Kate was to become a Pokemon trainer today. Age limits had raised a good few years due to the ever dangerous presence of Team Rocket, evolved and primal Pokemon, and even heightened criminal activity. It just wasn't safe for ten year olds anymore. Sixteen was the new age limit.
The girl wasn't heeding the danger though, knowing the right Pokemon would protect her, and be her best friend. Living in Fuchsia City had the benefit of going into the Safari Zone in order to acquire a first Pokemon, possibly more than if she was skilled with her efforts. The zone really added a more intimate capturing experience considering only the trainer was able to attempt capturing, rather than with the assistance of a Pokemon like usual.
So, bravely, hopefully, and confidently, she strode into the tall grass on the shady side of the first tall hill she found, taking a little break near the grass, hill and even a small pond, finding it a nice, rather relaxing spot. Hopefully, she could find her first Pokemon here. Since the Safari Zone used a GPS to measure distance traveled rather than watches for time, she had all the time in the world if she just kept in the same spot.
