All's Fair in Love and Mafia War (Cheshire and I)

Jin listened to what he said and it seemed that either they both had different views on the subject of the woman that should have been the most important female figure in either of their lives when she was alive or the man had been trying to fool Jin. She watched him get up and jump off. She wondered what he wanted to show her and she moved onto the concrete barrier. She could easily have made the jump in any other outfit but in the dress and heels she was not so certain. She decided to go for it anyways and regretted it the instant what she did.

She jumped and the distance was just enough for the dress to come up enough for Cyrus, who was watching just incase she fell, to see the matching blue panties that she had been dressed in. She managed to land on her feet, the heels getting stuck in the grass for a second so she had to pull them out, and then she straightened the dress. A small blush was on her face as she hoped that Cyrus had not caught sight of the panties that she had been wearing and decided to say something before he got the chance to comment. â??What is it you wanted to show me?â?

"It's something good, I promise," Cyrus started as he made his way down the lawn. He then stopped and turned his head, a grin painted on his face. It's even better than those blue panties of yours." Before Jin could even react, he continued at a bit of a faster pace. After a minute or two of walking, they came to a rather large fountain that was built out of view from the rest of the lawn. The young man sat down at the edge and looked up at the statuette of the angel pouring water out of a jar into the pond below. "This place is where my mom would bring me during her free time," Cyrus started suddenly. "I always come here when I want to think back to the good times I spent with her. I kinda like to think of this as my significant spot."

The young man smiled and looked up to the sky, remembering some of the times his mother would bring him here. She would read him a book or sing or simply just sit there and watch him play in the grass. Her smiling face was like an inspiration for him to keep living. But now her smiling face was nothing more than a distant memory. He would never see it again in real life. Perhaps, Cyrus thought, Jin could fill that void. She was certainly unique amongst the women he had fooled around with before. Heck, even when she smiled, she resembled his mother. Perhaps it was why he brought the woman out here in the first place...

Jin followed him and when he made the comment about her panties her cheeks lit up but she said nothing as he soon moved again and she had to follow behind. She hated having to walk in the grass with heels She followed him to the spot, it was a beautiful spot and she smiled when she heard what he had to say about it. She knew that it had to be very important to him and she smiled at the thought of his mother bringing him here. The thought of a mother doing something or her child always was bitter sweet in her mind, she had no memories of her mother and her father refused to even tell his daughter her own motherâ??s name.

She noticed him looking at her and she directed her sweet smile in his direction, the perfect silence of happy memories was hanging this in the air only to be shattered by what happened next. A woman approached, moving silently and Jin was too lost in through to realize that someone was approaching. The woman was beautiful, brown hair and green eyes, a beautiful body and a dress that accentuated all of her features. The woman had her eyes trained on Jin and before even Cyrus had a chance to do anything she pounced.

The woman quickly got behind Jin, wrapping her arms around her and holding her as she said into her ear. â??Itâ??s so nice to see you again Jinny, have you come back for another game?â? she said it innocently enough but there was clearly something sinister hidden behind those words. From Jinâ??s reaction she knew what it was. It was as if all of the life had been drained form the woman upon entering the embrace, she went pale and all happiness and joy from her face vanished leaving behind nothing but a pure, primal terror. It was a terror that Cyrus had never seen on Jinâ??s features, possibly on other people, on people who know they are about to die.

The terror vanished as quick as it had come to be replaced by a rage, Jin let her knees collapse and dropped out of the womanâ??s embrace, then she swiped her foot across the ground in an attempt to bring the woman down. The woman, using Jinâ??s own shoulders for support, cart wheeled over the girl and avoided being hit. This was unlike Jin in ever aspect of how he knew her. Jin planned her actions, was careful not to loose it and would have never attacked someone of Cyrusâ??s family considering the position that she was in. The girl, taking advantage of the split second of confusion, grabbed Jinâ??s arms and yanked her painfully to her feet before shoving her head in the water. It seemed as though the woman was trying to drown Jin.

Jin used the moment that the other woman thought she won to her advantage and she hooked her leg, just enough for the woman to loose her footing and Jin spun around and, elbowing the woman right in the gut, knocked the wind out of her and sent her into the fountain.

Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she tried to catch her breath, her face and most of her hair was wet. The rage had passed and the fear had returned, she looked at Cyrus and at the woman in the fountain and saw that she was sitting up. Jin didnâ??t know what to do, the woman got cocky, Jin was lucky, and if she kept fighting one of them then someone might see and that would be enough for her to be killed so she did the only thing that she could do, fled deeper into the garden until she was out of sight.

The woman in the fountain caught her breath by this point and was just sitting in the water, her shoulders were shaking. Was she crying? No, she was laughing! She tossed her head back and laughed as though she just heard the funniest joke in the world. â??Damn, that girl is just too fun to play with.â? She said through her laugher to her brother whom was still by the fountain. Yes, this woman that Jin had attacked was none other then Maxwellâ??s eldest child, his daughter Sidero.

For awhile, everything seemed serene and peacefull. It was as if Cyrus had temporarily forgotten the hardships of his life and living under a father which he loathed so much. However, trouble of a different kind would find himself and Jin. Trouble that the young man never thought he would have to encounter again. In an instant, she was upon his companion and before he even had time to question who would sneak up on them from behind, the two were already tussling about. Based on Jin's expression, she felt like she was about to die the way she was struggling with the intruder. Cyrus's initial attempt to intervene proved useless as his cries for them to stop went on deaf ears.

When it became apparent that the woman was trying to drown Jin, he knew he had to intervene physically and just as he reached them, the intruder was tossed unceremoniously into the fountain leaving Jin breathing heavily with a look of fear on her face. Immidetley, Cyrus tried to go over to her side, but she fled deeper into the garden leaving him and the intruder alone. "Wait!" the young man yelled at the fleeing girl before sighing and turning to the intruder. Whoever this person was, they were about to feel the wrath of the heir to the Raubel family. He went over to the intruder and violently pulled her to her feet. The look on Cyrus's face was a combination of shock and anger. This wasn't just any regular intruder. It was, in fact, his elder sister, Sidero!

Sister or not though, Cyrus could not forgive what Sidero had done and as soon as she stopped laughing, the young man delivered a swift backhand to the side of his sister's face before angrily scolding her. "What the fuck are you doing, huh? HUH?" He gave her another slap to the face before continuing. "That woman is with us now! She's one of us! If you weren't family, I would kill you where you stand right now!" After a few deep breaths, Cyrus let go of Sidero and walked a few steps away from her, his hands on his sides. Then he turned back and pointed at her. "What are you doing here anyway, huh? I thought you were supposed to be out of town on business..."

It was then, during that conversation that Cyrus realized the more he beraded Sidero, the less chance he would have of finding Jin. So he decided to quickly end things with his elder sister and go look for her. "You know what, forget it. I'll deal with you later." And with that, the young man took off in search of Jin.

Sideroâ??s face hardened the moment her brother slapped her. It had amused her to see Jin react the way that she did and given the chance she would do it again so what gave her little brother the right to smack her? She listened to what he said, angry and half confused, then he slapped her again and she got really pissed, at that moment she vowed to make him wish that he hadnâ??t lifted a hand to her but not in a direct way. No. Cyrus would need a special kind of punishment for thisâ?¦.

She stood as he spoke, â??One of us? That girl will never be one of us. Have you so quickly forgiven them for everything that they have done to your family?â? She said in words that should have been yelled. However Sidero was not the kind to yell, no, she spoke in slow deliberate words so her smaller, slower brother could fully comprehend them. She heard his question and only smiled; she chose not to answer it. She could answer it another time right now she was content with watching Cyrus run after the girl.

Jin knew how to fight, as was demonstrated against Cyrusâ??s older sister, but she also knew how to run and, as if by instinct, that is what she was doing. She â??lostâ? a shoe in a direction that she was not going in so that she could throw off anyone trying to follow her and then after a while she did the same with the other, in case the first didnâ??t fool her pursuer.

However it seemed that whoever was going to chase her, they would have the advantage. The garden was huge and it seemed that she was only getting lost inside of it. She looked around and eventually came upon an area with several large trees and she saw her chance to hide. Everyone always looked on the floor, no one would expect to look up in the trees. Jin climbed high up into the tree, as high as her weight could be supported and hi herself in its branched. She curled up, wrapping her arms around her knees and then she held perfectly still, as if any movement might give her away, and that just might be the case.

Curled up like this, shoeless and in a tree, Jin looked very much like a child. Small, lost, and scared, the fear of not being in control. Things were always safe when she was in control. She could control who entered what rooms, who did what and when they did it. Here this control was snatched away form her and she was left nearly defenseless. Then Sidero came into the picture, the only woman that Jin feared, the only creature, man, woman, human, or not, that Jin feared, was here.

But the night was quiet, all she could hear was the sound of her own breathing and focusing on that one, familiar sound helped her clam down. Hopefully it would keep her calm until she could put herself back together. If she had things her way she would be missing for a few hours, long enough for her to reassemble her calm mask so that she could face that woman and, hopefully, hide her fear. She had not been expecting to see her, she never wanted to see her again after what she did but that too, was out of her hands. The only thing currently in her hands was her legs as she held her arms around them and struggled for control.

Cyrus ran through the bushes in trees like a man desperate to find a way of escape more than find a person of interest. If the look on Jin's face was any indication to him, she was frightened and frantic to get away from her attacker. It was odd seeing her react as such though. The woman had a normally calm demeanor except when she ran into some embarassing situations, but this time was different. It was obvious the way she reacted to Sidero that she knew her attacker and perhaps had some kind of previous history with her. He had to find out for her sake. This way, he would know what he could do in order to protect his companion.

A short distance away, Cyrus spotted one of Jin's shoes hanging from a low branch. He had a good idea of why it was there. He wasn't stupid enough to be fooled by it. He knew it was meant to deter any pursuers from their path. It was part of his 'training'. Feeling that he might be getting closer, the young man began to call out for the woman. "Jin...JIN!" he yelled, causing his voice to echo in the darkness. If she were hiding, perhaps his voice would be enough to coax her from wherever she was hiding. It was getting dark at this point and soon, even Cyrus was beginning to get a bit frustrated. His pants had ripped on a branch and he had stepped into some muddy soil causing his shoes to soak. Still, he persisted and he continued to call out.

Jin sat in the tree, putting back together the pieces of the â??personalityâ?? that she had built to protect herself. A way of erasing femininity from her actions enough for her not to be seen as an object that one could have sex with but instead a competent and strong business person who would to anything to get things to work out her way. While she was trying to do this she heard Cyrus looking for her, calling out her name and she worried that someone else in the house would hear him. She didnâ??t need the other members of the house knowing about what had happened. She didnâ??t know how many people that Sidero had told but she was certainly not going to let anymore people find out.

What she had been able to put together was still a bit shaky, it could be refined later. As if with a switch she whipped the fear from her face and went barefoot to greet him. â??If you keep calling me like that then someone else will look into this.â? She told him. Someone else might also take the chance to try and find her and kill her before Cyrus got to her, bringing her emotion under control let her mind realize that. She looked up at Cyrus then around and she went along the path that she had gone and collected her shoes, not putting them on but holding them in her hand. She thought that she had everything back under some amount of control and had been able to hide how shaken up she was, if only she had realized that her tear streams were etched in make up down her cheeks.

And then, as if nothing had gone wrong earlier, Jin appeared before him. She seemed her usual self, but Cyrus was not blind to what happened just moments before. Her tears were evident and he could even see that she was struggling to keep her self control in tact as she spoke to him. He ignored it for now as the only thing he had to do now was get her inside where it was safe. Then, he could console her in any way he could and find out just what the hell Sidero was thinking by attacking her. The young man took Jin tightly by the hand, afraid that if he let her go or if Sidero popped up again, she would run off in fear.

But what was it that was driving Cyrus to protect her so? It was true what his elder sister had said. She would never really be a Raubelo like he was. So why? Was it the fact that Jin might have had some previous trauma involving this Jerico person who's name she mumbled in her sleep? That couldn't be it. He had submitted himself to be able to respect her a bit more, but this feeling was different. It was as if he wanted to protect her from everything that was wrong with this family of his. He wanted to take her far away from here and never return, but he knew the chains of his father would keep him bound to the family until he was ready to take over.

As the two ran, these thoughts pondered through Cyrus's mind like a freight train until the lights of the house were in sight. The young man looked around to make sure no one was looking before he snuck Jin in the house with him. He hurried upstairs with the woman and got to his room and locked it, making sure that no one would get inside.

Jin was surprised by his response. He didnâ??t say anything but he took her hand and he began to run with her. Jin was, well, one could call it fragile. At least in this current state and if she broke she would be reduced to tears again and she didnâ??t want that to happen. However the touch of Cyrus taking her hand and leading her, somewhere safe she presumed, was almost enough to do it. She didnâ??t say a word as he ran, dragging her behind him. She just did her best to keep up with him as he took her back to the house.

She was happy that he snuck her in. When they got to his room and she caught as glimpse of herself in the mirror she cursed silently. She brought her hands to her face and rubbed off what was left of her make up. She looked at Cyrus to see where he was but she didnâ??t say a word otherwise. She seemed unbelievable displeased at the dress she was currently wearing and what was even worse was that her things were in that other room. Then, if Cyrus was watching, he would see that she was doing something strange.

She opened up his drawers and took out a pair of pants, a belt and a shirt, walked into the closet and came out wearing his close, as if she could no longer stand to be in a dress anymore. It was something that helped hold her together, erasing what femininity that she could form her appearance without looking entirely like a man. Now without her make up and out of the dress she was able to calm down a little bit more. She knew he would ask questions but no matter what he asked she knew that she didnâ??t want to answer.

As Cyrus was about to adress Jin's problems, he noticed that she had begun sifting through his drawers and taking out his clothes. He wanted to question it, but at this point he wanted to let the woman have her space after her harrowing ordeal. So, the young man sat and watched as she went into his closet and came out with his clothes on. He had hoped she might have wanted to bathe first as she was still noticably soaked and probably covered in sweat, but decided that he would just wash the garments later. That look of femininity was gone and she looked more like the good old business type woman he knew.

It dissapointed Cyrus, but knew it couldn't be helped. Besides, he had bigger things to worry about. After a few minutes, he finally spoke to Jin outright, a look of concern plastered on his face. "Are you alright?" he started. "That didn't look like any normal kind of exchange between the two of you. It almost looked like you knew each other. Now...I don't really know anything about your past, but if there is something you need to get off your chest, I want you to tell me directly, okay? I don't want to have to worry about you too much because I know you can take care of yourself but if I don't know what's going on with you, worse things that what happened out there could occur again."

Jin sat on the bed in complete silence, she was completely content to stay this way and fix what the manâ??s older sister had shattered. When he finally spoke it was a question that she had been expecting. Is she all right? Did she act like she was alright? Was that really a question to ask? Well, she sure hoped that she looked okay right now, after all that was the point of pulling herself back together. The observations that he made were normal but she was surprised when he asked if she wanted to get anything off her chest.

â??The only thing that I need off my chest is your sister, now and forever.â? She said very simply, very simply and very deliberately. She wanted to make it very clear that she didnâ??t like his sister and that she never wanted to see her again. It was very clear that she didnâ??t want to ever see that woman again. â??She is supposed to be dead.â? Jin said, possibly the coldest thing that she had ever said in the coldest way that it could be said. What ever his sister had done it was very clear that it was something terrible.

She was very happy that there were two beds in here. She sat on her own, her back to the pillows, it seemed that she wanted to end the conversation there since she offered up no more information, it seemed that if Cyrus wanted to know anything more he would have to ask the last person Jin wanted to speak to. His sister. For now she just gazed at the safe that her precious stuffed animal was hidden inside. By now Jin had been able to construct a sort of emergency mask. Rather then hide only her fear or hated it hid everything, leaving her face emotionless and her voice cold. Whatever had happened between the two of them was bad, very bad.

Cyrus wasn't suprised about the attitude that Jin had towards Sidero. She had always been a loose cannon in the family, usually going over her own father to achieve her own goals and ambitions. But even those were a secret, even to him and his father. She just came and went as she pleased and never cared to tell anyone of her whereabouts. What the young man did know though was that when his elder sister takes a particular interest in her targets, she makes sure that they get broken down physically and mentally. It was one of her greatest abilities that made her both respected and feared. For her to choose Jin of all people though...it made Cyrus burn a bit.

"I don't blame you for thinking like that," he started suddenly. "No one around here is really likes her either, but other than me, no one wants to speak up about it. But even when I do, she just scoffs or laughs it off like i'm below her or something." Cyrus sat down on the floor besides Jin's bed and let out a soft sigh. "Look, I understand that whatever happened between you two was bad, but bottling it up inside would be pointless at this point. That woman would probably jump out at us and blurt it out anyway in order to humiliate you more and I don't think you would want to experience that kind of thing in front of me."

Cyrus peeked over the bed to see Jin laying there. She looked distant and depressed. He would have preferred the happier Jin, or as happy as she could be being around him and Anya anyways. But Sidero was going to be a problem. Now that she was around again, she wasn't going to stop until she pushed Jin to the very limits of her sanity. She had to be stopped, but how?

Jin didnâ??t pay any attention to him, she didnâ??t look at him for speak to him, she barely even listened to him as he spoke. Sidero was good at doing this to people, doing worse to people. If Sidero had set her sites on Jin, which it was clear that she had, and Jin was like this, then, as terrible as it was, it seemed that Jin was lucky. She usually leaves her victims screaming and unable to string together rational sentences. Currently Jin seemed okay, hurt on some level that Cyrus didnâ??t understand but she was still thinking rationally. That was always a good sign.

â??If you want to know so badly then go ask her.â? Jin snapped at him. â??Iâ??m not saying it!â? and then Jin stopped. Yes, she refused to say it. Refusing to say it helped her not admit to what had happened and it was something that she would not admit. If he wanted to know it seemed he would have to ask his sister.

A low sigh escaped the lips of Cyrus. It was apparent that Jin didn't understand that he was trying to help her through these troubling times. He wanted to at least be the ears that could listen and accept the terrible story of her past. But alas, she was being too stubborn at this point and wouldn't say a thing. But the young man understood that these things take time and whether Sidero or Jin would reveal it, he would find out. In the meantime, the best he could do right now was allow for the woman to get some rest.

"Well, whatever," Cyrus started abruptly. "Just get some rest for now and we'll sort this all out in the morning. I'll stand guard in case anything happens." The young man took a chair and propped it up against the locked door so he could sit on it. This way, he would be able to hear any footsteps that came close and feel if the door was trying to be opened. He would wait until Jin fell asleep and then try to get some rest himself. For now though, he sat, staring at his companion, and waiting...

A few hours later someone was making their way down the hallway. It seemed that someone had not had enough earlier for not miss Sidero was on her way down the hall. Only she moved so silently Cyrus, in the tired state he would be by this time, would scarcely hear her coming until she tried to open the door. Knew at that moment that Cyrus was in there protecting the girl, being ehr watch dog. If Cyrus had been close to falling asleep then he would have been jolted awake by her attempted entry. She smiled as sle leaned against the wall by the door. â??So, have you become her watch dog? Trying to keep your swimmer safe, a little late, she's with the sharks now. Not even you can protect her forever." She said with a laugh, though not one of joy. " Have you looked at her yet? She should be sleeping by now. Isnâ??t she cute. She looks so peaceful when she is sleeping but she is so much more fun when she is awake.â? The woman commented.

â??I think you like this one. Shame on you falling for her. Then again she is rather cute, you should have seen her when she was little, like a princess in one of her favorite fairytales. Back then she was into much less twisted ones.â? She said with a small laugh. It seems that she did know Jin when she was younger. Whatever happened it happened a long time ago and Jin seems to be still affected by it.

The footsteps did not fall on deaf ears. Even as Jin fell asleep, Cyrus remained alert and aware. Ready for anything that could possibly happen in the next few hours. The turning of the knob immidetley brought him to attention as he rose out of the seat and turned to face the door. When Sidero spoke, the young man instantly recognized her and remained on guard in case she tried to break in forcefully. He would have none of her words though. As soon as she was finished speaking, he replied in an angry, yet quiet tone so as not to awaken Jin. "That's enough. I don't want to hear another word out of you and I don't want you coming a step further into this room. If you do, i'll throw you out on your ass myself. Regardless of whether she's Savino, she's my responsibility now and I won't let anything bad happen to her. You understand?" With that, the young man sat back down on the chair, and leaned against the door. Hopefully, his words would be enough to make Sidero give up and go away for now.

And although he didn't want to listen to his elder sister's words, Cyrus still found himself contemplating them. He really did want to find out what had happened between her and Jin. However, the one person he wanted to her it from told him to go to the person they hated most for the information. It was as if Jin was humiliated by it, yet she did not care if her worst enemy blurted it out in front of them. Should he really buckle and ask Sidero? No. Jin would tell him when she was ready, regardless of what she said or felt before.

Sidero could not help but smile at her little brotherâ??s reaction. She did love to see him so flustered and even though she was unable to see him just knowing that she was flustering him was enough to bring her joy. â??Aww, donâ??t you remember why she is here? Why father is letting her into our home? She is not here to be your friend, remember? Or have you forgotten?â? She asked wickedly. Cyrus hadnâ??t said much when he found out. He probably didnâ??t think he would grow to like the girl. Poor little brother, now she was going to have to se him straight.

Jin had moved silently when she awoke, hearing Sideroâ??s voice had put her instantly on alert. She got out of the bed, refusing to be in it while she knew that woman was close and she was shocked by what she heard next.

â??Well then, if you would let Jin play with me then perhaps I will have to go have some fun with Anya.â? Sidero said in that same, wicked tone. She sounded like she was happy but there was clearly something sinister behind every word she spoke. Jin was at the door in practically an instant. She unlocked and opened it and as fast as one could move she had her hand on Sideroâ??s shirt, holding her face close to hers as she spoke very deliberately. â??I swear to god that is you so much as touch that girl I will skin you alive and hang your pelt on my wall and there wonâ??t be a man in this whole damn house who can stop me.â?

â??Not a man who can stop me?â? Sidero questioned, she didnâ??t seem the slightest bit threatened where any man in her position, very likely even Cyrus, would be near terrified enough to soil his pants. Jin was livid, and it was almost scary. â??What about a woman?â? And with that Jin realized her mistake but by that time it had been too late. Sidero wrapped her arms around Jin, one hand behind her head as she forced her into a kiss, a deep one at that. The other managed to hold Jin while keeping a hand at just the right spot for a quick fondle of the girlâ??s breast. It only lasted for a few seconds while Jin struggled until she thought straight enough to bite down hard and let her body limp so that it dropped out of the womanâ??s grasp. Jin spit out the blood form the womanâ??s tongue and Sidero only laughed, a little of the blood spilled from her mouth. â??Whatâ??s the matter? You seemed so intent to have me to yourself, trying to scare me away from Anya, and now you donâ??t seem to be having fun.â? Sidero mocked. Jin moved close to Cyrus, clearly terrified and trying to hide it. â??Donâ??t let that woman near Anya.â? Jin warned before returning to the room and hiding behind the wall.

There she sunk to where her knees pressed against her chest and she wrapped her arms around them, near ready to break down but trying her best to wait until Sidero left.

Cyrus would have simply ignored the first comment, but hearing Anya's name then was enough to goad the young man out of his seat and to the door to confront his elder sister. However, Jin was just that much faster and soon she and Sidero were involved in yet another struggle. It would have seemed kinky if the circumstances weren't so grim and serious, however, Cyrus had to put a stop to this once and for all. Sidero wouldn't get away with such a comment, nor the way she was treating Jin during the struggle. While the two women were engaged with each other, Cyrus walked over and grabbed the gun that had been resting on the stand on his dresser.

Though he never used it due to it being a memento of his mother, he felt that at this time, it would come in handy in this situation. With a prayer for forgiveness in the back of his head, he raised the gun and pressed it against his elder sister's temple, his finger on the trigger and ready to pull at any second. He pressed so hard in fact, that he forced her to to the wall where he held her still with his free hand. For a moment, he stood there, allowing Sidero to grasp the severity of the situation she just caused. Then, Cyrus spoke in a slow, emotionless tone, his eyes shooting a hole through hers.. The kind of look he would have when he had killing intent on his mind.

"Now I want you to quiet down and pay attention as hard as you can. I don't know what you've been doing scince you've been gone, but apparently, you've forgotten the way things work around here. When our father isn't around, i'm the one in charge, understand? I am above you in every single way possible in this family. That means, when I say you stay away from my people, regardless of who they are or what family they're from. You stay away. And when you don't listen to your superiors, things like this happen." It was then that he stopped and with the look of killing intent still on his face, he pulled the trigger.

Nothing happened.

No one, not even his father knew that Cyrus never bothered to load the gun that was given to him by his mother. Yet when he carried it around with him, everyone assumed that he did and that's what he used against Sidero just now. He wanted to put the fear of death into her. He wanted to let her know that family or not, she was as good as dead if she screwed around with him, Jin or anyone else he concidered close to him and to hell with any of the concequences. After a few seconds, Cyrus began to speak again, this time, letting a bit of the pressure from the muzzle off of his sister's temple.

"You're very fortunate that I don't simply blow your brains out right here and now. Mother would never forgive me if I did. But even she has her limits when it comes to you. You should remember that, Sidero." Then, as calmly as he pointed the gun at her, he released the woman and lowered his weapon. "Now leave."

Sidero was basking in the glow of what just happened, she loved it, adored it. She never really got to strike so much fear into anyone anymore, most of the people she used to be able to do that to are dead. The rest were in the protective custody of a mental institution. The way Jin fled and she bit her. She bit her hard and she could taste the blood. Yes, she was not happy that she had been wounded but the fact that Jin had been so desperate to get away form her that was what she resorted to amused her greatly. She did intend to have more fun with Jin, much more. However if her little brother had anything to say about it then it seemed her fun would stop tonight.

She felt the gun pressed against her temple and she didnâ??t mind all that much. Her brother didnâ??t have the guts to kill her. He wasnâ??t the killer, she was. He pushed it hard so that she was forced against the wall and when he put his other hand on her to hold her she held still. She decided to let him think he had the upper hand, it was more fun that way. It would be all the sweeter when she showed him just how powerless he truly was. He had improved his bluff since he was younger, she was almost proud. Then he monologued, people often do when they think they have the upper hand, admittedly she had done some of that herself but she made sure that her victims were always too terrified to even attempt to tune her out.

Then he pulled the trigger.

She was surprised. He was getting better at this but why? What Jin the reason? Perhaps Jin was just what his father had been looking for, a way to harden the soft boy into the killer he needed to be. She wondered if father would forfeit her life, he probably would if it would make her brother like her. Too bad it would not, Sidero was special, her father was proud of that. â??Well congratulations, you almost had me going there.â? Sidero spoke with a smile, â??Yes, mother always did have her limits with me but so do you dear brother. Superior only because of gender but I wonder how much favor you would loose if father knew about this. I am older then you and I should be heir. You donâ??t wonâ??t this family, we both know that. So donâ??t you worry dear brother. I will find a way to take it from you.â? She said it as if she was doing a favor for him. Then she walked away.

â??Good night dear brother, good night little Jin, pleasant dreams to both. Tomorrow I look forward to seeing you again.â? She said kindly though somehow it sounded dangerous. Then again with Sidero pretty much everything she said was.

With Sidero gone now, Cyrus could only reflect on her actions just now. Sure, she retreated, yet she didn't show the nervousness or fear that he expected. It was very troubling to him. Any other person would probably be wetting their pants at what he just said, but her...no, she just simply shrugged it off and concidered it nothing more than a bluff he couldn't go through with. And maybe she was right. After all, if he did actually decide to kill her, his father would probably disown him leaving Jin to suffer at the hands of Sidero and the rest of his family. In a way, Cyrus felt stupid for trying to intimidate his elder sister like that now that he thought about the concequences more, bit it was the only thing he could do to protect the woman huddling in the corner of his room.

As far as that matter went, the young man decided to go to her side and offer a bit of comfort in this troubling time of need. Now that Sidero was gone, he could relax a bit and be by her side. With his gun still in his hand, he calmly walked over to her and sat beside her. His head was held low and his gun hand was in his lap. Looking to his side, he could see that Jin was trying to get a hold of herself. After dealing with such a brazen and brutal assault like that, almost any woman would be in that kind of position. Slowly, the young man reached over with his free hand and set it around Jin's shoulder. Cyrus could only imagine what she was going through right now. She even saw a side of him he would much rather not reveal to woman as well. How would she take it? For now though, the only thing he could do was sigh and hold her close to him. "She's gone now," he muttered out in the empty and silent room.

Jin had sat there, tuning everything out, trying to focus only on her heart beat. People said to focus on your breathing and they and control it but the you were not getting the oxygen you needed. The hearty was what demanded oxygen so it was the heart she focused on. Focusing until she could feel the blood pumping through her veins and bringing warmth to her body. This usually helped calm her down and when she was calm she would piece herself back together. When Cyrus put his hand on her shoulder, though it had been nothing other then a kind gesture, she jumped and pushed it away, her heart beating fast in her chest and her breath was quick. It was as if she had been running when she had been sitting there, well, technically she was running from something, this part of her past that was quickly catching upâ?¦

She heard what he said and she practically collapsed with relief. But it wasnâ??t over, it never was with this woman. Jin couldnâ??t hold herself back much longer, something had to give. She threw her arms around Cyrus and sobbed quietly into his chest, as if she was trying to keep the tears a secret. She clung to him, not wanting him to go anywhere but wishing to be anywhere but there. â??Sheâ??s supposed to be dead.â? Jin said, she didnâ??t care if Cyrus cared for her as his sister, Jin wanted that woman dead, had tried to have her killed multiple times but she vanished, assuming someone else did her in Jin was happy but now it seems as if she was wrong.

It took longer than he expected, but finally, Jin broke down. That tough outer shell she put on to control her emotions crumbled and all that was left was an innocent woman sobbing in Cyrus's chest. Calmly, he put his arm around her and shared his embrace. In a way, the young man was happy the way things turned out. It proved to him that deep inside, Jin was a human being just like he was, capable of releasing waves of emotional stress. "She was supposed to be dead," Jin had said. Something clicked in the back of Cyrus's mind just then. Perhaps the events that transpired between Jin and Sidero prompted her to put a hit out on his sister.

Frankly, he wasn't suprised. Sidero had been known for making many, many enemies and he had heard that several attempts were made on her life over the years while the Raubelo and Savino families were fueding. Yet somehow, his elder sister had somehow been able to avoid assassination each and every time. From drive by shootings to exploding warehouses, she had gone through it all without so much as a scratch. But the reasons why could wait for now. Cyrus held Jin close as she spoke and he replied softly. "I know. She should have been dead many times over. I'm not suprised your family tried to have her killed and my opinion of you won't change knowing that fact. All you need to do it let me and Anya protect you right now. We're the only ones you got right now..."

He was very surprised by his answer. At first she was really scared, she worried that he would reject her. She knew how he felt about his motherâ??s death by her family and learning that they had tried to take his sister away form him too. She was sure that she would be very upset but as surprising as it was he wasnâ??t. He even sympathized with her. She looked up at him with tearful eyes, unsure what to do and unsure what to say. He had his arms around her though, he was holding her close to him and he would protect her. She knew that.

She remembered that he had been guarding the door when she woke up. He had been keeping Sidero out of the room and keeping her safe. â??Anya... she isnâ??t safe. As long as that woman is here she will not be safe... If you love that little girl you will do everything you possibly can to keep her from Sidero, donâ??t let them talk and for the love of god do not let them alone together.â? Jin told him as she reburied her face into his chest, nuzzling him. â??She finds a way to hurt everyone; it is what she does Cyrus.... Its what she does...â? She sobbed into his chest, getting scared she clung tighter to him. â??Donâ??t let her hurt me again.... please...â? she said, practically begged, no, she did beg him. What ever the woman had done to Jin was horrible, something that it seemed like Jin was worried might happen to Anya.

Slowly however Jin calmed down, still clinging to Cyrus. Until she finally fell asleep, feeling safe in his arms.

Cyrus knew of the danger that Anya was in now that Sidero was back. Like Jin, Anya was not truly of his heritage. Not a Raubelo. She had been adopted into the family at a younger age and raised under the tutalage of his father, Maxwell. She was a bit spoiled, but she would go through a daily training regimine in order to sharpen her skills with the gun and spy work. That's why she carried a pistol that only fired rubber bullets with her. It was not only a means of protection, but a way to train without her getting hurt herself. In a few years, the girl would be able to own a real firearm. And what was the purpose for this training?

It was to ensure that the tragedy that befell Cyrus's mother would not happen again. Prior to her death, she had said that her son shouldn't have to be able to own a firearm at his age. Through much persuasion by Maxwell, she had finally caved in and decided to get one for him. That was the day she died. And the day the gun she was holding fell into her son's lap as she slumped over him covered in blood. It was the gun that Cyrus himself now held in his hand, ready to fend off any intruder into his room. It was fortunate that Anya was still with Maxwell in the dance hall. It would have been traumatizing to her to see the series of events that unfolded in this room. As long as she stayed with his father, she would be safe. He would explain things to her in the morning.

In the meantime, the young man assured Jin that Anya would be safe. "Don't worry. Sidero won't do anything as long as Anya is with my father. He would be quite upset to see anything happen to her and she knows that. She will be safe. I'll also be sure to explain things to Anya when she's available." With that being said, Cyrus allowed Jin to rest in his arms, the tears soaking into his shirt until she had finally fallen asleep. When she did, he carefully picked her up and placed her on his bed and put the covers over her. Then, just as he did earlier, he walked back over to the chair and propped it against the door. There he sat until he too fell asleep, the handle of the silver revolver still tight in his hand.

In the morning Jin woke up and she composed herself, assuring herself that she would be fine as long as Cyrus was there. His room was big and he had his own private bathroom so when she woke up she put a blanket over him and checked to make sure that something was propping the door closed so that it could not be opened just incase he might be too tired to wake up if someone, Sidero, tried to get in. After that she stripped from her clothing and she headed into the bathroom.

She got right into the shower, washing herself and brushing her teeth repeatedly as well as mouth wash. While she did it in a very normal way the reason for it was clear, the memory of Sideroâ??s kiss lingered in her mind and she didnâ??t want any part of that. Of course with her hair wet it curled again. When she got out and wrapped the towel around her body and looked at the curls in the mirror she frowned. She didnâ??t like them and the reason went deeper then one would think. She used to love her curls, made every girl she ever encountered jealous, but then she met that woman. Something that she did made her hate these beautiful curls so she hid them from everyone and hide away all of the pictures with her having curled hair.

She blew it dry and straightened it until there was no hint that curls had once been there. After that she dried herself off and then looked around. She frowned. She usually laid her clothing out on the bed for when she left the bathroom but the problem was that she was not in her own room and all of her clothing was not in this room with her. She didnâ??t want to wear Cyrusâ??s clothing again so she only had one option; she had to talk to Cyrus.

She borrowed his robe, wrapping it around her body and tying it closed before going to see him. She woke him up gently before asking him, â??Can we bring my clothing here?â? hoping to get it soon. She didnâ??t want to say that she had nothing to wear and with Sidero here she didnâ??t want to risk leaving the room in only a robe so she would need Cyrusâ??s help to get her things.
