Daniel walked through the long winding halls of the museum with his fellow college students, zoning out as the guide droned on about a specific jar that had a special significance. Pushing his glasses further onto his nose, the young man waded through the other young adults that were chatting and ignoring the guide.

"Damn, it's too stuffy in here..." he muttered flatly, saying hello a small group of girls who apparently liked him. With tamed light brown hair and soft blue eyes, why wouldn't they be? But he didn't care much; he only particularly interested in girls that were... well, interesting! He was mainly a History major, and so topics that ranged from the Renaissance to the Stone Age.

Slipping from the room, Daniel made it to another, more quiet space. With a soft sigh, the young male sat down before noticing something that caught his eye... another, more specific artifact...

The artifact was said to have great power. The power to throw one back and forth into time. It was sculpted with the shape of a bird head and made of gold. It clearly looked Egyptian. Legend says that a traveler would activate this great power and save a falling civilization. If the civilization could be saved then it would change history forever.

1,000 years before..

An young woman sat before the great god Horus in her temple of worship. She was praying silently to herself and was the only soul in the room. Outside shouts and yells could be heard. The pharaoh was doing his daily sweep. The sweep would consists of several faithful servants, soldiers, who would check for runaway slaves and theives. If such people were caught they would immediately be sent to the underworld. The young woman's named was Amphet, the daughter of the high priest and adviser to the the royal family. To her dismay she had lost something very precious to the temple. An artifact that could probably help save her city from a corrupt royal family. The only problem was were to find it.

((Uh, heh... I forget... who's going where? Is he traveling, or is she?))

Horus, the God of the sky and vengeance... Daniel mused, interlocking his fingers as he looked at it firmly. It was as if he couldn't tear his eyes away, like he caught in some spell, or something. Without a word, the young man stood up and strode over to the glass case, his gaze still caught by the falcon's stare. His heart began to beat faster and faster as his laid his right hand on the glass, trying to touch the artifact itself.

It was then he snapped himself out of the trance, "Woah!" he exclaimed, shaking his head as he hopped back in surprise. He closed his eyes for a minute and, as he opened them, discovered that his hands were on the small lock at the bottom. "What the hell am I doing?" he inquired to himself as he hands swiftly undid the lock. I don't even know how to pick locks! he thought urgently. At once the glass case swung open, leaving nothing between Daniel and the artifact. Reaching forward slowly, his hand lightly touched the bird's golden beak, wondering what the hell was happening...
