Home is where the Black is (Anansi and Sorrow.)

He left the store seconds later with a slight lump in his pocket and walked towards the end of town when he spotted her. Stopping he walked over to her and grimaced as he gripped her chin with a soft but firm grasp and turned her towards him. "What happened?"

"Idiot backhanded me after I didn't want te go and fuck him. I smashed his face in, got tossed out." she replied with a faint grin, rubbing a blooming bruise along her cheek. "What about ye, any more death defying today?" she asked.

His eyes darkened till his sclera was a deep black and he simply strode past her and into the bar. A few seconds later a man came flying out his face bleeding and bruised followed by another, a man came through a window, then one slamming through the wooden wall itself before he came dragging out two other men. "They were all laughing about it." He said as he tossed the other two into the pile. "Which one was it?" He asked slowly. At the heart of it, he was a dangerous experiment, and one of those dangers was an extremely fine tuned skill set when it came to damaging multiple opponents in minimum time."

Hawk's mouth opened to speak as he moved into the bar. She winced faintly as the men came crashing out of the bar and she shook her head "Ye don't seem te be in a position to laugh since I beat ye into the floor. Xeno, leave the piece av go-se. All av them, it's not worth it." she stated.

He sighed softly as he stroked his fingers through his hair before he walked over the men calmly before he headed down towards the ship. "Cmon lets get that lip fixed up." He said to her as he continued to walk forward.

Giving a mental sigh of relief, the woman followed him back to the ship. It was a good thing that he was able to see sense in her words, otherwise they would have attracted to much attention.

Stopping in at the mayor's office briefly he dropped off his retainer's fee of sorts before he headed back out soon reaching the ship.

Hawk didn't comment right off about Xeno's actions, giving a mental shrug and following him up the ramp of the ship, focusing on walking. Her head ached, her mouth and body pounded and the whiskey left a harsh taste on her tongue. Still, the fight had been damned satisfying.

Walking along to the sickbay of sorts they'd made he pointed to the chair. "Take a seat." He said as he began to shuffle around objects in a chest looking for some gauze and antiseptic.

Hawk took a seat on the medical cot and nodded at a drawer to Xeno's right "That one, there's disenfectant and gauze inside. I reorganized this place awhile ago." she commented mildly.

He drew off his gloves and washed his hands before he took the items. Walking over to her he simply took her chin and dabbed off the blood with gauze before wiping it clean with another pad with water dipped on it then cleaned the cut with antiseptic. As he leaned in the lump in his pocket pressed to her thigh.

The woman kept still, eyes on his face, the half bored, half stoic expression on her face when it came to being patched up. When he leaned in she raised a brow "Bought some loot did ye? she asked, thinking of the small package in her coat.

"Oh..erm yeah." He said slowly almost dismissingly of the object before he finished patching her up and gently ran his thumb over the small layer now covering the wound. "There all done."

She nodded, the curiousity that had risen fading as he finished. She gave a small smile "Thanks, it wasnae necessary." she commented, secrectly appreciative of the small attention.

Hand still on her chin he leaned in briefly his lips almost touching hers when the inappropriateness of it caught him and he pulled back licking his lips and walking towards the door.

Hawk twitched faintly, surprise making her keep still though the urge to close the distance was oddly strong. As he left she stood up, brushing dust off of front idly, attempting to brush off the near-kiss in her mind as well. It wasn't working. She shook her head, walking back to the cockpit, ready to initialize the take-off sequence.

He made his way down to his cabin before he slowly leaned back resting his head against his wall. It was funny that their cabins were right next to each other but he'd never seen the inside of hers. He pondered on that briefly, he wasn't going to lament the near kiss or the feelings he had, he'd just move on. He was the captain of this ship and she the pilot, anything else would probably confuse things.

Hawk sat down in the pilot's chair, starting the take off sequence and flying the ship awhile. After about two hours, she sighed and rested her head back against the seat, initiating the auto-pilot and leaning back in her seat. Closing her eyes she found that she couldn't quite get Xeno out of her thoughts and frowned, yawning before she fell into a deep sleep, half curled in her pilot's chair.

Slipping upstairs he walked down the hallway to the cockpit. Looking her over briefly he sighed as he leaned in stroking his fingers through her hair before he placed a blanket over her. Looking to double check coordinates and such he leaned in and sighed before he left once again and made his way back to the kitchen.

She barely stirred as he covered her with the blanket, too deeply asleep to feel his touch. She remained in rest for an hour and a half before she shivered, half turning again. Perhaps it was the fact that she was sleeping in a pilot's chair, a place she had spent a good chunk of the War in. Her dreams turned to a blur of air battles and rending crashes. Her belly dropped and the ship's alarms howled around her, making the woman wake and pitch out of the chair with a loud thud. Sitting up with the klaxons still in her ears she looked around, breathing hard, eyes wide and face damp with sweat. The sounds slowly faded and she leaned against the chair's bottom, closing her eyes and rubbing her temples, expression tense and miserable.

Sitting in the kitchen he watched the clock on the wall as he sighed and nodded. He heard her fall and knew she'd eventually make her way back this way. Crossing his legs he leaned back and rested his heels on the table contemplating a number of things. Should he leave before she got there? Should he stay, if he id what should he di? He wasn't sure at all, it was a rare uneasy feeling for him.

Eventually she stood up, the blanket curled around her still as she walked back to the kitchen. She paused a fraction as she spotted Xeno and shrugged, walking in and making some tea to let it steep. Sitting down nearby, she sighed faintly, running her hands through her hair.

Sitting back he sighed and closed his eyes before looking up through the ceiling at the stars high above them while he sighed softly. Licking his lips he shrugged slowly before he looked to her. Part of him wanted to lunge across the table, another part of him wanted to just let it go.

The woman mirrored his actions, licking her lips and trying to bring moisture to a mouth dry with fear. She rubbed the back of her neck restlessly, and spotted the packet on the table, unopened still. Wordlessly she slid it over to him, leaning forwards on the table, trying to nurse her persistent headache.

Looking to it he slid it back over to her and sighed as he leaned back in his chair, he wasn't going to lean forward at all so he simply pushed it back with a brief flicker of power from his mind. Running both of his hands through his hair he thought of something to say, there were many things, but he just didn't know how.
