of these plants were used for medicine and wich were used for poison. She studied all of the members of the team she was in, there were so macho man but she was worried more for the female at the moment. Only a few females could know what to do in a moment where stress is a factor for your life.

She looked around at a forest she was never in and it was full of powerful creatures that would not hesitate to kill all of them with a bite. The only creature she would truly fear if she ever came into contact with it was the T- Rex. Looking at the other female she sighed and looked at the guide, “This place is amazing, so much beautiful plants and fauna in general”. She knelt down and took a small flower and continued walking behind the guide, smiling she smelled the plant and hummed to herself as she walked around. She was used to walking around forest and places like this, she often got lost in all the fauna and beautiful plants. It was good that at least they had a guide, for now it would be best to follow them.

The group worked their way steadily through the forest, stopping every few hours to rest for a few minutes. By the end of the day, with the sun setting on the horizon, the guides called a stop for the night near a clearing with a small stream flowing through the edge. The guides unlimbered their packs and set up their tents, lighting some lanterns along the edges of the camp. "Alright you folks," the guide leader started, "This is the camp, we will rest here for the night and start again in the morning. Go ahead and amuse yourselves the ways you see fit, just don't wander too far." He lit another smoke and blew out the smoke through his nose, making his head wreathed in the vapor for a moment. "Don't do anything stupid." With this last warning, he walked back to where the other guide had pulled out a small table. They began to play cards with their rifles leaning against the tables, ready for instant use.

Katerine walked around their campsite, looking for tracks or dangerous flora and fauna, but found it habitable. Turning towards their escorts, she calmly told them "Please refrain from shouting, and do dig up a latrine for us." then as she tried to not speak loudly but still be heard by all of the people there "And I hope you all would use the hole for hovever small or big your need is, scraping dirt on the layer of it. Please keep in mind that however bad the most animals eyesight is, their sense of smell are way better than ours."

Then she started to look after any baggage she had, swearing in whisper when thinking about how they would need to go back to the shore for the boxes when they finally found a working jeep and a secure location to really set up. However greatly she wanted to see, touch and experience any kind of reptiles, she still wanted to live through the meeting.

Tristan had already found a small area behind some trees to change clothes. When he emerged with his duffel bag around one shoulder he was wearing a white sleeveless undershirt and loose khaki shorts. As he walked back towards camp he was re-buckling the large hunting knife around his waist, the belt he wore was different, this one had an attached holster for his gun too. Tristan tossed his bag near the base of a bowed tree and plopped down with his back against the jagged trunk. He stretched for a second, formidable muscles expanding before he folded both arms behind his head and lapsed into a light slumber.
