Vampire Corpse Haven IV ~Bunny and Ducky~

He chuckles and shifts just enough to support her weight as she repositions her arm and forces it back into it's proper socket. Riley didn't mind, it would be better if she could support herself later on. Feeling her arousal, the heat of her breath, he even permits her to latch on to his neck. Tilting his head, he cradles her head to his bare chest, putting her up properly on her feet as he begins to release her from her weighty accessories. Feeling she had had her fill, he pries her off from his body, tearing the skin slightly in the process. Letting his blood drip down his toned body, it mingles with her blood on his milky pale flesh. "Shower," comes his abrupt command, turning and walking away from her to retrieve his shirt from the floor, folding it neatly and placing it aside.

Without another word, he leads the way to the bathroom, shedding his pants mid stride easily enough, with proper grace of a confident man. Placing them across the sink top, cranking the water to a bearably hot temperature. Even with his recent abstinence, he was hardly desperate enough to bother with a muddied harlot.

Artemis grinned, licking her lips as blood leaked from the upturned corners. She purred after him, shedding the rest of her clothing. She was long-legged, muscled heavily, with silver scars littering her body. She had large rounded hips, her breasts just as large as they bounced with her stride.

Confidently strolling after him she pulled her sickeningly dirty hair from her shoulders. As she separated the tresses and placed them over one shoulder she came behind him. Her naked hips pressed to his backside as she molded herself to him, scratching her fangs along the bone of his shoulders as her uninjured hand reached in front of her.

Blood followed her nails as she scratched down his abs, gouging the flesh as she went to stab at his hip bone. Her tongue flicked out from her fangs, as she tasted him, her nipples puckering against the skin of his back.

"How easily you forget of your whore." She purred as she curled her moist tongue on his flesh, "You will not forget of me.."

Wrapping his strong grip around her wrist, he puts pressure on those delicate bones, his face passive. "Do not presume to know my thoughts. You are the only whore to be in this room," he informs her briskly, tugging at her to bring her tumbling past him into the stream of water spouting out from over head. Once she was in the spray of water, he twirls her around so that she is facing him once more, taking in her naked form with bland appreciation. She was not unattractive, and she was obviously no stranger to such rough games.

Stepping forward, he closes the door of the standing shower behind him, pressing his strong, angular form against her soft curves. A hand goes out to smooth over puckered and scarred flesh, following the outline of her abdomen up to heavy breasts. Plucking at one pert nipple, he gives her a wry grin. "I didn't bring you in here for my own amusement. You're disgusting."

Artemisâ?? snarled at being handled like a whore, yet the spike in her scent indicated her pleasure. Bloody, muddy water curled in the tub at her feet as it washed from her form. Her hair turning into a faded brown in dampness. The hot water caused a flush to appear on her marble flesh as she cooed at him.

Feeling his touch on her nipple she swallowed a growl, usually the one who made the rules. Her skin prickled under the new sensation of being dominated. Yet the ancient was not a natural submissive. Making sure her hair was clean she brushed it aside scratching down his nipple with her finger in return before suddenly bending to take it between her fangs a bit too roughly.

â??Iâ??m simply here because you were inadequate to look after your previous slut. It's a shame I had to deal with her. I wonder...â? Her voice was taunting, teasing as her fang pierced his sensitive nipple before her tongue curled around it soothingly. "If you are really worth being cried out for. She did sound quite sweet when she pleaded for you..."

With a haughty laugh the ancient pulled away from him turning her back as she faced the spray of water, purring at the warmth that pooled into her wounds. The wounds were closing quickly, thanks to the replenishment of his blood.

Letting her get away with her roughness, he grits his teeth as she bites through sensitive flesh. Ignoring her constant chattering, he makes a mental note to purchase a ball and gag and keep that handy, lest he ever be in a situation with such a rambling whore again. It was starting to give him a headache. Especially that laugh. Chuckling himself, he practically grins as the harlot turns her back, facing into the water.

Pushing her over with a firm hand between her shoulder blades, he enters her roughly, already erect from all the violence earlier. Sheathing his sizable girth deep inside her body, he wraps both hands up in her long, wet tresses. Pulling out before she can even properly adjust, he rams his length back inside of her, making certain she knows his place.

Artemis growled in surprise before a heavy moan escaped her. Her legs parted more as she pressed back towards him. Her lust and rapture was evident in the flush that bloomed over her body. Feeling his roughness rocked her to the core, enhancing her arousal as she let him have his way.

The Huntressâ?? position was awkward, causing her to brace herself against the wall under the force of his thrusts. A broken pant escaping her as she pressed back onto him willingly. It was unlike the ancient to be so oblivious to her surroundings, but it had been a long time since she had gained physical satisfaction in this way.

Riley was more than satisfying. As she succumbed to the pleasure she let her sense fade, focusing on only the feel of him moving within her. The spray of the blistering water only adding to her pleasure.

Normally she would have picked up the smell of blood, the sound of a door opening, the lingering smell of vanilla along with the soft plea.

â??Riley?â?

She was battered, bruised, broken and bloody. Her pink dress was torn and exposed expanses of wounded flesh. Evey was exhausted, but looking fairly clean due to the nightâ??s rain. She was chilled, her usual pink pallor was sheet white which was unnatural for her despite being immortal. She was barefoot, having lost her shooes during her escape. She had been lucky, but her stubborn will was forced from her, causing her to return to her home terrified of the prior experience. It hadnâ??t taken long for her to decide to return to Riley, ignoring the fact that he would be angry with her; she had made her mind up.

As she made her way through the apartment she tripped over articles of clothing. Confusion registered, he had never left his belongings out before. She called out to him again, eyeing the strange materials littering the floor as her eyes adjusted through the dried blood.

â??Riley?â? Even her fledgling senses picked up the scene before she came upon it. But, it was denial that edged her into the bathroom. Evey stood dumbfounded, hazel eyes now silver in shock as she registered the scene before her.

â??Rileyâ?¦â? She whispered heartbrokenly, her whisper echoing hauntingly throughout the large space.

Riley too had been too entranced by the pleasure he had long since denied himself to notice Evey's approach until it was too late. Cursing his clumsiness and lack of tact, he withdraws his erection from Artemis suddenly, pushing her out of his way so that he could exit the bath without her bent form being in his way. Heedless of his nakedness or the moisture rolling off his flesh to leave puddles on the floor, he strides to Evey's side, concern marring his features. Even though he had long since expected the worst, to see her in such a condition rocked him to the core. Here she was, standing in the evidence of how he had failed her, and what was he doing? Fucking her aggressor. Completely tactless.

Bending at the knee, he stoops before her wordlessly, taking in her wounds, already forgetting the undoubtedly very angry ancient behind him. Tearing at his own wrist, he offers it up to her, arm stretching out to embrace her to his shower and sex warmed body in an effort to comfort the obviously chilled fledgling. There were no words that came to mind as to explain the scene she had walked in on, and so he offered her none, his only thoughts dedicated to resuscitating her, healing her wounds. Blood gushes forth from the self inflicted wound, coating his pale forearm in sticky red. "Please, Evey," comes the soft plea, shattering the silence that had fallen thickly over the hotel bathroom.

Artemis fell forward, the fullness of Riley slipping from her body even as her inner walls clutched at him frantically. Shock caused her to embarrassingly sway to her knees, without the support of his rough touch she landed hard unto the shower floor. With over sensitized nerves she laid there, trying to gather herself. She had been dominated, and she had loved every moment of it. Her eyes turned towards the scene as she caught her breath, a growl rolling through her.

He was doting on the fledgling again, kneeling before her feet.

Evey stood looking down at him. Tears welled up within her eyes as she shook her head. Crystal drops of sadness fell down her cheeks as her lips parted in a silent sob. She had always come to him for protection, but as she tossed her head back she connected gazes with the ancient.

Eveyâ??s face hardened considerably as her wet eyes leveled with Riley once more. Gathering her strength she launched herself at him. Viciously pulling at his hair she snarled through her tears; a wounded love. She curled her fingers at his eyes, but thought better of it, instead scraping her fingers across his lips vengefully. Lips she had never kissed.

Roughly pushing his face away from her she stepped over him gracefully. Reaching for the nearest object she grasped it turning towards Artemis who had begun to climb out of the tub. The mirror crashed into the ancientâ??s neck, glass splattering and cutting her. Blood leaked elegantly from the wounds as Artemis merely eyed the fledgling.

â??Riley, comeâ?¦â? Artemis called, proudly ignoring the youngerâ??s attack. Evey tuned on bare heel. Eyes mournfully peering over her companion as she swept her wounded thigh over his shoulder. At first she walked from the bathroom, but as her foot brushed past the forgotten cloths she bolted into a run; exiting the way she came without a word.

It was shock that kept him from apprehending the fledgling, both as she attacked him and Artemis, and as she fled. Never before had Riley witnessed Evey's temper. And that it had been turned on him was all the more surprising. Well, not that he hadn't deserved it, but to see her fly in a rage at him, tear his lips to shreds, blood dripping down his angular chin as well as his arm. And that she had fled comfort and his concern. Staring blankly at the door, he struggled to catch up with the events that had just taken place.

Rising to his feet, he pays no heed to the ancient behind him still. Instead his bare feet take him through the hotel room, looking blankly down the hallway before closing the door. Moving back to the shower as his lips heal, he gives the blond a stern look. "Move whore," he commands, aiming to quickly wash the blood from his form, get dressed and follow the little blond. With her body in such a condition, she couldn't possibly have gotten far.

Karita had wandered from the mansion dressed to the tee for a cocktail party she had been invited to by a handsome photographer that had been swept up by her beauty. Of course, that beast that had killed Erik was likely still on the loose. But she'd never be a model if she hid inside those safe walls, hoping that older vampires that didn't even like her would keep her safe.

Black heels click on the wet pavement, a black slip dress clinging to her curves like a glove. Milky pale thighs flashed with every sharp step, her hips swaying widely. Oh yes, she was a beauty, and she was alone on the dark Parisian streets, and she was unafraid. At least when it came to the rapists of the night. A mortal she could deal with easily enough. Vampirism did have it's perks, even if it undeniably hampered her modeling career. How would she ever be able to do a sexy swim suit shot? Sighing, she runs a hand through delicately curled blond hair, her makeup flawless despite the rain, though the dampness of the air started to take it's toll on her hair sprayed hair.

Evey ran blindly as fast as her battered form would carry her. Her hasty gate slammed her into a woman. Blood from her wounds splashed onto the womanâ??s fancy attire as Evey collapsed against her. Tears caused her body to tremble as she fell at the strangerâ??s feet, not caring if it was friend or foe. The tiny fledgling curled into a lose ball, knowing she had little time to catch her breath. Surely, Riley would come for her.

The uncertainty of that thought caused a flurry of sobs to escape her in gasping choking sounds. â??Please!â? she begged the stranger, â??Take me away.â? She whispered her body chilling more upon the wet pavement.

Artemis stood naked, blood still dripping from her body as she leveled her angry gaze at Riley. â??What?â? she asked, shocked, her body still tingling delightfully from his previous attention. She snarled at him, reaching for his neck with unexpected speed. â??You will not harbor attentions for her when you are mine!â? she warned, jealousy causing her features to twist unappealingly.

Almost toppling over at the impact, Karita windmills her arms as she staggers back, attempting to catch her balance on stiletto heels. Finally regaining her center, she glances down at the poor girl curled on the ground, blood smeared and looking so miserably pathetic. Registering the little blond as a vampire, Karita nods slightly, bending at the hip and knee to scoop each of her long arms under the girl. Hefting Evey up against her copious chest, she smiles warmly at the girl. "No vorrees, Dahling. You are saff," she says, her accent tainting the words, making them even softer in her concern. Turning, she quickly makes her way off to the mansion. Laetitia would know how best to tend to these wounds, and a few days in a nice bed would make the smaller girl right as rain.

Riley narrows his eyes at Artemis, his fist pulling back without notice. And rather than acknowledge the dumb whore's notions of possession, he lets his fist fly, punching the woman square in the nose, feeling the delicate cartilage shatter under his fingers. Pushing her off to the side, he steps under the spray of the water. The blood leaves his form quickly enough, and he dashes from the bathroom to find a pair of loose fitting slacks and a button up to tug onto his still damp body. Donning shoes, he pauses at the door. "You had better be gone before I return, or I will kill you," he warns before disappearing behind the door, the slamming sounding his departure. Hastily, he exits the hotel, running in the direction he thought Evey was most likely to take.

He needed to find her before something else did. She couldn't defend herself, not in her current state. And to put it off too much longer would be her death.

Feeling quite safe, Evey let herself drift into a calming coma, the darkness enveloping her.

Artemis staggered back in horror. She hadnâ??t expected her loved to hit her, forcefully too. Her scalp bounced off the wall as she slid to the ground, her hands cupping around her nose in horror. The pain seared through her, dampening any pleasure she had left in her veins. Curling onto the floor she screamed in raged after him. No one simply fucked Artemis and left, especially for a lesser woman. She snarled at his words, cursing at him as he left the hotel.

Seething in her rage she gathered her things, adorning her armor once more. Wandering into the night she looked first, for a meal to quench her rage, and then for her lost lover.

Karita smiles down at the girl, noticing that she had passed out almost immediately in her arms before striding quickly down the streets, heading back towards the manor. Spotting an idle taxi cab, she carefully opens the door, aiming not to drop the girl. Placing the fetal positioned girl in first, she slips in, giving the concerned taxi driver an amicable smile. "She has had a ruff nacht, und I need to get her home. Si vous plait," she explains in her soft voice, giving the address of the mansion.

Upon their arrival, she carries the injured fledgling inside, calling out for the lady of the house, Laetitia. "Please, she needs help," she calls, laying the tiny blond out on the sofa.

Laetitia appears as if out of the shadows, gently pushing Karita aside. Glancing over the girl, she sighs, shaking her head. The girl was in terrible shape. Lifting up the girl's head, she bends at the knee to kneel beside the couch, holding her wrist against chilled lips. While Isetnofret's blood would perhaps be a bit more potent, the ancient was off on a hunt, and so the elder would just have to do for now. "Come now, little one, you need strong blood," she coaxes softly, hoping to draw the girl from her unconscious state.

Evey murmured brokenly, her lips caressing over Laetitiaâ??s wrist. Blood seeped through her lush lips, enough to sustain the fledgling through her wounds. She would need half a month of rest. Her wounds were extensive, physically. Her eyes fluttered under her eyelids, long lashes fanned upon her cheek like wings, clumped with blood. She had enough strength to open her eyes a fraction, lick her lips as she tried to focus, â??Riley and Artemis..â? she spoke slowly, trying to express her swirling thoughts before darkness took her once more.

Two days had passed since that fateful night and Evey still remained in a deep coma. Her color had returned, her wounds turning to ugly bruises rather than gaping holes in her flesh. However, there was a disturbance during the early evening hours as the Manor rumbled.

â??LAETITIA!â? came the male roar. â??COME TO ME NOW!â? He yelled, lurching in the door way, propping the door open with his boot as a slight drizzle came down. He hadnâ??t expected his home to be filled with fledglings. It wasnâ??t a safe place for his company now. This was not the entrance he had imagined, nor the circumstances of revealing his secret.

Vox was soaked to the bone, dirty while he turned his rough profile towards the door eyeing a small shivering bundle of blue wool on the stoop. The young fledglings of the manor hissed at him, unsure what to make of his entrance as they slowly formed together in a small protective group.

Isetnofret was in quite a foul mood, upon hearing her sister's name spoken in this household. Storming about, worrying at the weapon at her side. If Artemis had followed her to this country, if her sister was the one picking off fledglings, the torture she would endure would be most delightful to inflict. The Egyptian had had quite enough of the fake goddess' bullying of children. Truly an appalling way for an ancient to behave and punishment would be justified by now, most assuredly and it wasn't as if Isetnofret had even come close to forgiving Artemis for Neffie. And now there was another youngling, lying on the couch in a delirious daze, badly wounded. Quickly the fledglings learned to avoid the stewing Ancient and keep from doing anything to gain her attention, lest her temper be turned on them.

Laetitia had been fluttering about for the past two days, trying to keep the sudden influx of young ones roomed and comfortable, making sure everyone appreciated the rules and seemed like the sort to follow them as well as tending to little Evey. It was very lucky that Karita had stumbled upon the poor dear, and from the look of things as well as the scent on the girl, it seems Artemis was in town. But with Isetnofret being in the mood she was, there was no point in Laetitia stressing out about it as well. Her older companion could deal with the situation well enough and keep them all safe from that crazed bitch.

Vox's approach had been no surprise, but the shout for her presence was. Rather than allow the foolish male to upset the whole of the house and quite possibly piss off Iset more, in a flurry of skirt and soft leather boots, she trots down the hallway, dark curls falling about her face and bust in her rush. Finding herself face to face with Vox, his attention outside, at a tiny creature holding itself wrapped up, she stops dead in her tracts. Her voice wary, she manages to voice her thoughts as best as she can in a very cautionary tone, "Vox, dear. What is that?"

Vox shifted uneasily, raking a large hand through his damp locks. He snarled as he saw his beloved, turning towards the fledglings, “Leave now!” His warning was clear with his sharp snarl, the rumbling growl stirring chills. He snorted as he turned, unable to keep eye contact with Laetitia. His jaw tensed, locked as he turned away from her to look upon the small bundle huddled on the stoop.

He kneeled, cooing softly as the bundled turned crawling between his legs and into his arms like a small child. Carefully he picked up the damp object, tenderly tucking a dark lock behind a pale ear. Standing Vox lifted the blue wool package easily, his gaze on Laetitia’s shoes. His usual confident demeanor eclipsed by the worried expression gracing his angular features.

“You brought more vampires into our home, without evening knowing.” He spat, obviously blaming her for a secret he had decided to keep. Blue eyes looked sharply at her as he moved, pressing his arm into her shoulder as he looked down at her angrily. “ I didn’t know what to do.”

With that he delicately pushed the blanket from the child’s face. A pale face, familiar; the blood coursing through her veins scented the same as his beloved. The child turned her gaze, dark eyes looking at the elder, her pert nose red and irritated by the material of the wool.

“It.. Was the only way I could be with you.” he softly growled, “I never abandoned you, Laetitia-- or your family. She’s sick…”

Laetitia stares at the tiny face for a long time, her face utterly still. Lips open to speak, but no words are formed. It's a very long minute before she has the wits about her to be furious with Vox yet again. He blames her for something he had kept secret from her. And worse, he brings the poor girl here with no warning. Struggling to keep calm, lest she frighten the poor girl, she starts towards him, to carefully take the girl from his hands.

"You're a fool, Vox. I wish I could thank you for staying with my lineage, but you're forever a fool. If she's so sick, why would you move her in the dead of night on a rainy eve?" she demands, her dark eyes glaring daggers at him before looking down on the little girl that looked so like herself as a young child. Smiling sweet, she sighs with a shake of her head. "Come little one, lets get you out of this awful, wet wool and into something more comfortable," she purrs out, easily hefting the child against her hip and strolling off towards one of the back rooms that would be warm, empty and full of heavy blankets.

Vox had to suppress a possessive growl as the girl was lifted from his arms. Her tiny fingers lingered for a second upon his wet shirt before going limp. She made a small unsatisfied whimper as she was pried from her protector's embrace. But soon, she slipped into blackness as exhaustion consumed her.

Shifting in agitation Vox exhaled loudly. He could sense his companion's irritation before words were even exchanged. With no retort he merely stood dripping in the foyer as the child was carried from him. With his arms now empty he brushed the water from his brow and hair, a stern expression etching his face.

But, his eyes held something deeper as he looked after the pair, concern. His eyes were that of a parent, looking with a worry so heavy it could dampen a desert with its downpour. With nothing to say, nor left to do he lingered even moments after Laetitia had disappeared. Vox turned and left with a slam of the door. His usual reaction to things he couldn't control; a habit of abandonment.

The girl is so tiny in Laetitia's arms, the vampiress figures she can't be terribly old. Toddler, most definitely and small in her illness as well. Taking the sleeping child into a warm, empty room, she carefully unwinds the damp wool from the poor girl. Her skin is clammy cold and an awful sort of pale. Laetitia lays her on the bed and retrieves a fluffy towel from the linen closet of the room and an extra blanket.

A gentle hum escaping red painted lips, she carefully towels dry the little girls brown waves, and wraps the girl in the dry cotton blanket before tucking her in under the heavy comforter. Faintly, she wonders if Vox had cared to arrange for a day care provider for the poor thing, preferably a trained nurse. But of course, she couldn't ask him, because he had vanished once more. Always running off when it might be useful to have him around. "What was he thinking, surprising me with a living heir," she murmurs to herself, watching the girl sleep. In another moment, she would leave the room and talk to Isetnofret, see if there was some way to arrange for a supernatural friendly nurse to be present and tend to the child until she could talk to Vox and see just what he planned to do with the little one.

Evey stood like a statue at the window. Her delicate fingers clutching the sill. The sun would rise in less than an hour, and as usual the young woman would soon have to pry herself from the window. For a month she had slept, recovering from her physical wounds. Yet, her golden green eyes were dull, the golden hue dim in her sadness. It had been two months since that fateful night where she fell into the arms of her new companions. During the recent month she had occupied her thoughts with music, the love of many of the occupants in the new Haven. Piano being her favorite, she would caress the ivory keys like a lost lover.

A thin, ruffled white dress adorned her body, now glittering from the nutrients she had obtained from her elder's blood. Her beauty was haunting in comparison to her usual lively attraction. When she had finally awoken she never spoke of the events. Though, Vox was familiar and informed inquiring minds of the man she had been with nothing else was known. When she had arrived it was evident in scent that she had been attacked by Artemis, but that didn't seem to explain the emotional wounds, still ripe after this time. Only occasionally would her companions see a smile, often times over the most unusual things, such as human chocolate.

Brushing her fingers through her molten curls she removed herself from the window, bristling fearfully at the upcoming storm. Thunder rolled through the heavens as she walked barefoot through the Haven like a practiced dancer. Her gaze cast downward she tip toed, careful to not tread upon the cracks of marble. The air was chilly and moist causing her skin to glisten as if graced with morning dew. She missed him, but he hadn't come for her as he usually did. Yet, despite everything hope still burned in her breast for the familiar.

The ancient roamed the halls anxiously, regrettably free of the smell of bloodshed. Every night since Evey was brought to the manor by Karita, Isetnofret had roamed the streets like a hungry dog, searching for her sister. She traveled lightly, a few knives on her person and a stake strapped to her thigh, blended in thanks to a pocket she had sewn into black work pants. With the sunrise approaching, she had called her hunt for the night and returned home for the day. Passing the young vampire, she bows her head, apologetic. The girl had not spoken of the night, and Iset blamed herself entirely for yet another child of the night being terrorized by her crazed sister. If only she had killed the false goddess the night Neffie was murdered. Lost in her thoughts, she pauses by the door, looking out into the night. "I'll find you, Artemis. Just you wait," she mutters, her melodic voice made harsh with her fury.

The smell of rain was heavy in the air, making all of dirty Paris smell like mold and mud. Riley had come to hate this city, not that he had ever been particularly pleased with it in the first place. France had disappointed him in the days of World War 2, and that distaste had lingered. The dark haired vampire had searched every nook and cranny he thought to find his female companion for the past decade and he had still found no trace of her. It was as if she vanished. Either she had found a friend, which was unlikely but not impossible, or more likely, she was dead. But he had not stopped his search. And he had no intentions of stopping his search until all hope had been lost.

His jeans hung loose on his ragged frame, dirty and torn from fights and wear. His face was dirt smudged and fiercely determined, his green eyes glittering with violent frustration, though he carried himself calmly and forever forward. Soon he would tuck himself in some safe hole or another, the sunrise was coming, even if the clouds were heavy in the sky, but his feet continued to carry him in a wandering direction, making his way out of the city.

Artemis turned from the alley, her eyes on the male. Still his touch lingered and burned on her skin. The memory of pleasures cut short. Presenting herself she was renewed and fresh, having left the country briefly. The ancient was not without intelligence. Bloodshed would lead to an audience. So, she had disappeared. Her goals changing from finding her sister, to shadowing her passions.

Her eyes narrowed, as she approached him. She had thought very thoroughly on her plan. Even masking her aura to observe. Confident it would play out she smiled wickedly at him.

"If you're still looking for her, you would be happy to know she isn't dead, yet." She paused, her voice floating upon the early morning breeze. Her voice was lush, "She ventured where all the weak venture. To my sister..." with a growl she stroked her wet hair over her shoulder. "A haven. But, from what I observed she's doing very well under the protection."

As usual the ancient spoke great lengths, "More protected than she was with you. But, unfortunately, not for long. I find that my sister and her companions have become attached to her..." she paused to judge his reaction as her eyebrow lifted. Turning her head she gazed towards an alleyway, "I suppose I can-- Oh what do the human's say..." She was being theatrical, "kill two birds with one stone?" Tilting her head to the side she nodded to herself, "Yes, pry a beloved companion once again from their embrace, and of course rid you of this strange obsession."

Turning the clink of her armor echoed through the emptiness, "I hope you can beat me, darling."

But, of course the ancient had no intentions of beating him, merely encouraging him. She was sure that the silly child would reject him; overly confident. With the his hopes broken from her refusal her passing would obviously be a trifle.

Even though she had tried to mask herself, Riley was not unaware of her existence. He just didn't bother to acknowledge the whore until she played her little games. He listens to her words, face impassive. Centuries of war had hardened him and left him constantly on guard, but it did relieve him to hear that Little Evey had found a safe place.

Part of him was tempted to just leave her there. She had to be in better hands than his own. But at the same time, he felt obligated to see for himself that she was actually safe. He had spent so much time trying to take care of her, he wouldn't be contented taking Artemis' word, though he had a feeling she was full of shit about harming his little charge. Following her easily enough, the stink of the city falls behind them, replaced by the sweet smell of countryside before a morning rain. Before long, he had picked up the scent of his companion, and he easily passed the ancient woman, laden down with armor.

Uncertain if she would want to see him, he loiters close the manor, sizing it up as well as looking for a safe place to curl up in the woods around the manor. But before he could even catch a glimpse of a person inside, he was pinned up against a tree with a blade against his neck. Calm green eyes meet golden hazel hidden slightly by jet black hair.

"You smell of the bitch, why?" Isetnofret demands, venom dripping from her voice. When he offers no answer, the Egyptian snarls a curse invoking gods no longer worshipped and grabs him by his throat, dragging him inside the manor. Dropping him on the floor in front of Laetitia, the small woman towers over the prone man. "He knows where she is," she snarls. The knife still in her hand, she waits to see if he had the audacity to rise from the crumpled mess she had tossed him down to be. He was a strong youth, but she had no qualms about killing him. Chances are, if he could stand to be in the presence of Artemis, he was full of cruelty and violence himself. No loss, should he be disposed of.

Laetitia starts, glancing down at the male currently prone by her feet, his dirty and gaunt appearance first catching her attention before the scent of Artemis hits her. "Welcome to my home, child. I am mistress here. I would prefer there be no blood shed, but unfortunately, if you are in league with the vampire that calls herself Artemis, you are exempt from the laws that govern this house," she explains in lilting English, her heavy french accent only growing worse being in her home country.

Hearing commotion in the wee hours of the morning occupants who had just settled for slumber, or were on their way to dreams, began to rise, gathering in the corners of the foyers. The scent of Artemis did linger on the man, causing most of the young to flinch. Especially those who had seen the state of Evey when she arrived.

Among the throngs was Vox, who stepped forward in a lose fitting button up. He looked disheveled, his bare chest showing, his hair in disrepair. A small child clung to his leg, red eyes indicating her previous tears. She trembled with fear at the spectacle before her. With a exhausted sigh Vox whisked the dark haired child into his arms. Her hair fell into familiar lose ringlets as she soothed herself by sucking loudly on her fist. Stepping forward Vox stood next to the women. He recognized the man. "You're the dirtbag that smashed my nose!" He exclaimed too loudly causing the child to sob and bury her face into the crook of his neck. Swallowing his indignation he jabbed at the man with his boot. "Oh...you were with Evey that evening..." He growled for he was the only one that had seen her happiness before the attack. "You aren't wanted here... If she-" As if on que he turned to peer through the gathering, his eyes meeting the dull green eyes of the fledgling. "Fu-" He began, moving swiftly he placed the child in Laetitia's arms as he moved towards the crowd. He began shaking his head at Evey, trying to communicate without saying her name so as not to cause the man to call out to her. He was doomed the moment his scent was of Artemis. It was also unclear if he had assisted Artemis in Eveys injuries. Though it was unlikely, he had been fiercely protective of the blonde.

Never one to have things hidden from her Evey slid from behind the crowd staring past Vox and to Iset's feet. Her eyes blazed with golden flecks as her lips parted in surprise. Some of the other vampires turned to look towards her as Vox reached for her. A parade of emotions swept over her expression. Surprise, contempt, sadness, confusion until finally adoration settled over her beautiful features. She was quick, so quick in fact Vox's fingers only managed to brush her arm as she rushed forward. He turned only in time to see a whirl of golden hair and white ruffles.

Evey flung herself, brushing past an angry Iset as she crashed to the floor, scooting on her knees towards her companion. Her slender arms wrapped protectively around him as her whole tiny body curled into him, effectively blocking an assault from Iset. Despite having the utmost respect and gratitude towards the ancient her love for her long time companion obviously caused her to risk her wrath.

Molten curls tumbled over his person as if they too reached out to shield him. A familiar scent of vanilla wafted towards him seeming to war with the scent of Artemis as it wrapped around him. Her cheek pressed to his neck as she murmured. Awaiting his reaction as trembling fingers curled into his clothing, expecting to be pushed or pried away."Riley." She breathed affectionately, though her voice still broke in her emotional turmoil.

His shaggy black hair sheilded some of the death glare he had sent towards Vox. Oh yes, he remembered breaking the man's nose and he had enjoyed it. He was nothing more than a dog made eternal, and as such, Riley felt no remorse for his violent actions. But given his circumstances, he felt it would go poorly if he tried it again. The tiny tanned woman seemed absolutely furious as she hovered over him, so he took his kicks easily enough, face impassive.

As all the attention of the crowd seemed to shift and his nose is overwhelmed with the sweet smell of the girl he had tended to for most of her vampiric existence, he tenses but if anyone were familiar with him, they would see the slightest bit of relief in his face. And typical Evey, she rashly rushes to his side, clinging to him, getting her pretty white dress covered in the filth that covered him. "You're alive," Riley murmurs in a ghost of a voice, his arms instinctively closing protectively around the smaller girl, as if those around him that meant him ill would also dare to harm Evey. But even with the girl in his arms, he offered no explanations, not to the vampires around him, nor even to the girl before him.

Isetnofret's glare softens slightly, unable to cause the little vampire any more pain. At least, not until she understood the circumstances of the situation. Glancing to Laetitia, she takes a step back. "He may or may not be in league with her, I suggest a heavy watch until he offers up some proof of innocence. But if he's here, she may be close by," she explains before taking off towards the door, her speed startling some of the younger vampires.

Laetitia simply nods, trying to calm the child in her hands. There was no point trying to argue with the empty air, as that was all Iset had left behind.
