In recent years the entire British mainland was overtaken by an outbreak of Rage: A mutated form of Rabies, Animal Activists broke into a containment facility and were attacked by chimps under the influence of the virulent strain, the effects quickly rippled over Britain and the less deadly political effects were felt all over the world. The entirety of the island was quarantined, locked down as survivors huddled for shelter, hiding out from the Rage induced infected. Thankfully Rage did not escape the British isles due to the fact that a victim becomes overcome in under ten seconds after initial infection. The infected are human, though highly contagious, and traveled in packs of over one hundred at a time, quickly swarming over areas. with uninfected living things, driven by the virus to spread it. Over many months, the rage died out and humanity once again returned to the isles.

over 28 weeks later A foothold was established, a bastion of humanity surrounded by high walls and countless security checkpoints, a place where humanity could start anew, away from the charred, dead remains of london on the isle of dogs. District one it was called, protected by a NATO coalition. The city was a fully functional section of britian, well placed too, it was almost a perfect new start until a survivor was taken from the city, an asymptomatic carrier, things fall apart as the woman and her husband share a kiss, and the virus is transmitted through her saliva, starting the infection all over again.

This is where our story begins, the Age of Rage.
