Timothy Adams sat back in his first class seat. He sighed. It was uncomfortable. Why did they even let this old plane fly? It was what, ten years old? His father had a new plane every few years at the latest. This plane only had one tv for the first class area. That was unacceptable. He even had to use the cheap airline headphones to listen to the movie. The meal was half decent, but still nowhere near as good as he'd had before. He would have to have a serious talk with his father when he got home. He would never fly with that particular airline again.

The plane was crossing the pacific. On its way from Indonesia to North America. Timothy was heading home from a vacation. It had been a lot of fun, but he was excited to get back home to the comfort of his mansion. On the plane was a wide variety of people. There were a few that had been on a hunting trip, and a couple of military people returning from being stationed at a base in Asia. Other people were heading to visit North America, while some tourists were returning home. All of them had no idea what was about to happen to them.

The plane had been forced to change course and take a longer route to avoid a storm. However, it had been unable to avoid it. The unprdeictable weather hit them anyway. The storm messed with the instruments and made it impossible for any towers to locate it. They lost radio contact and the plane was flying blind. The pilot told everyone to buckle up and prepare for turbulence. Then the engines lost power.

The large plane was gliding without instruments functioning properly and without the help of any towers. No one knew where they were or what was happening. Even worse, the plane was quickly losing altitude. Suddenly one of the engines roared back to life. It was unexpected. It cause the plane to pitch and start a roll, something it wasn't designed to do. A moment later they were plummeting toward the ground at a high speed. The pilot tried to regain control, and tried to call for help. They emerged from the clouds and saw water rushing up toward them. The pilot got enough control to pull the plane into a more horizontal position. Thirty seconds later they hit the water, right off the shore of some small islands. It broke apart on impact, sending the front half of the plane into the beach and the tail end just off the beach, in the water. Luggage and scrap metal covered the beach. Bodies floated in the water and lay motionless in the sand.

Timothy woke an hour later, still strapped into his seat. He slowly unbuckled himself and was amazed. He seemed to be in perfect condition. He had a few scratches and bruises, but somehow his position in the plane had been perfect. He wasn't majorly hurt. He wondered if anyone else had been that lucky. He slowly got up, his head aching a little. Clearly something had hit him in the head and knocked him out. Other than that he was fine.

All around him he saw death and destruction. It was horrible. The remains of an engine was burning on the beach. Bodies were broken and charred. It worried him. He couldn't be the only survivor, there had to be someone else. He started searching for anyone that might be alive.

Lillian Hart, was just a small town girl from upstate New York. Her family were farmers and she the thing she knew best was a days hard work. For being a farm girl though she was very pretty, she didn't look as though the years hard labor had worn her. Even her hands remain silky soft.

Lily sat in coach talking with local people that were coming to North America for the first time. She was returning home though as she was on a trip learning about agriculture in other regions and Indonesia was her last stop before she heading home with all the knowledge she learned. For her the plane ride was pleasant until the something seemed horribly wrong.

At one point Lily had bump her head, she was out for a few moments but awoke in time to feel the plane hit the sand. At first she was shocked but then quickly realized she had to find others. She combed the beach looking for survivors, but it seemed hopeless. All she found were bodies, on the beach, in the plane, in the water. She herself was injured pretty good, she had a cut on her head, and on her leg, but that didn't slow her. She had to find just one person.

Timothy walked slowly through the wreckage. He was tired of shaking bodies only to find they didn't respond. He also hated the sight of limbs not attached to their bodies. He saw a lot of boxes and bags that could contain useful items. He would need to check them later. Now he needed to find other survivors. He couldn't stand the idea of living alone on the island.

He had searched the entire area of wreckage from the front half of the plane. He started over to where the back half had ended up. He thought he could see some movement. That was good. He started moving faster to see if it was because of someone being alive. When he was almost there he spotted the girl. He called out and ran over to her.

When he got up to her he noticed she was bleeding. He frowned. The last thing he needed was the only other survivor dying of blood loss. That could wait a minute though. He smiled. "Oh thank goodness. I thought I might be the only one left alive. I was scared. How are you doing? Have you found any other survivors? There is no one left alive over at the front half." He made himself stop talking and took a deep breath. Once he was calmer he looked around. The scene at the tail wreckage was the same as it was at the nose. They were probably the only two left alive.

Aurora stumbled through the wreckage, She found body after body. She was starting to think she was a lone on this island. Then she heard it a mans voice. At first she it didn't quite registrar in her ears then she saw him. She looked at him for a long moment. "everyone is dead here too." she said softly. Her eyes closed a moment. "we have to get them off this beach no telling what wild animals might be on this island, and might to come looking for a meal." she didn't even realize her injuries still.

Timothy nodded and frowned as she said there were no survivors around the tail either. It was quite depressing. She suggested getting the bodies off the beach. He looked around, there were a number of people. So many to move. He shook his head. "I think that is too much work. Our best option is to move somewhere else away from here and then just take what we need from here over to where we go. If we move all the bodies we will get covered in blood and then the animals could come after us too. But the first thing we should do is get you bandaged. I don't want you dying on me too. Then I'd be stranded here alone."

He turned away from her and started looking for anything they could use as a bandage. A first aid kit would be perfect, but he figured it would take a fair bit of searching to locate those. Searching was not what he wanted to do right then either. He wanted to get away from the bodies and let the animals do their thing. He doubted there were any major predators or carnivorous animals on the island, it was probably too small to sustain a population of them. At least he hoped so. He wanted to avoid getting eaten.

Lily didn't bit her lip a moment, thinking that maybe he was crazy why did she need to be bandaged up, but then as she wrinkled her forehead she felt the sting of the cut on her head. She put a hand up to her head and felt the blood on her fingers. She tried to shake it off though knowing there was much more important things to do. "its ok don't worry about lets start moving some of this stuff to another location, we should take as much as we can, we don't know what we will need to make shelter for tonight."

Timothy watched as the other survivor checked herself and finally found her cut. She didn't seem too worried though. She suggested moving some of the stuff. He shrugged. At least that would be useful, and better than moving bodies. She seemed to be on top of things fairly well, or she at least had a number of ideas. He nodded and started to drag some bags over toward a clear part of beach by the trees. He carried a fair bit, but not quite as much as he probably could have. He wasn't about to exhaust himself. Eventually he found a first aid kit. He took it over to his fellow survivor and handed it to her. "Here, deal with your cuts before you do any more. Please."

Lily worked hard, there was no question in that. In the time it took him to move one load she had moved too. She looked for pieces of plane that might be useful making a shelter, She looked for blankets, some airline pillows. Anything really to help them get through the first night. She shocked to see him bring a first aid kit to her. "thanks" she said as she took it and bandaged the cut on her head. it didn't take her long and she was right back moving supplies.

Timothy was glad to see the girl whose name he still did not know, bandage her head. When he was sure she would be ok he went back to moving stuff. He got a few more bags over to their now fairly substantial pile. That was when his stomach decided to growl at him. He looked up at the sky and the sun was starting to dip. It was getting later. They still had a number of hours of light with which they could make some sort of shelter, but it was about time to eat something. He went off in search of the section of plane that the stwardesses prepared the food. He eventually found it and spotted some intact food. With a grin he grabbed as much as he could that was salvagable and carried it over to their collection of items. Then he sat and started to eat. He didn't bother letting the girl know. She'd be over there soon enough and would see the food.

She moved all she could before stopping a moment to catch her breath. The sun was so much hotter here than it was back home. It took a lot more out of her. As she stood her mind raced, she realized that her family might think her dead. She also thought that she might never see them again depending on if the search party would head to this direction. She drew a deep breath and tried to push all of those thoughts from her mind. She couldn't think that now, now she had to build a shelter to survive the night.

When Timothy finished eating he got up and carried some food over to the girl. He didn't know her name yet, he should probably fix that. He spotted her and moved quickly. He handed her some of the food and then looked at the pile of luggage. "You should probably stop and eat. I think we have enough of the stuff for now. We can get the rest tomorrow. It seems to be above the high tide line. It should be fine. So, I don't know your name yet. I am Timothy." He held out his hand politely. He noticed the sun starting to dip toward the horrizon. They would probably need shelter soon. They had time, but it could take a while to build even a crude shelter for one evening.

Lily began to fuss with some the things. Sorting into piles. She first started with supplies and then she broke the supplies down into small piles. Piles of clothes and blankets and other comforts. Then she went to the other started to look at items that could be used for making a shelter. She was pulled away from her task when he came up to her. "I'm Lillian, but everyone calls me Lily." She took the food and smiled softly. "thank you Timothy."

Timothy looked and noticed that Lily was already sorting things. He let her eat while he went and spotted some things that looked like a good cover for the night. He grabbed a couple of pieces of metal and set them up in a way that would protect from the elements while sleeping. He shrugged. It had taken him only a minute and he had something for the night. It would definitely be good enough. He could worry about a proper shelter in the morning, but even that would probably not be the greatest thing ever. He left it there and decided to just sit and relax. He didn't really feel like sorting items. It could all wait. They were stuck on a deserted island. They were not going anywhere and neither was the stuff.

Lily only ate a little then she was right back to work. She couldn't even sit still a moment. She went back to sorting things looking at the sky every now and again guess about what time it was. After she was done she went stood up a moment looking at timothy who had made himself comfortable. "I am going to head back to the wreckage to see if by any chance there is like a cell phone or radio we can use to call for help" She began walking away

Timothy looked up as he heard Lily say she was searching for a radio or phone. He chuckled to himself and laid back. He found it highly unlikely that she would find something that worked. Their only hope was a satellite phone. Any normal phone would probably not have reception. The radios had probably been destroyed in the crash. If she could find a sattelite phone that was not destroyed then they could call someone, but he doubted it very much. He wouldn't waste his energy searching for something that didn't exist. He sighed. Lily really needed to be realistic. She needed to just take it easy and do things at a slower pace. She would kill herself working that hard.

as she walked back the wreckage she knew he was not going to be much help in this place. He probably doubted that there was a satellite phone or radio still working, but she had to try. She couldn't just sit here and take it easy like they were on vacation. LIly was gone for hours it was almost night when she returned. When she did she had 3 satellite phones that didn't seem to be broken but they were wet she hopped if they were to try out they would work.

Timothy relaxed for a while before finally getting up and casually picking through some luggage. He didn't sort things, he just dug through it all. He didn't really find anything of interest, but made a mental note of some bags that seemed to carry useful stuff. He also found some clothes that would fit him well. They would come in handy as well. He eventually heard Lily return and he got up. He saw he three phones she had with her. He was impressed until he saw the state they were in. He held back a laugh before making a comment. "Uh, I don't think those will work. Not if they have been wet for this long. Everyone knows that electronic things break when wet. None of those look water-proof. The only way they could have been saved was if the batteries were taken out right after they got wet. At this point the water has been in there too long to save them. Maybe you can get lucky if you take out the batteries and dry them for a couple of weeks. Long enough to make sure every molecule of water is gone. Even then, you chances are slim." He shrugged and turned away, walking back to his crude shelter, ready to get some sleep.

Lily set down the cell phones and looked at Timothy. "Of course I am not expecting much, not out of these cell phones and not out of you. I mean you think i am that stupid, but we have to try something. Oh wait i forgot your treating this like its some vacation." She was pissed the way he was talking to her like she was so simple minded girl. She wanted to get home she didn't want to die on this island. She walked away from him. grabbing a few blankets and walking further down the beach.

Timothy was not bothered by Lily's comments about him. He chuckled and shook his head. He watched her walking away. He called after her. "At least I am not going to over work myself and die. You need to calm down and focus on the basics." He laughed to himself and went to grab a blanket. He crawled into his crude shelter and settled down for the night. It wasn't too comfortable, but he didn't care. He could make it a night without something decent. In the morning he could build himself a better shelter. There were so many things from the plane crash that he was sure he could make a comfortable bed for himself. It wouldn't be too hard.

Lily grumbled away from him. She hated lazy people and if anyone was going to die it was going to be him. She looked at the sky and did not see any rain clouds forming she knew she could sleep with out a shelter tonight. She made her bed and fell a sleep. She slept ok the gently waves of the ocean helping her sleep.

When the sun rose Lily was up and already working on a shelter for herself. There was no way in hell she was sharing with him. She also knew she could build a pretty steady shelter without his help. She was working for hours before he even woke up.

In the morning Timothy woke up and found some food for breakfast. His first goal was walking along the beach until he found a stream. He followed it inland until he reached a pond. He bathed in it, getting himself clean. There was no reason to feel dirty. He dressed again and returned to his little shelter. He took it apart and started planning what to do next. He went over to the plane wreckage and gathered all the remaining bags. Taking them to the pile. He also got everything else that could be useful for shelter or survival. He went at a slow pace. He didn't want to over exert himself. By lunch time he had everything of use moved to everything else. He ate a meal and then worked on his new shelter. He found a good set of trees and started using them as a base for the shelter. He used metal from the plane and wood from the trees all around.

By lunch time Lily was almost done. Her shelter had used plane wreckage piece and sat under a tree. She move a little further in case of high tides and storms she didn't want her shelter to be destroyed. She stopped a moment and looked at. It was a pretty nice shelter, roomy enough so she can bring of the items inside, and still have room to sleep and move around. It even had a door.

She began to wonder what his was looking like she wondered down to where he. She giggled when she saw it. "You know thats never going to last. a good wind is going to take that away"

Timothy was half finished his shelter when Lily arrived to mock it. He ignored her and continued putting pieces together. He was quite confident in his shelter. He was using a number of sturdy trees as a frame for it. As long as the trees stayed in place, his shelter would be fine. He eventually put the last few pieces in palce and stood back, looking at it. He was proud of himself. It had been easy and it turned out well. He didn't even bother going to look at Lily's shelter. He assumed she had worked hard on it to make it look all fancy and artsy. That wasn't important. It just needed to block wind, rain, and sun. His next goal was to create fire. He started searching through bags for just one item and one item only. He dug through a number of bags until he had produced a lighter. He grinned and took it back to his shelter in triumph. He casually put together some wood and as the day wore on he had fire. He figured it had been a relatively productive day, and he hadn't even broken a sweat. Even though there were a number of daylight hours remaining, he decided not to do much. He ate dinner and then slowly looked through the piles of luggage until he found his own two bags, which were slightly damaged. He carried them to his shelter and then spent the evening relaxing. He knew that some of his stuff would be ruined, but he didn't care. He had some of his own clothes and a few other items he wanted.

Lily sighed and moved back to the her shelter. She kept wondering why she had to be trapped in this place with him. She gathered enough fire wood to last through the night and began to make a pretty nice fire for herself. It would keep her warm from the night air. She had many times before had made a fire without a lighter and she knew this would be no different for her.

Timothy's second night on the island was much better than the first. He had a better shelter, fire, and his things. He put together a pile of soft items from various bags and made himself a bed. He settled in for the night, letting his fire burn out. He didn't need to worry about it. He had a lighter. He laid in bed for an hour, relaxing and getting comfortable. Watching the sun set on the horizon was quite nice. As the sky got dark he drifted off to sleep. That night he had some very strange dreams. They were all bad things. His shelter collapsing, all his things catching fire, as well as a mixture of other dangers. Yet his last dream of the night depicted him and Lily together, surviving quite well.
