Birth Planet: Dorellis IV, Dorellis system, Hera Galaxy
Race:Originally Avrani. Currently REM-Monarch bio-form designation 'Theta-Queen'.
Role: Queen in command of the REM-Monarch probe into the Lumos system
Appearance ~
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Orange
Weight: 300lb

Basic Physical Description: Srani has a humanoid body shape, at least if you ignore the bone structure from her back that forms a skeletal frame of wings, the only remnant of her original Avrani form remaining.
Other Features: At first glance her body seems to be skin-less, with bare muscle and bone seemingly visible over her entire form, with the exception of her face which seems almost human. Her 'wings' are hollow with tiny gaps along the razor sharp edges, seeping a powerful acid out of the bone structure and onto them to allow them to 'cut' through nearly any metal or flesh. Her 'hair' is actually a part of her skull, acting as a psychic 'antenna' allowing her to transmit mental orders to various REM-Monarch bio-forms.

Background ~
Personality: Cold, ruthless, vicious and above all brilliantly intelligent Srani is one of the independent of the REM-Monarch Queens, and unlike her 'sister' Queens she prefers to be the single guiding intelligence in a fleet. She does secretly delight in building someone's arrogance, making them think they have won, and then tearing that away from them. She hates answered to another, with the only exception seeming to be the guiding REM-Monarch 'collective' that provides the basic drive and instinct to the entire REM-Monarch strain.
History: Srani used to be one of the brightest military commanders on Dorellis IV, and was considered a hero amongst her species for the defence of the system against a REM-Scourge (one of the more prolific REM strains that infests pre-formed bio-forms, and if unopposed can consume entire worlds of life within months) invasion. She was only a squad leader when pushed into command due to the deaths of all superior officers, and managed to pull off numerous seemingly impossible victories against the REM-Scourge. Needing the morale boost the Avrani propaganda machine kicked into overdrive, making her to be the perfect leader, and rapidly promoting her.
The Avrani military of the time was mostly controlled by a 'old blood' officer core, and they resented the political pressure they were put under to give this young female 'upstart' more and more power. At first they needed her to inspire a counter-attack against the REM-Scourge, and she thought they had accepted her for the skills she had displayed. She didn't know that in reality they were just waiting for the war to wind down. They had no intention of letting some upstart, with no military pedigree, and who was female to boot, remain amongst them once the REM-Scourge were finally defeated and purged from the Dorellis system.
As the war started to wind down they sprung their trap, and within months a political assassination had occurred Srani had been systematically cut off from the public, and as time went on the people forgot about her. She fell into a deep depression, and it was during this time that she would first start to have what she thought was nightmares. Srani had no idea that she had, in her despair at suddenly being cut off from her friends, trapped on a border outpost with no real way to communicate with anyone off the base, and her requests for a more lively posting being ignored, reached out with her mind for company.
And she found it. At first she was just a silent watcher, with no idea what she was seeing, waking up screaming many nights, with no idea who she was, or where she was. At times it would take hours for her to piece together her memory of herself. But she kept being drawn to those dreams, her mind finally managing to believe that they were more than dreams, and that she was in contact with ... something. It was months before she finally worked up the courage to try and talk the next time she dreamt. Her attempts were a complete disaster, and she could 'hear' that all she was managing was sending 'static' into their perfect clean psychic system. But while she was unable to talk to the Queen's she was listening to, they did take notice of her, and scouting swarms were quickly dispatched, slowly homing in on her location.
Unlike the REM-Scourge that the Avrani had managed to defeat barely a few years ago the Monarch strain approached the Avrani military command with a proposal. They would give the Avrani biological information and technology that was centuries in front of what the Avrani had to offer, as well as teaching them how to make bio-forms of for their own to bolster their defence. All they wanted was Srani, and to the High Command it was as if the heavens themselves had aligned with them. The technology on offer would secure the Dorellis system against future aggressors for generations, and removing someone they still resented for the (imagined) insult to their honour that they hadn't been good enough and had to be saved by a girl. It sounded too good to be true, and they agreed to it. They told the REM-Monarch Queen who had met them where to find Srani, never realising what they would be giving the REM-Monarch.
Srani's outpost was vastly under-manned, and when the REM-Monarch attack came it was like nothing Srani, or the other Avrani serving under her, had experienced. They were used to difficult to kill bio-forms, a relentless merciless horde that overwhelmed their victims in a tide of mutating flesh. However they weren't used to bio-forms that used tactics and strategy, and after a weak probe was launched at the base, which was easily repelled with the loss of all attackers, they set an ambush of their own.
Srani was unable to resist investigating where the attack had come from, feeling secure in the knowledge that REM-Scourge didn't hold back forces from attacks, and if there was anything still out there it would be scattered individuals. She walked straight into the trap, and the soldiers who had been with her were slaughtered, along with another women who bore a striking resemblance to Srani to make the Avrani think she had been killed with the rest of her soldiers. The REM-Monarch withdrew after that, and for nearly six months Srani was infested and mutated, her mind both enhanced, and 'refocused' to serving the Monarch Strain.
The Queens made no secret of her betrayal, that she had been sold out by the very leaders she had saved only a few years earlier. They made her welcome, talking with her, treating her as an honoured guest rather than a prisoner. Of course she was still being infested, a slow drawn out process for the REM-Monarch strain, but suddenly amongst a group who welcomed her, and openly admired her, wore down Srani's resistance. Within weeks she started to welcome the infestation, wanting to be part of this seemingly perfect community.
As her infestation proceeded along she started to fantasise about revenge against those who had sold her out. She may have welcomed her new life, but the transformation was painful, and she wanted someone to blame. The other Queens encouraged this, and one of them even started helping Srani develop her own 'brood' of combat forms to allow her to achieve her goal. By the time her infestation, and mutation, was complete, she had her army designed and grown, and her plans in place.
Her vengeance was swift, taking control of the very bio-forms that her old superiors had accepted as bribes to betray her she used them to kill many of the senior military staff. Before the void in command could be filled she struck, launching a systematic and precise invasion that crippled the defenders within weeks. Within a month the Avrani were wiped out, and the REM-Monarch strain spread throughout the Dorellis system.
This established the pattern of her attacks, and she became the vanguard of the REM-Monarch strain. Many systems were taken by her tactic of infiltrating a system, establishing a clear picture of it's capabilities and command structure, and setting up a number of bio-form 'cells' that could be activated at any time for a savage decapitation of her opponents command and control network, followed by a carefully planned and precisely targeted invasion to cripple and ensure the systems inhabitants cannot pose any serious threat to the REM-Monarch strains spread throughout the system.
However not every system she visited she attacked. Some were simply too well defended to be worth the loss of bio-mass that would be required to take it, and as soon as she identified that fact she simply moved on, not wasting any more time or bio-mass when it would gain the REM-Monarch strain nothing.
