Since we have a movie version!

Last game I played was Aliens vs Predator 2010.

I know the game's been getting mediocre reviews, but I have to say, I'm really enjoying most of this game.

Yeah, sure, playing as the Alien means you're a little squishy, but the true power of the Xenomorphs is coming in swarms. So it's natural that when one Xenomorph attacks a full platoon of Marines, you're going to need to be stealthy or be dead. I love the ability to smash the lights for improved stealth, I love the ability to hide in the grates and I love eating brains.

The Predator (Or Yautja for you hardcore fans) are probably the weakest in terms of gameplay for me. Sure, the stealth is fun, but I don't understand why if I gank a marine, get spotted, run away, hide and restealth, that the Marines can now clearly spot me, standing still, 20 yards away. It's as if the invisibility is perfect until that first encounter. Bah.

The weapons for the Predators are fun, but the limitation of power cells feels out of place when you compare it to the movies. The Plasma caster, though. Whoo. I love busting that thing out. (Although I usually don't, just in case.)

The marines are standard marines. Lots of guns. They limit your number of carried weapons, which can suck because you can't mix and match which guns you carry. (I had to trade my shot gun for a flame thrower. I almost cried.)

But the absolute best thing about playing the Marines is the sense of isolation, fear and need to survive. When you play as a Marine, even through the same level twice, sometimes the Xenomorph spawns are random. Some times they appear, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they pop out in front, sometimes behind.

This is the first game in a long time that's made me jump. And that motion tracker...it's like impending doom when it starts to go off. I love it. Haven't had a chance to do multiplayer yet, still enjoying the campaign. I completed the Aliens campaign. While short, I felt it was not too short. While I love the Aliens and their stealth abilities, they're really designed more for multiplayer then solo play. I think the game designers knew that. The ending, I thought, was a bit of an odd choice, but...not impossible.

That reminds me of dead space somewhat, unfortunately I've never played that game. I have this irking irritation with games based off movies. The same goes for movies based of games, it's very biased but feh I'm a big baby about books being made into movies so ignore my biased opinion on that element. It does sound pretty interesting though, from a third person stand point it could make for a good play.

The last games I played was Zelda Ocarina of time and Zelda Majora's mask, I'm such a huge Zelda fanatic it's almost silly. I mean I've never played a game that I've gotten so into I played for hours. I plan to get the triforce tattooed on my wrist once I save up the money~

These were relatively in progression, after zelda I played TF2 which I can not ever not get enough of, pyro for life, if it wasn't obvious by my icon.

Then immediately after that I played L4D2 campaign, I have to say. I love being a spitter.

My first SC was 3, but I also played 4. I never bothered with Legends.

Which console did you have? I only ask because of the exclusive console characters.

I have a Zelda T-Shirt with the Triforce stamped in a huge crest on it. I love that emblem because people that know what it is love it, people that don't just think it looks cool.

I've got TF2 on my steam, but I've yet to play it. So lazy. I'd probably go Pyro too, I always love to play the under dogs. I know too many guys that are Soldier/Heavy/Spy/Engineer.

This is a legit question. I had the XBOX game with the Spawn character. One of my best friends had the PS2 game. Never played Link 'cause I never met anyone with a gamecube. Spawn was pretty broke. It was basically super jump + fireball.

cock of duty modern gay fare :3c

hahha sorry, had to use the more obscure name ever since I saw that video with master cheif in it.

but other than that. COD IS THE SHIT.

The Godfather II.

I don't even care if a lot of people say it's a horrible game. Within the first ten minutes of me playing, a friend of mine sent me a message just saying "why would you buy that?". It's not really that GREAT of a game, but as a Godfather fan, I kind of like it. :) Mind you, I haven't gotten too far into the story yet, I find it entertaining. Or maybe it's just the fact that I have nothing better to do. I don't know, but it's a nice game none the less.

Zom, as long as you're not renting/buying incredibly shitty games just to buff your gamer score, I think it's admirable you'd just play a game you love.

I, for one, just pre-ordered the new Spider-man: Shattered Dimension game. Yeah, web of shadows was fucking god awful, but I bought and played that too. (Didn't finish it, had one of those horrible 'put it down, can't pick it up again' moments.) I love Spider-man and the feeling you get from the acrobatics of web slinging, and I'll always give a game a chance if it's got him in it.

I've actually never gone "achievement hunting" or really even paid any attention to my gamer score. I just checked now, and it's only 5330 and I've owned my xbox for almost three years now. So it's quite low... maybe some achievement hunting wouldn't be such a bad idea. o_o

Alpha protocal.
A sleeper game. The lack of visuals & faulty game controls is made up by the various actions and consequnces that can come about acrossed the game as well as at the end.
Kinda like mass effect, but rewards and punishes you in the here and now.

Story is 50/50 at best.
Think modern day jame's bond for some 'higher-than-cia-secret ' organization.
Fitted with mis-matching weapon names to what they look like, then add terrorists, assassins, blackwater-bad-guys,etc.
only thing missing on enemies to kill was ninja's and pirates.

In the end it's just another third person/action oriented rpg.

I've only gotten achievement points from playing Halo: ODST. So...I know how you feel. Most of the time I play multi-platform games on PS3 for the familiarity of the controls.

Also I just beat all three campaigns of AvP 2010. The endings were, in my opinion, a bit short, but the prospect for the next game in the series looks fucking awesome.

I'm also, as we speak, re-installing Champions Online, the newest, and in my opinion best, Super Hero MMO RPG.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger...getting prepped to have my butt kicked in Continuum Shift >>

And I've actually been meaning to give Alpha Protocol a try, it looks like fun even though it may be a tad bit unpolished. It's also made by Obsidian, which is quite a plus in my book.

It's probably the best free to play MMORPG I've tried. Better then Perfect World, or anything else that's come out of Asia. Even that terrible Square Enix one. Blech. Hated that PoS.

Yeah I only played for about two hours or something like that, but it seemed pretty good.
The only thing is, I couldn't figure out how to add to your stats? Like, as you level up.
Or is that just automatic? I could never tell. lol.

I'm actually downloading it right now. >_>

It's automatic. The only think you really do manually is your skills.
Ahh, I seen a thread on the aika forum about where someone should put their stats. :)
Well at least I'm not the only dumb one.
