Six Word Stories

So I'm obsessed with short stories. Really short stories.

My favourites are those that are six words long. Wired has an article with a whole bunch of them and each is a delight. They're really fun and pretty easy to write. Let's have a go at 'em, eh?

I guess I'll start off.

"Smells like a whore." "Dad, stop."

Hands still red, he kept washing.

Free to Good Home: One-armed Android

"Psst. Line?" "How did you forget?!"

Here are a few in Spanish. While not six-words-long, microcuentos are just as fun

      • Similar to something I had to do for a creative writing final. XD It had to be as short as we could manage it, but it had to include: mystery, religion, and sex.

"GOD, I'm pregnant! Who's the dad?!"

        Six words. XD
        I'm amazing.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

Not stalking ya. I'm just a sap for micro stories.

It's disgusting how he swallows - greedily.

The water's radioactive, and he's parched.

The sky, the ground. All gray.

Fuck it. He's happy with himself.

She gives that same, disarming smile.

They'll have icecream in the shade.

No, I'm glad to see more!

I should really go and find that article on WIRED. Quite a few of those have stuck with me for a very long time.

Please do! These are fun.

Hot lights bring on a sweat.

He worries at the skin. Pulling.

Bad move. "Don't hassle me, kid."

She likes to pretend she's gallant.

Much obliged.

Oh man. The first one I read was: "Cellar?" "Gate to, uh... hell, actually."
That wins the gold medal.

That's a good one, lol. I love how effective some of these are. Check out the one Alan Moore wrote. 'Machine. Unexpectedly, I’d invented a time'

I knew there was a reason I had the hots for that man. Well, besides his comics.

"Computer, did we bring batteries? Computer?"

They're all really good. And they make fantastic fan fic as well. Not a six-word story, but Hughes has a poem entitled 'suicide's note' that goes:

The calm,
Cool face of the river
Asked me for a kiss.

God. That's strikingly reminiscent of this short story I read.
If you're ever bored with a few minutes to burn, An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge is an easy read.

*laughs* I'm printing these out.

'He read his obituary with confusion.'
'Corpse parts missing. Doctor buys yacht.'

Fucking genius.

I’m dead. I’ve missed you. Kiss … ?
- Neil Gaiman

(Whee, Neil Gaiman! Reminds me of something from Barbie's story in A Game of You. A girl has a dream of her former ex girlfriend, now dead. The woman speaking to her is very obviously dead and scratches at her open eyesocket.)

Gown removed carelessly. Head, less so.
- Joss Whedon (Awesome)

Longed for him. Got him. Shit.
- Margaret Atwood (That one made me grin)

"Writhing in the sheets, consuming need."

"I've tripped and fallen into hell."

"Hell has frozen over it seems."

"Ah, damnit. Not this position again."

XD
All I can come up with, so tired.
Lol.

"Alright, I'll go to hell then."
-Mark Twain.

I'm terrible at these, I like to say ALOT.
So, yeah, I'll just read and advocate.

*laughs*

Good to see more, I always enjoy reading these. I keep having little stories in my head, but then I don't write them down. I come home and have completely forgotten them. >.>

"That's no moon!" No shit, Sherlock.

Afternoon nap. Boy, Dad's hair missing.

Fuck me hard and fast.

You, I need you so much.

Take all that I give you.

Rushing heat, pleasure beyond all measure.

"Oh God, this pleasure isn't possible!"

*laughs* Erotic six word stories. I like.

Here's one that came up from King Lear:

And they laughed at gilded butterflies.

I can't match most of these, but I'll give it a try

"Blood and soul we are bound"

"Who's that?" "No one is there"

"A blade's kiss. A second smile"

"What do you feel?""Only you"

"All that we see, we know"

"Are you real?""I think not"

"Smilex. Cure's common people to smiles."

"You never let me have fun."

And that's all a sleep deprived Joker can come up with right now.
