Deep within the plant life

Her cell had provided no solace, so Akila had whisked to the gardens. Turning to pure smoke she lay amongst a bed of carnations, a small comfort in just sinking into almost obscurity. The gardens was the one place they could all relax, and yet she could still feel thier grip on her life, never truly free from this awful place. She hadn't see him when she entered but after a bit she started catching sounds of movement and breathing and her smoke like form rose, looking to see the gorgeous man on the bench. She had seen him around the Block A floor and she knew plenty of the women were harvesting crushes on the godly looking man. She knew his status, being a halfling of both heaven and hell. Some thought it was a joke, others avoided him all together because of it. Those who did approach him were often lonely patients hoping to score or the odd tough guy trying to show his strength against what most saw as the strongest patient around. Well strongest patient in Cell Block A. There were plenty of terrifying powers in Block C no one wanted to contend with.
She watched with interest for a few seconds, expecting to see a girl appear for a romp in the trees, or perhaps the siren. Nysali was as well known on the floor as Elijah and for the same reasons. Unfairly beautiful and wanted, but her primary difference would be her personality. Nysa always seemed happy, always bouncing on some guy or gals lap, or hitting on any number of patients. She also had a soft spot, as Akila had never seen the promiscuous being actually rude to another patient unless they warranted it. Elijah was much the opposite, reclusive and resigned from the others, choosing to ignore most of them unless it suited him in some way.
How'd Akila know all this? Half of it was talk amongst the patients. Most of it was Dr. Vera's notes though, as Akila had skimmed a few whenever Dr. Vera had required her as an assistant. Which wasn't often.
maybe stop watching like a creep, her thoughts warned her making a fair point. She was hidden in the shadows of a tree, her dark smokey form invisible unless she moved into the light. And if she did move he'd spot her but neither did she want to stay stuck here. She had wanted to be alone with her thoughts, not within eyesight of him. so instead she sunk behind the tree and reformed, becoming once more solid as she snatched her clothing she'd lain conviently at the tree and dressing. At least this way she could feign ignorance if he saw her. Just a patient walking through the gardens, not a depressed patient wallowing in her thoughts while hiding amongst the plants. Her neck felt sore as she tugged her shirt on, a reminder of what had happened, her gut knotting further. God, had she been spineless around the taller woman.
Dressed and presentable Akila stepped away from her hiding spot, making it look like she hadn't seen Elijah as she wandered further into the gardens.
