Tena sighed as she looked out from the second story window her shoulder length light brown hair blowing in the wind as her brown eyes looked over the wonderful things outside her window. It was her room window with a wonderful view of the garden in the backyard. The garden was tended by what she liked to think of as a wonderful man. To her this was a man who could do anything. Tena lived alone in the big house with her father, Ken, who kept her almost locked away from everyone.

Ken hide Tena from the world because one touch from her skin would kill anything and well he did not want that to happen but he did not want to loose his daughter. Ken tried his best to keep her from everyone not letting them know about her deathly ability.

Tena did everything possible to leave the cage of a house to go out to the garden but every time she touched the rose's that she loved so much they would wilt and die. It happened every night when she went out alone then when the roses were brown and dead on the ground she would leave in tears.

One day well her father was out of the house at work Tena took this opportunity to go out and view the garden closer in the day time. as she was out there she saw a hurt bird so with out even thinking she went over to it to help the bird but as soon as she picked it up with her bare hands since she forgot to put on her gloves the bird died bringing the girl to tears.

Conrad worked the garden at the large manor with care and loving pride. He had seen the girl in the window for many years watching him working in the garden and even at times coming out to see the flowers. He couldn’t explain why it seemed his roses died when she did but he was quickly able to get them to bloom again. He just seemed to have a gift with things that grew.

Often his mind would turn to the girl in the manor and wonder why she always seemed to be inside. He had spoken to her father Ken about it, and Ken had merely said that his daughter was ill and needed a constant environment or she would get very sick. Conrad had accepted this since every time the girl came out to the garden she ran back inside before long, her body seeming to be wracked by coughs, little did he know that she was really crying.

Conrad was out in the garden this morning, his light brown hair streaked with bright copper was blowing lightly in the breeze. He had his shirt off as he often did as he was tilling the soil below the plants keeping the weeds that cropped up turned down inside the soil to feed the other plants growth. His ice blue eyes were intent on his job, totally missing that scene with the bird or that she was even out in the garden. He did however hear her crying and turned to look. Concern crossed his face as he could see that she was crying, he came over to her, “Miss is there something wrong?”

Tena looked up at the kind voice and saw the man before her that she often watched as he worked hard on making a beautiful garden. She then looked down to the small dead bird and said between sobes "Im sorry... i didn't mean to... im sorry" She was so upset that she could not even really explain what happened. She just wanted to help the bird she did not even think about the fact she forgot about her gloves.

Tena was not letting go of the poor dead bird she just wanted to help him fly again but she killed him instead and it hurt her so much that she just stared at the poor bird dead in her cold white hands.

Conrad smiled as he came over to her seeing the poor bird in her hands and sighed softly. “Its ok it happens its not your fault.” He thought for a moment and went back to his gardening kit taking a small shovel from it and coming back over to her. “Come let’s give the little guy a good funeral, we will make him part of the garden for years to come so that everyone can see what he might have been.” He smiled trying to brighten her spirits a little as eh led her back into a more privet part of the garden surrounded by rose bushes, “What do you think will this do?”

((Welcome back ^^))

Tena new it was all her fault she new the truth but she new better then to tell others about it she she tried her best to stop crying as she stood up and carried the bird to where Conrad brought her. She smiled as she looked at the roses. They were her favorite and she was happy to see them all alive again. She looked around and then knelt down where she thought the bird should be berried and it was right with the rose bush she always went to and always seemed to kill though Conrad did not know it was all her doing. "Here is a good spot." She said softly.

Conrad smiled and knelt down pulling out two small hand shovels and held one out to her as he knelt down starting to dig a hole in the ground near a bush. his hands were gloved so nothing was showing since he had been working on clearing out some nettles. He kept digging slowly waiting for her to join him knowing that the hole didn't have to be that deep but still wanting to make her feel better even if she still looked a little depressed.

Tena took the small Shovel she was happy that Conrad was wearing gloves since she was not wearing hers so when there hands touched nothing bad happened. She then started to help dig a hole for the small dead bird. Once it was done she softly put it into the hole. she hated that she killed the poor things when all she wanted to do was help it get better. She never got to help anything she hated that she always killed everything she touched.

He watched her as they dug and then buried the poor little bird. There was something in her eyes that worried him something that spoke of a deeper sadness that had nothing to do with the bird. After the deed was done he leaned back against a tree that was nearby. "Is something troubling my dear? You seem like something has got you very depressed and worried about it."

Tena sat with Conrad though she said nothing as they sat there she just thought about what she had done and what her father was going to do when he found out. Her and her dad were always fighting. Ken hated when Tena went outside because she was so dangerous so when she went out she got yelled at by her father. She looked up at Conrad when he spoke then sighed sadly and said "Its nothing." she said knowing this was not something she could talk about with someone.

Conrad looked at Tena and could tell that there was more to this then she was willing to say. He reached over and lightly brushed her hair back from her face catching one of her tears with his thumb. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you were out. I know your dad doesn't like you to come out for some reason, but you can come out here to the garden and join me any time you would like." He smiled sweetly his gloved hand still on her cheek.

Tena smiled as his gloved hand ran over her cheek and wiped a tear away. She was never close to anyone her own father would not even touch her even if he had gloves on so this comforting jester was very nice to her and made her relax. "Thank you. ill keep that in mind though i would only be able to come out when father is at work." She said then looked to the flowers.

He smiled again and then stood to start working on some of the flower bushes. "Well then it will just be our little secret." He began slowly tending the bushes humming softly almost forgetting that she was there so engrossed in his work. He pruned slowly at the bushes cleaning them taking off bits and pieces of them here and there. He sighed as he came to one rose that stood out from the rest and he just looked at it for the longest time. Finally he took out his clippers and snipped the long stem from the bush letting the flower fall to the ground separated from the bush, it was truly the most beautiful rose on the whole bush and it seemed horrible to destroy it like that.
