What the hell happened to them? Did they go extinct right before Episode 1 or something? Nothing I have ever read mentions them after Episode 1 nor does anything ever confirm they went extinct, they just never show up.

I know Echani martial arts were used to train the Royal Guard for the Emperor but I don't know if they had disappeared by then or not .

I did like the Echani in KotOR.

And if I recall some Jedi still practice their fighting style as a means to defend themselves without a light sabre.
