The Veritas Club

To mortal eyes, the club is a nightclub like any other, dark and lit with flashes of spotlight and strobe, long black metal bars catering to any drinker's wants, throbbing music loudly pulsing through the place, usually a DJ, sometimes a band or three, men and women cruising for their particular flavor of partner du jour. The bouncers at the doors scan for weapons with hand-held detectors.

The rule is that one does not feed on these mortal patrons unless one can cloud their mind so that they do not remember it, and then only in private. Assuredly, one does not kill any of them – breaking this rule will get a vampire irrevocably banned – if not worse.

At the rear of the nightclub there is a staircase leading down, and entrance to this staircase is guarded by a man and a women dressed as employees of the club, both look more than capable of restraining just about anyone they choose; they are ghouls, and possess enough Auspex to determine if one seeking to descend is kine or Cainite. If one managed to sneak a weapon past the bouncers at the door, it may well set off the more sophisticated wall-mounted detectors, setting off a silent alarm. Any agro with the ghoul guards will also set off an alarm, as there are several cameras which are monitored at all times.

Yes, of course, there are elder vampires, and others, a powerful mage, for example, who can fool the guards and the technology. If this is happening, you will please explain, in mechanics terms, how. I really would appreciate if no one decided to have a garou attack the place, though, again, very little is forbidden.

Once entrance has been gained to the lower level, through another set of double doors at the bottom of the steps, the atmosphere changes from that of the club above. The space is half as large as the club above, though there are doors leading off from it suggesting the extra space is taken up by other rooms. Several are marked 'private', and are locked with electronic locks. The others are open, having locks that lock from the inside, deadbolts, basically, and are available unless some other patron has availed themselves of a room.

The main lounge itself is softly lit, but not as dim as the club above it, with black leather sofas and counterpoint red chairs scattered about, marble topped tables here and there; the floor is black granite tile. The music from above is much quieter down here, allowing for conversation without yelling. The walls are decorated artworks, primarily abstract impressionism.

There is blood available in the form of ghouls, several of whom sit on a couch together near the private offices/rooms, pretty much the vampire version of stepping up to the bar. There are males and females both, and all of them were apparently chosen primarily for aesthetics, as they are all very attractive. There is alcohol available at a small bar, primarily for feeding to your dinner of choice, and a small sign at the bar indicates “Other Flavors Available Upon Request” - a sharp nose will indicate the presence of several chemicals, presumably drugs, which can also be given to the ghouls before drinking.

Again, the rule is one does not kill or incapacitate these ghouls, and should one forget his or her manners in this or otherwise, there are several ghouls not available for dinner as well as a vampire guard to remind them; perhaps there are other guards unseen.

The vampire guard stands at the back, near the stairs, he is dressed in a neat black suit, and watches everything with alert amber eyes. He doesn't seem too physically imposing, other than his height, but then, such appearances mean little to the undead.

Now, as to the management. This is information any vampire who lives in the city or bothers to find out will know. The owners are Angelique Morrison, Toreador, and Victore Dilaluna, Malkavian.

Angelique's heritage is known, she is of the eight generation, and has previously served as a scourge in another domain. She is also a famed patron of the arts, particularly, visual arts. She is 5'10” tall, curvaceous and very graceful, known to be a deadly fighter, obviously, but much preferring to behave in a civilized manner. She is also very beautiful, golden bronzed skin, model perfect features, long braided black hair, and dark chocolate colored eyes that seem to offer warmth. She is almost always friendly and warm unless provoked, and circulates throughout the club, socializing and making sure that the guests are comfortable, flirting in a casual and teasing way. She dresses in the height of fashion, and formally, wearing gowns from the most select houses.

About Victore, much less is known; he has never, as far as anyone is aware, held any position of significance. He is also normally polite and welcoming, though occasionally off-putting, as he will sometimes greet guests in an odd fashion, overly familiar, as if he knows them when obviously, he doesn't. He is an inch shorter than Angelique, and not imposing looking in the least, slender and almost boyish, paler than she is – pallid white, in fact, and ordinary looking, really, with a mop of almost unkempt auburn hair, except for his eyes, which are the guileless blue of a summer sky but seem to stare right through whatever he is gazing on. His fashion sense is apparently lacking, as he wears usually some combination of jeans and a long-sleeved tee.

The vampire guard is Gregory, and he, too, is a bit of a mystery, not even his surname (“Just Gregory's fine,”) or his Clan being certain, though it is said he is Brujah. He favors the dark suits, and, stands six-and-a-half feet tall, well muscled, but not bulky. He has short, almost military, well-kept blond hair, and amber eyes, and unless approached,(or in the event of trouble,) he tends to keep back from the goings on in the club, hovering near the little bar in most instances.

Last, there is Samantha Juliano, the club manager, who is usually to be found in her office, but when she comes out, she is even more friendly than Angelique, whose Clan she shares, though Samantha is the artiste and not the patron sort. Famed thirty years ago as a prima ballerina, she has, of course, since retired, for the time being, but her absolute grace is apparent, as well as he beauty – though not as stunning as her Clanmate, she is the ideal beauty of the milky blonde sort, and wears her golden hair up in a topknot, with a few tendrils loose around a doll-like and lovely face; like Victore, her eyes are blue, but unlike his, hers are open and seem happy, instead of strange.

Now, the rules, which are posted discretely for the patrons knowledge:

1.) Do not kill or drain the blood ghouls to incapacity, or attempt to brawl with the guards.
2.) Do not assault or attack other vampires, whether guest or management.
3.) Do not deface or vandalize the rooms.
4.) Firearms and swords are not allowed.
5.) Ghouled or otherwise controlled mortal guests are permitted, but are entirely the responsibility of the vampire who brought them.
6.) Other than the above, anything goes.

Disturbances are dealt with on a case by case basis; if two vampires begin to fight, provided they are not endangering others, or wrecking the place, they may well be left to resolve the matter for themselves. If the staff feels the need to intervene, they will, and at the very least, banning from the premise is always a possibility. Other incidents bring a more immediate response, such as killing off one of the club's ghouls.

Basically, all I am asking of players is common sense. If there is rampant godmoding and ridiculously overpowered characters bent on wreaking havoc, the whole thing becomes less fun for all. This isn't to say you can't start a fight, or bring in a Euthanatos impersonating a vampire, or have your Sabbat stop by.. Just, please understand that if you bring in a raging uber-powerful Abomination bent on killing everyone, I will feel free to counter with the ridiculous myself, and the floor will turn out to be Vicissitude'd flesh and swallow up the offender in a gaping demon maw, or such.

Obviously, sex, bloodplay, general vampire fun, to whatever degree you desire.

OOC Rules: Please no made-ups. Other than that, any clan/bloodline is welcome. Common sense = no antideluvians. Please post a character outline at the OOC board HERE – no, I don't need a character sheet with dots, just this:
Name:
Apparent Age (must be 16 or greater for board rules reasons):
Clan (or Bloodline):
Generation:
Description (can include picture or not, up to you):
Other (this includes reputation, fame, noticeable quirks ie. A Nosferatu who doesn't use Obfuscate around other vamps, etc.):

Samantha had double-checked the nightly set-up of the club to make certain that everyone and everything was in the proper place, while Gregory had made sure all the security protocols were in place and operational as usual.

Angelique, after choosing a low-cut vintage Dior of midnight-blue silk edged with small, tasteful diamonds, had been lounging at the bar working on something on a sleek Droid, while Victore wandered the room, seemingly aimlessly caressing small statuary placed atop end tables, as they waited for their guests.

Above, the club was already throttled into full roar, mortals packing inside as their night began.

(OOC: Ok, introduce 'em..)

An entire club dedicated to vampires, up top a practical buffet of humans for those who could take without being noticed and down below a meeting place for the Kindred to sit about without having to worry about something so petty as hiding themselves from the world. Vincent had heard that there would be ghouls for them to feed on, something that made his flesh crawl on principle, he would much rather find a victim and bring her down to the Kindred side of the club on his own.

Dressed in black leather, something that in his mind was always in fashion, Vincent moved through the mortals of the club, wanting to find himself something to play with before he went down to meet with his fellow Kindred, a place like this offered a great deal of possibilities to someone with his particular talents, how easy it would be for him to turn the people there against each other with just a few simple words... how much could be accomplished in a single night if he moved the right pieces about.

But now was not the right time for that, first he would find a play thing and take her below, and then he would begin to move the pawns about and see if he could find something a little bit bigger to move about.

Lucian had heard of this club from several friends who told him he had to check out so he finally listened and showed up. he opened the door and steped insdie, glancing around the place with his ice blue eyes as he walked thorugh the crowd. He was wearing baggy black jeans and a black tshirt with a leather jacket and boots. He had a small pendant of a black onyx dragon with ruby eyes around his neck. It was obvious this one hadn't been a vampire long, he was changed last halloween which happened to also be his birthday. He studied the people around him until eventually he made his way to the door that led downstairs. He glanced aorund and decided to check out where the door led to. Lucian opened the door and started down the stairs, glanceing aorund the room he had found. This was more like it, less crowded at least. His friends where right when they told him he'd like the place. He walked over to a table and sat down to relax as he glanced at everything around him and waited to see if anyone else will show and find this room.

Through the main front doors of the Veritas stepped a man in 18th century clothing. The gentleman sported a straw fedora, two raven's feathers adorning the side. A white long sleeve shirt rested upon his torso, sleeves rolled up, and atop that, a brown cowhide suit vest. A bolo tie with a skull lay on his neck, accompanied by a very small pouch. Red gems lay in the eyes sockets of the skull. A pair of brown cowhide trousers adorned his waist, with snakeskin boots upon his feet. The gentleman walked in, a cane in his hand, upon which was also a pair of red gems set in the eye sockets of the cane's skull. Fingerless gloves sat upon his hands, his fingers themselves adorned with rings. A simple wedding band stood out amongst the slightly gaudy rings. Two studs were embedded in his right ear, and small raven's feather dangled from the third hole; while his left ear sported only one stud. He grinned, but avoided showing his teeth to the patrons, as he walked through the crowd. He prodded at the pouch on his hip, ensuring it was still there after emerging from the crowd, and approaching the door to the downstairs.

He stumbled down the steps, guiding himself along using the handrails, and opened the door to the basement level. A cough resounded, announcing his arrival, and he stepped through the threshold. Coughing again, he continued until his 'throat was clear.'

"Fair evening to y'all." he announced, approaching the collective. "How y'all be?" He twirled the cane in his hand, and set it back down, resting his weight against it. He toyed the toothpick around in his mouth, pulled it out, and continued speaking. "This the place for us nightly types to congregate, yea? Just wan' make sure he in da right place." He clacked his rings against the head of his cane, and showed his carnivorous grin widely.

Lucian looked up when the man came downstairs and watched him for a second. "Appears to be although haven't seen many around down here yet. maybe more will show up." He looks away from the man and around the room. "Nice club though. Friends told me about the place and said I needed to check it out. Glad I did. Might be coming to this place alot."

Amour tapped her bottom lip with her index finger, her light lips stick stayed right where she put it. She had looked forward to coming here again. She had such fun the time before. She check her platium blond hair that fell around her hsoulder and down to her middle back in soft curls. She sported a beautiful black and skin toned dress that hugged her curvey figure, the round firmness of her back side was complimented by the long slit that started at the right of her hip and exposed her toned legs. She wore a pair of tall heels, her light make up made her look more beautiful while the dress and footwear promised sexual treasure. She smiled, her ocean blue eyes twinkling. She stepped out her car as the driver opened the door up for her. She was gaceful and moved as if she was dancing. She was not very tall, only five foot five but the extra couple of inches and the long strides she took with the switch of her hips made up for the hieght.

She walked into the club and the smell of sweat, lust, liquor and pumping life blood made her body hum. She smiled as the humans looked at her with either wonder, envy, lust or all three. She didnt care in the least. She would wonder back up and see if there was any tasty ones btu she would rather see who was attending this night. She walked to the back of the club and flashed her fangs at teh guards, though they knew what and who she wa, it was just the person she was. She was very proud of what she was and damn she loved the power in showing it. She walked down the stairs the plush lounge. She smirked. And the party was already started. Fun.

The gentleman coughed and turned to see the new arrival. "Well, a fair evenin' to you, cher. Ain't you just a sight to behold?" He coughed again, into the inside of his left elbow, and smiled at the woman. He smiled wide, his mouth full of carnivorous and sharp teeth. He stepped towards her, reaching up to his hat and removing it. Holding his hat up to his chest respectfully in his left hand, he stopped and let the cane rest against his leg, while holding his right hand out.

"How d'ya do this evening?" he asked, continuing to smile, his torso leaning forward in a half bow. The eyes in his bolo tie glimmered, but it wasn't clear if it was refraction of light, or something else entirely. "Might he have da pleasure o' your name, cher?"
