The One That Got Away (Me and TheLegionary)

Julius listened to Angel´s voice and looked at the roof. "So, you are over there. Come down! We have a long way to go!", he said turning his back to the place Angel was and walking towards the other members of the group.

Angel jumped down, landing in a crouch gracefully in front of him. She stood slowly and turned, her sapphire eyes locking on to his.

Julius was surprised. Although Angel was a weakling, she was very agile. He clapped his hands with some irony. "Let's go, we have to move as much as we can before the sun goes down."

She turned and stepped away, looking in the direction they would be traveling. Then Angel looked around to see if everyone else was ready to go now. Asha stood at her side, closing his eyes and she reached down to scratch behind his ears.

Understanding what Angel meant, Julius mounted his horse and began to ride to that same direction. His 12 companions followed him and began to ride. After some minutes, they were galloping very fast towards their target: the misterious Boss.

Angel ran alongside Julius's horse. Surprisingly, she was able to keep pace with him, and even pass him as she raced forward so she was several yards ahead of the group. Asha ran with Angel, perfectly matching her pace.

Julius was surprised with the girl`s endurance and tried not to push her too much. He was clever and knew she would be pivotal in the plan to destroy the boss. It was his own interest to preserve her.

Angel soon fell back, letting Asha take the lead for a while as she now ran beside Julius. She seemed to be enjoying the run, her hair blowing behind her and her eyes sparkling. Strangely, Angel didn't seem to be tiring.

After many hours, Julius ordered everyone to stop for a meal. Thereafter, they all continued to follow the incredible wolf. And this continued for several days until the group reached the outskirts of the lands of the Boss. When the wolf stopped, Julius understood they had arrived and turned his face to Angel who was stopping running next to him, as if asking more information about the enemy or how we should proceed from now on. "Angel, and now? What shall we do?", another crusader asked.

"Dismount, and let the horses go. They will be here when we return. The area up ahead is unholy, and affected by blight. We move fast across the ground, and right into the building up ahead. It won't seem big on the outside, but that's just an illusion. Half of us will go in from the back, the other half in from the front. Boss's room will be the only room on the very top floor, but be careful...I don't know if he is in his room at this time or not."

Julius and his friends agreed with her plan - they dindt know whether it was because of her name or because of her confidence. Anyway, the group was split into two according to Angel's suggestion. And it was put in motion.

Angel kept her distance from the group as she led them around to the back. The ground around them was black and dead. The trees were withering up, their trunks and leaves an ashy gray color. She seemed to tense up as they walked. The building looked as if it were no bigger than a cottage. She pushed open the back door, peeking in to make sure it was clear.

Asha led the other group through the front door, which he successfully managed to open by jumping up and scratching at the door knob. Once it was open he slowly led them inside, looking left and right to make sure there was no one around.

Julius was with the wolf. After the snarling and scratching, no surprise was left and the group rushed inside the house - they swiftly lite fires and began to walk towards to center of the cottage to meet Angel. Would the boss be inside?

They would find that it was not really a cottage at all, but more like a mansion. Asha quickly led them down a long hallway, and up a flight of stairs. Angel led her group up a flight of stairs as well, moving quickly and quietly.

The group after Sasha was beginning to feel uncomfortable, since the animal did not seem to understand the purpose - it was wandering around and taking Julius and his companions to nowhere apparently. Even so, there was no better option left. Julius followed the animal, supposing it would at least take them to Angel's group.

(Asha, not Sasha) He seemed to know where he was going. He led them down another hall, around a corner, and up yet another flight of stairs as Angel led her group father up as well.

Julius followed Asha with his companions. All of sudden, they heard noises but Asha did not seem to bother - there she was, Angel, running upstairs in the other pflight of stairs paralel to his. Julius continued running with his sword in hands. No words were being spoken. The house's temperature was incredbily pleasant in spite of the cold weather outside.

She moved quickly up the stairs, moving silently to the middle of the room-they were on the top floor now. Asha approached her slowly and she knelt down, their eyes locking for a moment. Angel frowned, speaking in barely a whisper. "Are you sure?"

Julius and his men did not understand. Were Angel and Asha talking to each other? How could that be possible? Were she an angel indeed, that would be possible. But if she were an angel, why would she agree to kill a templar, a loyal servant of god?
Anyway, all the men continued to look at the two creatures while they were deciding what to do.

She cursed softly and stood, turning to them. "He's not here-the entire building is empty. Asha can't smell him, and I can't sense him. He might have abandoned this base for a new one."

Julius sighed: "Shit! What the hell are we going to do now? I thought you had a plan". The 12 men murmurred supporting Julius' complaints.

Angel looked around, letting out a sigh. "He was not supposed to be changing bases for two or three more months. Boss must have decided to leave early. He never told me where we were going to move, just that he would tell me-" Angel stopped. Asha stepped away, sniffing at the air. He then let out a low growl before quickly moving back by Angel.

Julius and his men were tired - they had been travelling for many days for nothing and were very disappointed. Julius looked at Angel"trying to be kind: "Dont you think we should stay and rest here? The Boss has departed and will not probably come back to this place. So, it is a safe harbour!

She looked down at Asha, then at Julius. "Some of the rooms are locked, and some of those are sealed with spells, but we should be able to use the other rooms...lets just hope there aren't any mercenaries that Boss hasn't told about the move...they might show up here."

Julius raised an eyebrow and turned to his companions: "Under these circumnstances, everyone stays together. I dont want to miss anyone sleeping", he said turning to Angel as if he had not liked the outcome of her plan.
