Melissa stood in the middle of a dimly-lit room, her dark blue eyes flickering over every moving body dancing to the music around her. A techno-beat caught up with her as she grasped the plastic red cup in her hand, the alcoholic beverage swishing around in the nearly empty cup. Kevin, no more than a stranger from her English class, was grinding up against her body in rhythm with the music as Mel took a fragile sip of the drink before wrapping an arm around his neck. Her eyes closed and she let the music take her away.

Melissa “Mel” Hawley was no more than an ordinary student at a rather lackluster college. She was focusing on getting her degree in Business and wasn’t much of the party girl. Yet, after her recent breakup with Jason, her abusive boyfriend, she’d taken a liking to over-capacitated sweaty rooms with strangers and alcohol and subpar music. Her pale body, which was lightly glazed over with freckles, stood out slightly in the dark room. She was short, standing at a mere 5’3”. A soft, less-than-sober giggle escaped her lips as she opened her eyes, letting go of Kevin before downing the rest of her drink. “I’ll be right back,” her innocent voice whispered to him before turning to walk through the sweaty crowd. Her naturally dark crimson hair flowed in waves down to the middle of her back, her bangs swept to the side and rested on her cheek. A gentle blush of black eyeliner defined her blue eyes but that was all of the makeup she ever wore. Cladding her body was a simple pair of dark jeans that hugged her thighs before loosening at her feet, showing off her new pair of strappy wedge sandals. A black shirt clung to her curvy frame, the long sleeves reaching down to her knuckles and one side of her neck line slouching off of her shoulder. She wasn’t what most people would call skinny, but she was far from fat as well, her weight resting at a decent 125 pounds. With her height, she was very lucky a lot of the weight was in her breasts, her shirt showing off her c-sized chest.

Finally reaching the bar, she set down her red cup and smiled up at the guy handing out drinks. “Beer,” she muttered to him, and he smiled back before grabbing her cup to refill it. That’s when she felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned to see who was touching her. “Tyler, hey!” She exclaimed to the boy whom she wasn’t all too close with. They shared a few common classes. This year she sat next to him in math and behind him in English. Grabbing the beer from the counter, she gave Tyler a kind smile.

"Hi there, Melissa." Tyler beamed, "Couldn't help but notice your radiance enter this dark room." The male sniggered, pulling up a stool next to the girl. It didn't seem like she had any men hanging on to her at the moment, and thought as though this may be the perfect chance to start 'something'. Tyler pointed to Melissa's drink and gave a slight nod to the bartender. He wasn't so big with beer as he was with cocktails though didn't want to look like a pansy in front of the girl he most yearned for - though she'd never know, not until tonight at least.

"So..." The man said, sticking the tip of his bottle in his lips and taking a swig, "What? Your boyfriend drag you here or something?" Tyler smiled, "I never took you for the stereotypical 'partygoer', Mel." He winked, unsure to why she had been here, though nonetheless sought a chance to extinguish the fire of his passion tonight with the girl's supple, voluptuous, and shapely body. Tyler couldn't help himself from ogling her bottom in those tight jeans, like restraints. He raised an eyebrow, trying to find a suitable response for her, "Hm?".

When Tyler pulled up a stool, Mel felt condemned to sit down as well. She glanced over at the crowd of student dancers and caught sight of Kevin who hadn’t even waited for her to get back before dancing with a typical, regulation hottie. Mel internally groaned, watching as Kevin grabbed the girls ass, pulling her close before going in for a kiss. There goes that fling… Mel thought before turning her attention back to Tyler, lifting herself up on a stool and facing him, taking a sip of beer.

“Boyfriend?!” Mel practically choked on the liquid going down her throat. “I’m shocked you haven’t heard about Jason. Last I figured, it was the talk of the campus,” she mentioned, averting her eyes for a moment to his drink before glancing back up at him. “You should know, I’d never be anything stereotypical,” Mel chuckled, thinking about all of the crap she always gets for being a girl and liking the things she did. She always got shit for being a metal head or a guitarist. “Anyhow…what are you doing here? This party fuckin’ sucks. I always saw you as one of those guys that only hits up the big parties.”

Tyler grinned, "I was thirsty." He said with an immediate chuckle, "Isn't this a bar? Doesn't mean I was invested in this shitty party." He moved closer to Melissa, seeing as though her 'escort' was off with another woman and she took a seat.
"So, um, if it's not too weird... I wanted to talk to you about Jason." He began, letting his trap spring to life as Melissa would fall into it with no doubt in mind.

((Sorry, this post isn't too long.))

As soon as Tyler mentioned Jason, Mel's body posture strung up, ad if she'd been frightened or something along those lines. "Uh," Mel started, biting her bottom lip nervously, "I guess. What is it, Ty?" before he could even say anything, Mel went for her drink, finishing the beer off in one last large gulp.

Ever since she broke up with Jason all she could do when discussing it with people was turn their breakup into a joke. Otherwise, it was too hard to deal with. Jason, on the other hand, had made it a point to go around campus telling everybody how he 'hit that,' though people of course took that as getting to fuck around with Mel. What they didn't know was Jason actually did hit her. Once they broke up, though, Jason became somewhat of a creeper. There were a few times Mel would be walking out of class or out of her dorm, and Jason would just be staring there, staring at her as she walked away. At lack of a better word, it was just plain creepy.

"Melissa, rumors have been spreading around school, and I just wanted to tell you before anything bad happened, but..." Tyler stopped himself, pretending to ponder on whether to tell the girl or not, "I'm just afraid, from what I've heard of course, that Jason has plans to--" He let out another gulp, kinda forcing that undeserved reaction, "Kidnap you... possibly... worse."

Tyler sighed, turning around on the stool and resting his elbows on the bar behind him, looking out into the crowd to see if asshole Kevin had still been there, though not much to Tyler's surprise, he had already fled with another girl.
"Melissa, I don't think it's safe you go home tonight - alone at least."

Once Tyler said this, Mel was in shock. The way Jason had been acting recently towards her, almost in somewhat of a stalking way, seems to become so clear and obvious. Maybe Jason standing outside of her door all of the time wasn’t a coincidence, or him waiting outside of every one of her classes… His attitude, whether it was to win her back or not, seemed to match exactly what Tyler said. Maybe he was just plotting out the perfect time to kidnap her.

Yet…maybe it was the alcohol in her system, even though Mel felt herself completely sober up.

“That’s just…I…Um…” Mel couldn’t quite figure out exactly what to say. How is someone even supposed to react to news like this. “Jason couldn’t…He…” Mel looked into Tyler’s eyes, biting her bottom lip in question. “Do you really think he would? I don’t think having someone with me would actually stop him from…kidnapping…me.” When Mel said kidnapping, her face scrunched up a little bit, as if she was in complete disbelief. “Ty, you have an off-campus apartment or house or whatever, right?”
