Gotham City was home to the bizarre, strange, and dark. Even in the daylight the city seemed to have an eerie gothic glow to it, and at night the freaks did not go away, they kept the sidewalks busy and crowded. There was a costumed man who joined them, usually from above, sometimes from his sleek black armored car called the Batmobile, at night this was his city, at least for now. The disguised Bruce Wayne wore a black rubber suit with kevlar woven into the chest plate, a yellow oval with a black bat emblem on his chest. The ears of his cowl were large and pointy, perhaps able to be held in someone's grasp. A yellow utility belt was latched around his waist which contained batarangs, smoke pellets, a remote for the Batmobile, and a grappling gun that Batman used to propel the rooftops. A black cape flowed behind him in the breeze.

There was almost no moon on this particular evening, it was fall and the air temperatures were cooler which helped the man feel more at ease while on patrol. He stood atop the Cathedral, a place he visited often since he had failed to save the Joker from his imminent demise. It had been odd that the body never hit the ground, but he had clearly seen the man fall to his death some fifty feet below. It haunted him, he had a moral clause not to kill, and while not intentional Batman couldn't help but wonder if he should have done more. He peered out over the city, he needed a patrol at the very least in the absence of any action.

He shot the grappling hook out and swung toward some abandoned warehouses near the docks. There was usually trouble to be had if one looked hard enough in that area so Batman figured it was a good place to begin. He swung through the air, his cape flowing beautifully as the rush of cool air adorned his face. Then his boots landed heavy on an old factory, he didn't know what it had been used for off the top of his head, nor did it matter. Batman headed to the ledge and jumped down, his cape poofed out and caught the air like a sail which slowed his descent to the ground. From there Batman began his foot patrol.

What he saw as he grew close to one of the abandoned warehouses caused him to pause. He was going to be outnumbered 10 to 1, not insurmountable odds by any means, but not the most favorable odds either. Instead of jumping right into the action, Batman used the shadows to begin to survey the scene. He needed to use stealth and precision over reckless abandon.

Gothan City.

A place with a very dark past and one of the infamous places around. Home to some of the eeriest people you'd ever meet and there were always people literally everywhere. Barbra currently lounged around and sighed as there was literally nothing to do right now. She tapped her finger against her lip because of how bored she was. She needed action and needed it now. Barbra got up from her seat position, walking over to the ceiling-floor-length window pane to stare out of it. Her eyes rolled up to stare at the sky to capture the bat signal but no luck.

Come on, criminals. Do crime. She thought to herself as she walked away from the window, then realized that there was not a moon in the sky. It was a bit mysterious to her but Barbra simply shrugged it off. It wasn't until she felt something inside of her ping, which made her stopped dead in her tracks. Quickly, she suited up, exited her home, and trailed a group of vigilantes closely by scaling the top of buildings.

There was a significant chill in the air tonight as the temperature was definitely dropping. Barbra, now known as Batgirl since she was in uniform, felt another presence and peered down to see Batman also trail the group. She scoffed because he just had to make an appearance but then again, she was going to be outnumbered if she did this alone.

So, a little help never hurt anybody.

It was a little unusual for her to fight side by side with him although she never turned down the opportunity. When she saw him pause, she did the same on top of a nearby building but scaled down to appear beside him. "So, are you ready to defend Gotham?" She spoke softly, her breath could be seen in the frigid air that surrounded them.

Batgirl started a trek to the abandoned warehouse as she scanned the premises for bobby traps, guards, or anything of the sort. She looked left, right, up, and down then eyed Batman.
